He's also already given a ton to A&M athletics and student organizations as well. I get the concern, but I think he's proven he's willing to give support to any and all people he deems worth his time and effort, so that should bode well even if this happens.

REAL POINT: I would agree 100% that this board actively discourages decent opinions (see what I did there?) Your presence is also missed and I wish you knew how to make points more efficiently and calmly because that's probably the biggest reason you end up feeling so attacked. If it comes out we turned down the Indy bowl, I'll grab a pitchfork and torch with you. Haven't seen that outside of some very special posts to date.

The bowl wanted USM for their profile and bigger profile. How do you fix that if you were a leader here? This choice sucks for me because I can no longer go, but outside of dismantling the bowl system, I don't know how to change it. There are plenty of valid criticisms for our AD overall still, but the same 5 people puking wishes all over a forum with no backing is not fun. If I am wrong on why I think USM got picked, I also welcome a rebuttal.

How about the cannon just fires the ashes of a different longtime fan every couple of years while we do a unified chant over "Old Time Rock N Roll" complete with a jumbotron scroll of every grievance said fan had with the athletic department before they passed? I respect being rich enough to troll a large group of people, but if Ernie wants to showcase someone without many individual accomplishments that is comfortable loudly taking credit for the work of others, why not just invite his pal RV? This is an honest question - what has he done that he can speak to? What is he good at that even his siblings aren't better at? Is he the sassy one? The savvier investor?
