  1. There is no bigger dick kick in sports than the late inning, west coast game loss. I think the worst of the year was that extra innings loss to SF on the wild pitch - but at least that was a Saturday and I was already at a bar.
  2. So does that make him like the confused ABA ref who calls a technical foul and ejects the player after the first completed alleyoop?
  3. We need his contract to play with next summer - not his contributions as a human being
  4. Gallery Furniture
  5. We need Damp this year - but the nightmare scenario is Gortat gets hurt, Hollins and Bass leave, and he pulls a Millwood and forces us to play him enough to trigger his option.
  6. I'd prefer to see a former player - maybe an big league reliever who likes talking sports. Who wants to listen to someone who never played the game?
  7. If you are married or plan to ever be, please click the link, read the copy and watch this video: http://warmingglow.uproxx.com/2009/07/even...ws-this-is-bad/ Also, don't worry Emmitt, this totally isn't about you.
  8. Don't you people know that architects read this board. Why give them reason not to build this?
  9. To be fair, we've had longer soccer threads. And, she is only 25% of a Rangers thread.
  10. Sean Bass. Dare we dream to steal Rich Phillips?
  11. A look at what it would take for Ol' Roy:
  12. This thread needs more scripture
  13. Go further. It's a shame that he posted here at all.
  14. Not free agent route - but the D-men I listed earlier and maybe a team that is up against the cap and needs D (say Chicago or Boston) would want to swing a trade.
  15. Signed Fistric for 3 years, $1M per and then traded a draft pick to Ottawa for Alex Auld - who is a great choice for a back up goaltender and younger than anyone on the open market (28 years old). Still plenty of chips to play for a D upgrade or new winger.
  16. Jerry kicks him to the curb right as he heads out for vacation. Nicely done, Cowboys PR floozies.
  17. To be fair, #42 - that old second baseman we have honored in the outfield - was a great player here for years.
  18. 6-84. Also, C-USA is 17-101 all time. FAU has played the most games against BCS opponents between the two conferences and gone 1-15. Just some random trivia from reading EDBS for the first time in weeks.
  19. SPORTS! I like the lead off idea, but I also think Andrus would benefit from now hitting between a wind tunnel - he's been flanked by Salty/Davis and Kinsler for months now. When Kinsler was going right, he was getting pitches to hit to the point where he had three early homeruns. Now, he has to fight his way on base and usually makes something happen quickly with his speed when he does. Wasn't he around .300 the first month of the season? I think he could grow into the role, but if Bourbon is the leadoff hitter of the future anyway, no reason to mess with the kid. Kinsler/Cano is a great comparison - both have hit for high average before and both have flashes that remind you they should be better than they are. Regardless of tonight, anyone worried about how the pitching matchups line up with Seattle this weekend? Hunter vs. King Felix tomorrow is tough Feldman vs. Olson should be good for us Millwood vs. Washburn is interesting since Millwood has been lit up in two straight starts and needs this one Nippert vs. Bedard is a bit disconcerting. A win tonight and 2-2 this weekend would make me pretty happy, especially since the Angels have the Yanks to deal with this weekend. Of course, I was hoping for just a win last weekend and it worked out pretty well, so I hope they show me up again.
  20. There were 3 or 4 high throws last night that made me cringe...only to see them settle snuggly in Hanks glove. Also, it is amazing how Hamilton settles the lineup. Once we drop Kinsler down the order to get his head right or reshuffle the deck a little bit to let Murphy or Andrus lead off, this thing could really get rolling offensively.
  21. I hear you, but it should be noted that Skrastins is only half that number per season. I don't know how many bargain bin d-men are out there, but if you were planning to package another D-Man in a trade - say Daley - that's not a bad insurance move. Also, there are increasing rumblings that Zubov is closing in on a deal elsewhere (but it's in the NY papers, so who knows), so moving quick is not a bad move. If, as the DMN suggested, they build a trade package for Kaberle, Streit, Liles or even Piuneff (sp), they will need to ship an NHL ready d guy back along with a young winger or prospect or two. Or, Hicks sucks and we just keep our thumbs up our butt. UPDATE: Just read we have 8 defensemen with one-way contracts if we resign Fistric as expected. That's before Zubov - so 1-2 guys could be on the move in the next few months.
  22. Not directed at you Jim, but I miss the days where I only knew the political views of "three or four of you on the board." Good to see that everything stays contained so well in the hidden forum.
  23. Don't worry Bob, I got your back. This is for you, CBL: Galatians 5:12 I wish those who unsettle you would castrate themselves!
