  2. A ticket that can get me into ladies? Hot damn!
  3. As much as we criticize them for making too much noise when we are on offense, Texas had the same problems with coordination Thursday night and it didn't phase them. I think people are just getting dumber across the board.
  4. You know what I'm digging?
  5. That is a good question. You should come ask it.
  6. Yeah Greenjacket...geez! There is no basis for anything you said!
  7. Someone beat you to it: http://firehisass.com/
  8. Got5onIt is an Aggie homer? Sometimes, my favorite part of vacation is reading your work when I get back. Someday, you might just get your own Monday Morning Recap./
  9. Same as any Big 12 team this year - vanilla with no press coverage and plain blitzes and you can run 400 bubble screens a game on it. My Texas experience was dramatized for board purposes (and then I couldn't get back on), but there was no fair way to settle this and, having watched Texas in person three times this year, they have no defensive speed to keep up with Florida or the line play to push back Bama's defense. Maybe Golden Boy Daniel can take advantage of the Sooners losing their starting two MLB's with Chase Coffman and shock the world, but I wouldn't bet on it. I also was so proud of the wife last night (damn Texas grad) when she said "I don't know why anyone thought we deserved the title spot and is freaking out about this." She may not be Quinn, but I'd hit it.
  10. Less talk....less jump....more rock...more cheese.
  11. I had one of the worst experiences at a football game in my life at DKR last night that left my Longhorn alum wife reduced to tears. I know several great Texas fans - including longjim and my inlaws - but it will be very hard for me to root for Texas ever again. The sad part is that the people who made the experience what it was are the community college douches who never attended a class on campus. Texas was my preferred choice before last night, but I'll now be waving a Sooner flag tomorrow night (just kidding - I probably just won't care that much and make jokes about whatever happens.)
  12. The official group to promote and raise awareness of the scientific fact that Texas did defeat Oklahoma 45-35 on a neutral site during the 2008 football season. It seems to be that these days, there is a contingent of America, especially those in the voting electorate that makes up the Coaches and Harris polls, that forgot that Texas did in fact defeat Oklahoma earlier in the year. The score, if you were wondering was Texas 45 v. Oklahoma 35. The game was played on October 11, and Texas defeated Oklahoma on a neutral site. For those of you in Oklahoma, or in case you are a Harris or Coaches poll voter, that means that Texas is the only team in the Big 12 South's vaunted four teams in the top 12 to have won a game against one of the other teams away from home. But wait. Didn't OU just beat the No. 2 team in the nation, by a lot? Yes they did. They were also at home where they have only lost two games since Bob Stoops started hating puppies and Jesus. Wait... But they beat them by a lot, and that was the team that beat UT? Yes. They did beat Tech. Tech did beat Texas at home in the final second. Yes, Texas did in fact, contrary to popular belief beat Oklahoma on a neutral site by double-digits. But wasn't that a long time ago? Lets see, OU beat the No. 2 team at home last week. Texas beat then No. 1 team on a neutral site. But I guess because it was over a week ago it doesn't matter. With that in mind we move forward with one goal in mind. To remember the Cotton Bowl. That is our cry. Remember, Remember, the eleventh of October. The day that Texas defeated then No. 1 Oklahoma by double-digits on a neutral field. So we are urging you, as concerned citizens of this great land to raise your voice, to act upon your first amendment freedoms and let your voice be heard by the small few that decides who plays for the National title, or in this case the Big 12 title. Do everything in your power to promote and spread the awareness of 45-35, because knowing is half the battle. And the game did in fact happen so long ago, so we must remember America, because she has such a short memory. Simple ways to raise awareness... 1. Join this group. And invite every educated soul you know to its welcoming arms. 2. Help raise awaress by creating viral marketing. Be it youtube videos, images, or signs to be displayed on your car, dorm, etc. 3. Call your local Congressman, err... Call your local Harris Poll voter, and or college football coach and remind him of the facts. 4. Do everything in your power to ensure every fan that attends Thursday's game against Texas A&M is provided with a large, legible sign that promotes the literacy of 45-35. KVET will be providing at least 10,000 signs (we should encourage them to sponsor more) and every issue of Wednesday's Daily Texan will feature a center spread that will feature 45-35. We need your help to first make sure these signs make it to the game on Thursday. The papers will go out Wednesday, we need all of the papers to make it to the stadium on Thursday so each person walking into DKR can have a huge sign boldly reminded the world that Texas beat OU. Further, we need to help get more signs out there, if we can get more sponsors, or simply making our own. If nearly 100,000 fans all have a 45-35 sign, it will be impossible to forget. Along with that make your own personal efforts to go beyond the simple signs. If you have a UT flag, get the score put onto the flag. It would be awesome to see a lot of the "Come and Take It--No. 2, 45-35" flags Thursday night. Other huge banners and signs that featured 45-35 would help the cause, especially if they played into ways to earn camera time (ESPN references, creativity, etc). 5. Travel to Stillwater, Okla. and personally remind ESPN CollegeGameDay and ABC Saturday Night Football that in fact Texas did beat Oklahoma. The power is yours my friends. Lets see what you can do. You have already amazed me in this first day. But we must continue our fight. Our voice will be heard. And we shall prevail, because we have the truth on our side. Never forget 45-35 and Hook 'Em MEDIA CONTACT: Call 469-595-6253 or email atalbert@mail.utexas.edu
  13. Salacious gossip indeed! Next time, try "suite."
  14. It's an annual ritual - the poll sucks until/unless we end up mentioned. Then it's the bees' knees.

  16. Actually, if you pay close attention, the word sprit is a noun defined one of two ways: 1. A pole that extends diagonally across a fore-and-aft sail from the lower part of the mast to the peak of the sail. 2. A bowsprit. Looks like EE is strengthening the boat after all. Hopefully, it will be so strong and sturdy that no people or animals feel the need to jump off this time. At the very least, they certainly won't be encouraged to do so.
  17. Dial up can be a bitch.
  18. Looks like this ship's still got a crew!
  19. Remember when we used to all look down our nose at you and talk about how we deserved CUSA? Those were good times...
  20. Beautiful. Happy birthday sir! Also, you know what I'm diggin'?
  21. First, I don't think OU beating OSU is a foregone conclusion, but I think their running game will control the win if you forced me to pick. I switched up my scenarios. Tech beats Baylor and then loses to Mizzou while OU and Texas lose this weekend. If they all had two losses, it goes back to the polls and who you want to punish the least, which would probably be OU since they would be the only losing to a team with a .500 or better record while on the road. Even if a 2 loss OU team beats Mizzou, its safe to say they won't play for the title. I think Alabama could recover from a loss, so let's expand it some. Auburn beats Bama and then FSU beats Florida. Then 2 loss Florida beats Bama and they all have two losses. USC still has Notre Dame and UCLA, so let's assume an absurd upset there. Then you have Penn State, Utah and Boise fighting for their spot in the top 3, just the way Miles Brand imagined it in the late 90s...
  22. The difference between the teams is in the thousandths (.0084) and the OSU win will move OU ahead. One SOS improves this weekend and SOS goes down. And, if OU does get upset, how do you rank Texas ahead of Tech after Texas plays in the conference championship. Now, in a more fun world, Baylor pulls the shocker over Tech, A&M beats Texas and then Mizzou beats Tech. FSU beats UF and then UF beats Alabama. USC vs. Utah could then happen and then Boise State might get that at-large bid. I don't care what happens at this point, but if I have to watch a matchup, I think Florida/OU sounds the most fun. I also think Florida beats any of the Big 12 challengers by 10+.

  24. The SOS boost from beating OSU is expected to do it - along with the stronger OOC wins against Cincy and TCU. Ohio State will get the bid because the BCS only has to choose one non-traditional team in Utah. In a coin flip, OSU brings more money.
