  1. At the rate you are going, I may have to expand the check list before lunch.
  2. Correction - it's bored antagonist. On the plus side, they've led a game this year (against a ranked team none the less!), so that has to be nice. I also love the sarcasm at the end. This is why our love works. viva la Tulsa!
  3. I'd refute your story with Snopes, but I hear liberals write that shit anyway.
  4. and their vaunted offensive genius has still outscored us through 3 games....sigh.
  5. Actually - he does love to get his guns up - the man likes him some Tech. He's fought for Leach's honor on this board before and may do it again. They have a special bond that can only be trumped by unnecessary political thread hijacks. In other news, Love Field has apparently been closed every Saturday since 1987.
  6. In short - no: http://deadspin.com/5040073/inside-kige-ra...dspin-exclusive
  7. If you missed it over the weekend, here's the hot post game reaction threads you can always count on to pick up your spirits headed into the off week. Today we have: A thread about how we don't respect the SEC for scheduling us: http://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42870 Two(!) angry rants at Vito: http://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42864 http://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42866 The end of Riley Dodge's career: http://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42847 With the exception of one thread, I'm not including intentionally funny (funny like hooking a car battery to the testciles) tongue-in-cheek GGII posts. The obligatory "positives" thread - with an eloquent look at DD to make Tasty feel like a STATS Inc. intern: http://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42859 And a look back and what we wanted out of this game before it happened: http://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42838 What to watch for this week: Someone looking down at SMU A joke about how we can beat the BYE week - or at least cover the spread Gratuitous Cowboys talk and reaction POLITICS - Happy 9/15! A request for JayDub to get well soon Utah State mockery (careful though, they are outscoring us 41-35 in three games) A call for Dodge to be fired And who knows what else! That's half the fun! GMG!
  8. Alex Smith and Matt Leinart agree!
  9. If you're implying that we should spend more time being concerned for our team's well being against a physically dominant roster, then I say good day. Also, if you wrote for a newspaper, I would start an aggressive letter writing campaign against you and boycott said paper. Respect us for we are gods!
  10. I will give no credit no matter what happens until Kige Ramsey stops supporting the Titans.
  11. Not to mention that you stuck with TY regardless of content or quality. and to think, I was almost going to be in Austin this weekend....think of the sexy times that could have been had...
  12. One of their band members recently took an advertising class on campus. Maybe we can play that up. They played in the arena during the NHL playoffs from the bench and it was just nice to have them back.
  13. This is why I save my use of stats and research for the Vince Young threads. I also can't wait for the debates. It will be a welcome break from the cesspool these campaigns have become. Oh wait, it probably won't, but let me dream!
  14. United Airlines thinks the internet is doing just fine, thank you.
  15. I've been amused by this site for years now. John really does have a rough life.
  16. You just described most of the state. I don't see how changing the stadium fan mix from 70/30 to 80/20 will make too big a difference.
  17. This thread title made me hope for the sequel to 2girls1cup. I am severely disappointed. POLITICS IS BACK! HOORAY! I can't wait to finally have someone help me stop being undecided. But which of you will post the smartest item? Will it be UNTPlaymaker's upcoming diatribe on universal health care? Chrisfishers' breakdown of the Iraq War? A guest visit from CheckFacts to teach me about Obama's resume? A treatise on Sarah Palin by KRAM1? That's the beauty of democracy - IT COULD BE ANY ONE OF THEM - OR EVEN ALL FOUR! God bless America!
  18. REview from the internet (bad words replaced with words of my choice): http://deadspin.com/5048029/cheering-for-i...jamboroo-week-2 New Metallica Video Review Metallica released their new video last week for “The Day That Never Comes”. If you watched the Packers-Vikings game the other night, you couldn’t have missed the Obama-damn song, because it was all over the telecast. Every time Metallica releases a new album, I refuse to get excited at first, only to then get sucked into the whole “Well, it COULD be their return to form!” mentality that is always, ALWAYS Ted Kennedy'n wrong. That was especially true this go round, as the band had finally ditched longtime producer/barnacle Bob Rock and gone back to their old, taint-kicking logo. FUCK YEAH! Surely, Rick Rubin could get another magnum opus out of them! It’s gonna be just like Puppets! Right? Wrong. This song sounds like a Vince Young local band trying to write their own Metallica song. The cribbing from “Fade to Black” is so blatant, the band could sue itself (and will likely do just that). Worst of all, James Hetfield is still under the impression that he can sing, and holy Republicans is that not true. Goat-molestin' Rick Rubin. You’re a guru! You can’t grab Hetfield by the balls and tell him to go back to BARKING the DNC'n lyrics instead of trying to croon them like every song is the chorus to “The Unforgiven”? FAIL. Reader Sam R. sums it up best: “The new song makes me want to kill myself for than ‘Fade to Black’ ever did.” Indeed.
  19. EagleD - I know you and Emmitt are having a cock-off over this and I am on the edge of it, but I think you're just as guilty of stat-misuse as Emmitt. This isn't a Texas thing for me (I'd have to sleep on the couch), but VY just isn't that good. It's really okay. Since you site his stats - let's look at the numbers: Passing - I won't even address this. You know he places in a retardedly simple defense and only makes safe throws. He still turns the ball over a ton and generally has the competence level of a Joey Harrington on a good day (Joey is actually a higher-rated QB.) Rushing - aka, he's not in college anymore. Vince carries 5-6 times a game and averages around 30 yards as part of what was one of the best rushing offenses in football. In theory, if we was a decent QB, he could do a lot with play action and going down field. He also ran much less last year and for about 4.2 ypc, so if we are making wacky conclusions, Vince using less of his intangibles meant more victories. In fact, Vince throwing fewer TDs led to more victories. Of course, if you look at the rest of the roster, you might also think they made up the difference. VY rushed for 395 yards last year on that 4.2 ypc average. He was also sacked 25 times. If the NFL added this deduction to his rushing stats like college does, his intangible feet created 238 yards on 118 carries. I admit its a mistake to pin all of the sacks on him, but for comparison, the Arizona Cardinals only allowed their slow, statue-esque QBs to be sacked 24 times all year. In conclusion, his lack-luster passing stats are not compensated for by his legs. That is a myth. If he could really pass effectively like he could in college, his legs would be a huge asset. Good teams had no trouble stopping him until his arm was worth fearing. Then you started seeing the crazy, unforgettable scrambles against teams USC, Kansas, and OSU. Please stop saying that VY is the reason that team succeeded. If the Titans had a real QB last year, they could have been the 2006 Chicago Bears and gone 13-3. Did the QB unify that team? I love you, but your cheerleader arguments just don't hold up.
  20. Betting on rust for a team that hasn't played in a bit and had an unstable - to say the least - time preparing for this game.
  21. Don't worry - everything is fine. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nf...ng-update_N.htm Unless people boo Vince again or he can't win back the job from Old Man Collins (the guy who first made quitting cool.)
  22. Forgive the brashness here, but Andrew would have struggled in the NFL too. It doesn't ruin his college legacy. It is okay for a bad quarterback to make the playoffs - the NFL has parity now. It's not that big a deal. Eli Manning was the worst-rated QB for the past 5 years until he broke through last year. You could just as easily argue that the titans put Vince in a position to succeed by simplifying the playbook to the point of firing a great offensive mind in Norm Chow to keep things easy for Simple Vince. Good coaches tailor the game plan to their talent, and Fisher did a masterful job of that. VY was winning games with less than 15 pass attempts last year because running and defense gave them the best chance to win. You know I love and I know the over-the-top approach Emmitt is taking is getting to you, but please take a deep breath and think about this for a second. This argument can not take away the National Championship warm fuzzies in Austin a few years ago. Vince failing in the NFL will never, ever make the happy go away - I promise.
  23. Arkansas State thinks scoring 82 points is no big deal. For hockey, I think I've scored 30 in a video game once. I shudder to think about what the conversion ratios are for this score for premiball.
  24. If you're campaigning to take the village idiot title from Jesse Martin and myself, you are doing a hell of a job.
  25. What's so wrong with VY being a college QB? Think those Husker teams in the 90s got their panties in a wad when some of their star skill players failed in the pros (or didn't make it?) This is what I mean about the Texas-complex? If we don't love Vince, something is obviously wrong with us.
