  1. Texas - the #1 logo whore in all of college sports (and proud of it as they ahve the most money), should not be looking down their noses at a team fulfilling a sponsorship. That aside, REDNECKS!

  3. From the article I linked to: It goes on...just in case people like facts when debating. "Student Athlete B" said Miller was looking up at the coach as Leavitt came quickly toward him. Leavitt then grabbed Miller by his throat and struck Miller's head twice with an open hand. "Student Athlete B" told investigators that he was certain he had witnessed a crime. He also said he was unable to sleep or eat because of what he had witnessed and categorized it as "an assault." He added he felt betrayed and said he believed Leavitt had violated the program's values and standards.
  4. A successful alum who supports the program. If we had more of those, that'd be one thing, but unless you want to see "Distinguished Fire Fighter Takes Reigns of Fundraising Club" headline, it's probably going to take a bit longer to find the qualified alums we would all prefer.
  5. Rudy, I know you think I pick on you, so I'll just say back up to the thread, read from the first post and then see how everyone involved comes across. I doubt it will make a difference, but I'm pretty sure it's the only hope of solving this stand-off.
  6. It's funny how the obnoxious Texas fans (or any other school) seem to find the people most interested in showing the world how much they don't care for said school.
  7. They moved Chiles to WR. I was wondering if he might come in after the half.
  8. I want to hear more about the whole "We would have beaten them bad with McCoy" quote. I've only heard it alluded to by coworkers and lack the energy to look it up. The only bad part is that it will enable Emmitt for another 400 years.

  10. So, if big programs start letting their backups run the offense in the second half in all it's glory, how much will we complain when it happens to us?

  12. That's true. He also has a chance to get the ball back with a minute left down two scores in the final game of the season with a slim shot at the title. He has a defense that has been good for him all season and made it's share of big stands. Why would he take any chance of a comeback away from his team to hold down the final margin? If Bama had no timeouts and scored, I'd see your point, but I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
  13. I love seeing myself in that picture.
  14. Why would Mack not take the timeouts? That would be inexcusable.
  15. Actually, that's exactly the list I almost typed...with Delaware State replaced by Alcorn for irony. But hey, we have guys who could go help other mid-majors. Let's be fair here.
  16. Because Texas could hold them, get the ball back with around a minute left needing two scores to win or tie, score quickly and recover an onside kick and score again. Not likely, but possible especially based on all the special teams mishaps for Bama.
  17. I'm not just talking about making complaints. I'm talking about making statements not founded on reality -- both ways. We have more than our share of that; especially per capita. GMG has a tapestry of folks on all sides of every debate, be it sports-related, political or other, who manage to be (gagging as I type it) "douchey". I don't think many Belt schools thought we handled success all that well when we were winning every conference game we played. I also recall threads being locked and shut down when our players who were better than what everyone else had were second-guessed or called out in bowl games or big ooc match-ups. It happens everywhere, just at relative levels of intensity. I'm sure there's a program at a level beneath us that would gladly take Riley, Tune or anyone else this board has complained about as well.
  18. Wait, this is your standard -- saying dumb things and being out of touch with reality on their fan boards? 2 thoughts: 1.) Can we just retire the word douche? 2.) *cough* I write Monday Morning Recaps because we do the same things *cough*
  19. Almost jealous of you right now. Godspeed and enjoy the new lady friend, you terrible human being.
  20. Greg McElroy's broken ribs are also too small to play at the D-I level.
  21. I'm just interested in making sure Kindle makes it home safely after the game tonight.
  22. Fixed. I think the layoff favors Texas and have an odd feeling about an upset I'd like to be wrong about. As much credit as Saban gets, I think I saw he's only 4-6 in bowl games with said layoffs. If this game was played the second week of December, give me Bama 31-13. I have been saying they are the best team in the country since we played them (look it up, I dare you). Now, with Muschamp having time to prepare, I'll say Texas 16-13. The last quarter will be interesting to great, and then we will all fawn over how great the rest of the "defensive struggle" was. I really just hope we will learn a little bit more about Colt McCoy and Shipley being not only teammates, but roommates.
  23. Handstand?
  24. I've been posturing to be Rick's #74 for years with no luck. I think it's the homophobia.
