Tevin "Teabag" Cantly. Conquering hero of TY Sports lore.

This thread does a good job of proving the only point that you can poke holes in any coaching staff in the history of this school fairly easily. Why not just take a Kram pill and focus on the positive stuff from the past? Besides, unlike blind optimism for the future, the past cannot let you down.

Good read, but I doubt anyone could get consistent page views our make a career out of that style of writing anymore. Just another feather in the cap for the growing idiocracy and is one of the many reasons I find it harder and harder to post about sports. I don't care about the game recap and really the only angle I really enjoy is adding my slant to attending or experiencing the events and/or cheerleading teams I care about. Maybe I'm growing up, but discussing sports for sports sake really wears you out after awhile. The news link + snarky comment + prediction gets just as old to write as it is to read. Look at Deadspin, most of their good writers have left (save the over-the-top cussing-former WaPo employee) and they are really pushing the limits further than they did under Leitch to get those pageviews up for Gawker. Sadly, I think with the scandals they've been able to sit on and generate, it's working. If that's the future of blogging, then meh. I can just read it on the side. Part of why we changed to TakeAKnee is because we wanted to move away from what TY was doing. We grew out of it. We have a few posts we were proud of, but, and this probably sounds douchey, I'd rather write 4-5 items a month that I am happy to acknowledge I was responsible for than churn out 10-12 posts a week. I know that rankles our universe of 6 readers, but neither us intend to use this site as anything more than a site with a first priority of entertaining ourselves. I think the problem is you have 50-60 bloggers looking for their big break -- and some of them deserve it. Me, I'm just a guy who hates his day job who likes to write freely on the side after being forced to write most of the day onboard a slave ship while being whipped by a shirtless Asian cabana boy. -

Washington tried to throw it away by putting in Grilli's bag of nothing against the heart of the Yankee order to work out his post-DL kinks. If O'Day was worth bringing in for one batter last inning, isn't it worth letting him stay in or turning to someone else to hold this game? I know innings need to be spread out, but it's a chance to take momentum from NYY. Also, Angels lose again to the Tigers. With Edwin Jackson going tomorrow, the Canines have a good shot at a sweep. If we can get within 2-3 before the next round against them, I like our chances at the division. Much more to come on this game when I get home tomorrow night -- that was the most intense and emotionally unstable baseball game I have ever witnessed. I have 49 photos, a free associated Twitter account and a notepad to try to piece it back together on the plane ride home tomorrow night. -
Since we've been getting along so well lately, I thought I'd give this one more try. I know you weren't trying to be funny here - but that is what made this amusing. Let's say I take your text and add in an old Mean Green favorite: I mean, that's borderline suspendable! Trust me, I know better than most that we are not allowed to comment on the boys like this. Having said that, here's to more great practices and a great 12-0 season!

Jon Stewart Vs. Glenn Beck

Letterman/Palin You're really going to drag on a debate on whether the practice of boycotting sponsors is a brand new, partisan thing? This gets dumber every day. -
Sweet merciful crap - you are impossible. Any hots in the group of men you saw enter the field, or do you subscribe to the "rather have a bushel of 7s and 8s than a couple of 10s" theory?
-
Just to clarify for the group so there's no hard feelings, no one is discounting the opinions you expressed. I just found the glowing review of the boys funny and LongJim got worried someone kidnapped you from your computer after you left that "I" on a line by itself.

I'm taking a guy from our ops engineering department who asked that I not wear any Rangers merchandise because he thinks New Yorkers will charge us and beat us. My compromise is to wear my Davis t-shirt under generic business clothes and rip them off if he goes yard. -

It was a good line - but you also make a valid point with it. The Young contract is going to seem bad enough in two years (as much as I love the guy) without adding anything north of $3-4M per for Byrd. I'll miss him, but we should be able to cover it. Also, if you're counting down like me, only a few more weeks of having to watch Blalock and Jones. -
Never. You can't hold the mentally disabled responsible for these sorts of things. They just don't know any better.

Here are the parts that offended me: (A priest?) Also, if you stop and read that, please appreciate the fact that Andy Thorpe is a really good speller and writer. You can never have too many Rs in the word freshmen.

An outfield with Cruz and Borbon scares me. It's going to be a tag-and-go fest sandwiched between errors and poor routes on balls. Is there a Mike Maddux for developing defensive outfielders?
