I'm happy for 3-1 with a loss against a P4. But let's be honest, we saw weaknesses in the first 2 that were overwhelmed by the play of our offense, and those weaknesses were on full display at Tech. This win is great. No question about that. But let's not overlook just how bad Wyoming is. Conference time. Just win, baby!

I'd chip in on a "punt or go for it?" choice. Set up competing QR codes on two big screens and the coach has to follow the $$.

UTSA and Traylor likely heading to Pac12

I also note the AAC commissioner just coincidently happened to be at UNT today, per a Facebook post by "Mean Green Sports". -

If that were the case, why would the 4 MWC teams move to the PACx? Obviously the insiders there know something that isn't obvious on the surface. -
The names have value. Even casual football fans have heard of Tulane and Memphis. One simply can't say the same of Temple or North Texas.

When we were 1-AA, we have to get out of this division When we were independent, we have to get into any conference Guess what -- each of those is correct. And when/if we get to the 2PAC, the immediate plan should be looking for the next bigger better deal. One thing to remember, in each move from Independent to Big West to Sunbelt to CUSA to AAC, in *every* case the teams we expected to play were on their way out. So the EXACT SAME PLAN is working for everyone else.

Tech could have hung a hundred+ on North Texas if they wanted to. In some ways, I wish they would have.

The PAC might elevate us 2-4 places in the AAC. So that's a positive. -

One problem is that nobody in the athletic department views UNT as a final position. Everyone (now including the players) appears to be looking for the Bigger Better Deal and doing the bare minimum to keep the current gig. -

Every time UNT has a chance to make a good impression it stumbles. EVERY. <CURSEWORD>. TIME. I've been a fan since 1988 and this just kills me. And of course it occurs when the PAC is starting to look east. -
UNT has been forever relegated to the basement due to NIL. The history of this institution has been a series of logical decisions that turned into disasters over and over, and the end result has put us in precisely the wrong spot at the worst time. There's no point in cheering high school signings, because if there is a breakout player they'll be yanked away by a P4 team. UNT cannot compete on a dollar-to-dollar basis. There's not enough intangibles (history, alumni network) to keep someone here when the payday is elsewhere. People love winners. Mediocre teams just have too much competition for things to do in the MetroMess. I see a long line of 5-7 seasons ahead. That will translate directly to an empty stadium, and indirectly to an apathetic alumni base. So, yay? Cheer for the Green and White? I have to say that the connection to a school that I attended in the last century is growing tenuous indeed.

30 hours without power so far. A good thing that I bought a portable generator after The Big Freeze. Window AC and fans are managing to keep the room comfortable. Still no cable internet, but a phone hotspot is doing ok. I'm going to lose a lot of frozen food 😞 Still, it's better than having a tornado take the house out. I can't complain too much.

I was there. That was the second screw job by the refs that game. -
https://billfarley.substack.com/p/the-pac-2s-contracts-with-the-mwc The interesting thing is that 2Pac is not required to take ALL the MWC if they choose to rebuild the PacX.

I think Michigan wins, but I'm rooting for Washington. It strikes my fancy that the Pac12 would win a Championship just before imploding.

I think the roadmap is to not be competitive in the ACC until they can buy their way into non-competition in the B1G
