I'm as big a Beethoven fan as the next guy, but this seems extreme. -

Could you imagine being an M's fan right now? All that pitching and they've scored 25 runs less than us... -

Bold prediction: We'll be up 5 by June Things are going to pick up in the division and the Angels will not stay down forever, but I think 90 will get this done. The May and June schedule for us is (seemingly) super-soft, but the second half of July and August looks like a real beotch. And yes, I often stare at my wall calendar wistfully at work. -

JJ and Damp are gone - with Damp's expiring contract being one of your main chips for a sign-and-trade. Terry's god-awful contract is tough, but hopefully he can somehow be number friendly to make a deal work for someone. The worst part about last night wasn't Terry's shooting, it was how the Spurs just passed the ball patiently until they could pick Terry apart with whoever his guy was. Kidd is still great and showed that for 2/3rds of the season, but wore down because Carlisle rode him so hard all year (and had the flu). Cut his minutes and share them with Roddy B with Kidd more actively mentoring him, bring back Gooden, re-sign Heywood and then take your chances in the trade market this summer for someone else. The window is closing, but it is very much within reason for this team to put together a summer that keeps them as a top four seed for next year. Oh, and if Dirk opts out, I'll immediately follow his new team until he retires. -

I agree that Ricky Martin's viewpoint shouldn't be news (but at least he was speaking at a music industry event that was already being covered), but there's maybe a little bit of irony for calling him out for offering his opinion within a message board thread of (as far as I can tell) all white guys offering their opinions. I haven't actually made up my mind on what I think about this law yet, but I don't see a promising way to remove profiling and other backlash once it moves from theory to implementation. -

I strongly support this viewpoint - except for the walk part. I usually take the car after I spy on you in the bushes for a few hours. -

I'm too lazy to look it up, but didn't MLB just prohibit its writers from Tweeting about anything other than baseball? I like Twitter as an information gathering source and a place to shout into a vacuum publicly to JayDub, Aztecskin, CaribbeanGreen, FilmerJ and a handful of others, but an RSS feed and unlimited texting can do just about the same for me, and not get me fired. I'm fascinated by the backlash and even contraction of social media and, as a person who walks a line between calling it all bullshit in an industry that slobbers over it, will be glad to see it continue to contract. -
Ever randomly realize how much you've missed Longjim while sipping a Snapple and surfing Redtube on the company dime? Me neither.

If Bacsik had just wondered aloud how Spurs fans would be able to travel and see their team play the Suns without legal hassle, it would have been savvy political commentary. -

Mariners series starts tomorrow... NOT A COINCIDENCE! Ask this guy! -
As much as it pains me to join step with the national association of unnecessary, unchecked and unbridled Texas hate: David Greene had the winningest QB record before Colt. Anyone besides Georgia fans care? In fact, I'd argue that if you're the winningest college QB (regardless of school) and your national title/Heisman mantle is empty, either you were overrated or your coaching staff let you down.

Caught the opening of Diamond Talk last night and thought you all handled everything well. I'll be honest, Mavs Mike was a total beating for me, but I really loved baseball/Rangers Mike. There's an obvious solution here: Have Najera* lobby Cumulus directly for his spot back and delete his Twitter account. *If he's over the song, that is. -

It sucks, but if Harden is never going to stay healthy, turning Millwood into two effective bullpen pitchers (Ray and Harden) while clearing space for young pitchers doesn't bother me as much as it probably should. I'm glad we're at a point where we can shuffle him out if he blows rather than sitting through another Chan Ho experience of giving him the ball because of his contract. Meanwhile, the real prize as we wait for ownership to get figured out is Ol' Grienke, just sitting over in KC, throwing gems and still losing games... /puts on red glasses with blue frames And for all the BS so far this year, it's a 2.5 game deficit with the lead dog going head-to-head with the Rays this week. If we're in that position by June and get the ownership stuff straightened out by July, there's still plenty of time for magic. -

*cough* Vince Young *cough* Although I doubt we ever do a suicide sweep for Rusty Smith, but I used to say the same thing about Roman Lyashenko. -

I like it, but why not fast-track Scheppers? Isn't his shoulder a ticking time bomb anyway? Also, Harrison could be a bullpen guy when Hunter and Holland are up here. -
Mavs Playoffs
Quoner replied to MEANGREENMAN!'s topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I like this post because it captures the Spurs and Mavs fanbases perfectly. For the Spurs, a basic ignorance of the rules of the game and how the record is kept and for the Mavs, an over-celebration of a meaningless record. -
I think I hopefully remembered to say this at the tailgate he was at last year, but, if not, Smitty is one hell of a good dude and one hell of a designer.
