  1. Won't be the same without seeing #78 running down the field creating havoc for the oppositions Punt Return Unit. Mr. Dunham, you sir have some good size shoes to fill!
  2. No chance Stock is on the playing field next season but that doesn't mean he couldn't decide to come back and be ready for 2013 season.
  3. I believe attendance without being charged would be against NCAA Rules and strictly forbidden.
  4. Someone messed up and incorrectly updated this years directory for Men's Basketball instead of next years. Your link is for 2011-2012, current season. If you look at 2012-2013 everything looks good.
  5. Totally different. There are Pre-Training Camp Tryouts where players are invited to work out (No Contract involved at all), where they are evaluated and some will get a call to sign a contract. The Team will pick up the tab for flight or pay milage and then pay for their Room and Board while attending. The Undrafted Free Agents (Signed to a League Minimum 3-4 year contract) generally gets a player through OTA's and into training camp until the team decides to release them, up to and including the Cut Down dates, during preseason. UFA's get daily per diem's and free room and board through training camp or until they are released/waived. Practice Squad isn't created until after the final roster has been announced, if you don't make the final roster you are cut and will have to sign a new contract if brought back to the practice or active squad. Players signed to the practice squad get weekly checks in the amounts specified in the CBA which is much less than the UFA Contract (League Minimum divided by 17 games = weekly check), but still good money ( >$5000/week).
  6. Sounds like most weekday practices will be of the 6am variety. Saturdays seem to be scheduled for scrimmages.
  7. If the conference realignments are all about TV, it would only make sense that one of the grades/requirements would be facilities conducive to broadcasting from that location. I can't believe FIU would pass since they make broadcasters perch on the top of the stadium completely exposed to the Florida elements except for a canvas tent. I cannot see ESPN/ESPN Broadcasters putting up with what George and Hank have the past 2 trips to FIU.
  8. When you get together with the other players and their parents, you will find out that MOST of players did not just settle for UNT and in fact chose UNT over other supposedly equal or higher rated programs.
  9. Included on the list of invitees are players from Mass-Amherst, Midwestern State, Portland State, Merrimack, Cal Poly, Hampton, Costal Carolina, Furman, and Samford to name a few. I don't think any of these are even NCAA FBS but they were invited. The record or division of the school you come makes no difference to the NFL.
  10. NFL Scouting is all about the players, not the record of their school. These days every NCAA FBS, FCS, D2, D3, NAIA college/university with a football team gets one or more visits from NFL Scouts. The NFL uses National and Regional Services who share their reports with all the NFL Teams. In addition, each team will have their own scouts and many belong to scouting pools with other teams which have agreed to fund the scouting budget. Whether a team is winning or losing plays no part in players getting a LOOK or not. Very rare that a player gets overlooked in todays NFL, but it does happen, which is why the NFL instituted Regional Combines just to find that gem than might have fallen through the cracks.
  11. Fun Fact: James Battle is currently playing QB for the TUFL DC Rhinos up in Sanger.
  12. The ones posted in this thread are mostly one day results, so keep that in mind. Check out the FB Site to get a real understanding how each player is doing over the long haul.
  13. Grey shirts don't enroll Full Time until the Spring Semester and that is when the eligibility clock starts ticking (5 years to play 4) so No, they still are available for Redshirt anytime during those 5 years.
  14. Senior Bowl Officals, Scouts, other professional football Officials, Agents(to a certain extent)are the ones determining participants not the players college administation. Pretty much the same thing in regards to the combine. For a player to be invited to a Senior Bowl or the Combine, there has to be significant interest in said college player from officials associated with the professional leagues.
  15. A verbal Commmittment is non-binding in the world of college athletics, everyone knows it or at least the student athlete and coaches. On the other hand a LOI is a contract with penalties for breaking that contract. Until the school delivers the LOI and the student athlete signs said LOI, nothing is binding. I don't think it has anything to do with the kids character when verbal committments are being given out when kids are Sophomores and Juniors in High School. A kid backing out of a LOI is a completely different story in my book and at that point character comes into play in my opinion.
  16. Just an FYI - You can Transfer single game season tickets via the UNT Ticket site and print them out from your computer. Not sure if Parking passes are included (Think Not). Just wanted to let folks know this is an option instead of trying to hook up for a ticket exchange.
  17. They've been in the Game Notes every week since our opening game at FIU.
  18. Hines was the last one released from last years staff. There were lengthy discussions about keeping him on board.
  19. No, not just Hines. The offensive play calling was a factor along with Riley and other injuried players getting back, change in defensive play calling by a DC long gone, ALL players playing with passion either in support of Chico or in support of ex-Coach Dodge, along with many other reasons.
  20. If you were in the metroplex and not at Apogee Saturday, SHAME ON YOU unless you were physically at the Rangers game!

  21. Deep Quad Contusion, plant leg. Jury is still out but should be alright.
  22. It was NOT Tipped, punter turned his hips to keep the ball from being touched.
  23. Deans classification has been wrong since he walked on. This will be his Senior and final year of eligibility.
  24. I remember Serrano taking a few KO's but I can't remember if it was over several games or just the first game. Olen and Atterberry took the bulk of the KO's last year but Deans handled the FG's and XP's until Olen took over.
