Nhl Draft Day

I answered that in confusing fashion. I meant did everyone lowball the goalie this summer. -

I went back and look at the original Brunnstrom story on TSN and now I'm confused No mention of an option year or a cap limit -- did everyone just lowball him a bit and tell him to prove himself, therefore he went to the place that would let him play the most? -

Gagree - I think he is the best option left, but wouldn't mind Manny Fernandez as a plan B (or C at this point). -

One year deal on a poor defensive team - good luck with that, kid. get ready for Marty Biron or the other guy with the crazy last name from Philly. Just anyone who gets Turco on the bench for 20 games is cool with me. -
You know, all things considered, this is some of your best work yet. I still think I'm right, but I did enjoy the sexy sting of your open hand.

But you really don't know what you got until Don Nelson turns it into Keith Van Horn. -

Not me - I expect to see a team built around Bass in 2015. In Frisco. -
Yeah, this whole Director's Cup thing will never catch on - such a waste of time and money.

What the contracts and deals mean - from Yahoo Sports So no, they won't be straight signings, but they are in great shape to reshape the roster - better than most of the league. -

Why? If you have more money to play with than anyone next summer, there is no reason to be a laughing stock in three years. I expect nothing more than a series win or two from the current group if everything breaks perfectly, but the team should be in good shape to rebuild Celtics-style with all the contracts coming off the books during the next two years. -

Timmy had the same idea: http://mavsblog.dallasnews.com/archives/20...h-the-mavs.html I think you need to turn Damp on Howard into a 2 that can create his own shot, but easier said than done. -
The question is would we then flip him down the road or turn and trade Howard? The team is positioning itself nicely for next summer and later this year with expiring contracts - Terry (if option declined), Dampier, Howard - probably about $40M to play with next summer (or sooner.) Please upgrade the 2.

If striking out a lot leads to an existential crisis, this team has bigger problems than just a thin rotation and production out of the first base slot. Also, check Kinsler's numbers since May when you have a chance - it's depressing. I do not understand how Michael Young hasn't slapped him across the face and just said "watch me use the whole field." Also, you need Davis and Smoak going to share 1B/DH once Blalock, Jones and Byrd leave (we certainly ain't keeping them all). Max Ramirez was supposed to be our insurance to make trades with a strong hitter, but his wrist injury is tough. Also, considering Ryan Howard struck out 122 times before the all-star break pretty recently, it might be a good idea to not give up on the guy. -

Just think - if he knew her just four years ago...we'd have another chance to agree on my signature. Ain't life funny? -
What To Do With Kidd
Quoner replied to NT03's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Felton I agree with - but from what I've read lately, Charlotte wants to keep him. If we get a salary dump deal for Okafur in the middle, sign Birdman/Varejao/Gortat or even gulp Rasheed with the MLE and then use Stackhouse to upgrade the 2, that's a pretty solid roster - especially if we keep Bass. There's also the rumors Houston lets Artest walk with all of their issues, but I doubt we could land him for the MLE (unless no one takes him). Carlisle does know him well and he probably wouldn't be an issue with the rest of the roster not crazy. I disagree with you on Bibby - his whole career was made by the old lazy Steve Nash (before we screwed him, he got pissed, started working out in the summer and took his game to another level). I'd take Andre Miller over him in a heart beat. But, we are 1 for 1 on remaking Arizona guards into key players, so maybe we could make him happen. ONE EDIT: I referenced the same trade chip twice - we either use Stackhouse as the centerpiece of an Okafur deal or we use him to get a 2. l -
What To Do With Kidd
Quoner replied to NT03's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Really don't hate signing him for 8.3 a year...whoever comes in next will likely need a mentor and I think half of his getting lit up by fast point guards was the giant gaping hole of defense behind him. There's just not a better option right now (maybe Andre Miller could be the guy) - but the anus is on them to find someone to mentor next year or the year after, make good use of the MLE and turn the Stack chip into something good now and the Dampier expiring contract into something else good at the trade deadline. I have absolutely no faith that it will happen, but signing Kidd won't be the reason they fail. 6 years of poor drafting and a few really crappy personnel decisions will be a much bigger factor. -
Wouldn't it just be easier if we rebumped the old ones?
