  1. The Tigers series will be interesting. Hunter vs. Galarraga should be a win for us - as should Padilla vs. a rookie, and then, and only since Verlander's road numbers are pedestrian, do we have a shot with Feldman in the finale. It would be nice to get 2-3 after the earlier games we dropped. Meanwhile, the Angels host Cleveland and Boston host Oakland.
  2. God you are stupid. That was an obvious joke with you with no mean-spiritedness that excluded your past and you still couldn't handle it. Of course she paid the tickets, but if that money goes to SMU, they might use the funds to slash our metaphorical tires and get Rivals to pick us #120. Isn't it time for CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE!!!>?!1111!!!11!!!! But, since you asked: Hey everyone, we made a satire thread about how to handle minorities because eulesseagle tends to post racist diatribes and links to white supremicist web sites. We thought doing the same thing "just in fun" that seems to to protect so many others would highlight the accetpance of this crap. We have had all of the moderators apologize to us publically and privately. Meanwhile, you continue to be a joke both within and beyond this forum. Now that the mea culpa is out, there goes my magical internet joke credibility -- you win this round! And you can never ask anyone to move beyond stormfront or any other crap you have ever posted again. It's more fun this way to us anyway, so the only loser in this will be you (well, and all of us for posting here in the first place.)
  3. My wife has a parking ticket from SMU - and she's white. What say you? WHAT SAY YOU, SIR!
  4. Hey - we all struggle. If I could even go 3/10, I'd be in the majors.
  5. Good thing you woke up in time to make lazy Todd Dodge jokes on the main forum.
  6. Looks like the dam broke and we are back to business as usual. Most have been the health care rallies yesterday.
  7. You know what I did that I bet others are doing? Taking a PTO system for sick and vacation and combining them. My five weeks is combined, but my office is very flexible about telecommuting, so you can have the flu, say yesterday and today, and not need to take any PTO as you do conference calls and complete projects at home.
  8. Did you see this? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/24/c...c_n_244220.html
  9. Good list - I might flip secondary and linebackers at the college level though - especially if you run a 3-4 since those guys are disguising and covering the short routes while the line hopefully disrupts the longer developing play.
  10. Bill Mosienko, Chicago Blackhawks. 3 goals in 21 seconds.
  11. I didn't mean this as a let's boost A&M or attack Dickey's philosophy, I just get worn out when random assertions like this are made by the same source every year with no logic to back them up.
  12. He was more a name out of a hat that I hadn't thought about the fit. I am more onboard with hoping Davis is fixed (.344/.403/.672 in AAA since the demotion) and having him come back. I never got the impression that Jones and Blalock are leaders or keys to the clubhouse, so if you can flip them - even for prospects and make those other moves - why not? Also, I'm already going to the game on August 2nd (not sure of my seats yet but they are purchased through a friend), but would love to see anyone who makes it there. I'm planning on catching a game of the Detroit series as well.
  13. Is there any talk of making a move for a lesser name hitter like, say (drawing from hat of guys with above .280 averages, good power numbers and reasonable salaries that are not in their teams future plans) Luke Scott? Maybe we should try to have a first/second place Ranger thread night at the Ball Park some time.
  14. And OBP, and leading the league by far in pop outs, and working counts...also, take his May out of the mix and see how he's been doing. He's having a great power year, but he's not doing a good job as a lead-off guy. Meanwhile, Murphy has done nothing but get on base and stay hot for months now, but he has mostly had a bunch of easy outs behind him in Davis (before he was sent down), Salty (last I saw he had the fourth worst K rate in all of baseball) and Andrus (batting around .200 the last month or so). If a team is going to give up outs almost like an NL team at the bottom of the order, it needs a leadoff guy who sets the table for its front end guys to compensate. Why not drop Kinsler's power bat down and let others get on base for him. I enjoy his solo homers as much as the next guy, but imagine if he had people on base in front of him. He had a better approach against Boston, but the folks who follow this team daily want to see him mix in a few more hits, walks and patience if he is going to continue to hit leadoff - that or move him down the order a bit so he can do some damage.
  15. 16. What an enjoyable day on this section of the board. Did the extremist on both sides get nervous that folks were watching them or is this just a fluke?
  17. You know A&M beat Baylor 73-10 that year - but you know, keep telling yourself what you want to believe. I think we would have beat those bad Texas teams in the 1980s. One edit: 2003 North Texas could possibly beat A&M, but it all goes back to those most tired analogy on the bored. Far superior size and speed almost always beats moderate talent (see Notre Dame vs. Navy 96% of the time).
  18. I guess the Rays didn't tip his pitches from the buildings inside The Trop.
  19. I think we tried to schedule them this season, but the request got crossed up and we ended up with Bama.
  20. I've passed your study along to HR. You'll start at nearly 4 weeks of vacation, but still, cross your fingers. We've needed someone to help us smelt nickel for months.
  21. I want Colt to win the Heisman wearing his brand new "lucky" maroon helmet. Aggies and Horns haven't been unified cheerleaders since Major Applewhite got screwed, but this could bring the spirit back.
  22. Fired employee? Most of those staffers didn't attend school there, which must drive Aggies into the same blind rage we reach about USM.
  23. I get nearly 5 weeks. Pow. Pow-pow.
  24. I only heard part of the show driving home last night because my wife wouldn't shut her big yapper, but did anyone debate why CJ pitched the ninth instead of resting a day? It flummoxed me and I was just curious if made anyone else scratch their heads.
