  1. Here's perspective: since UNT's return to top level football in 1995, the team has won almost exactly 40% of their games at 122-203 (and 20% of bowl games). That means if this team goes 5-7, it's actually above average for our school.
  2. It's not 1 game. It's everything since 2019. To recap: 4-8, 4-6, 6-7 (with a bowl loss), 1-1 with a high-profile blowout. Even in the winning seasons, he loses the bowl games (0-5)
  3. I'm tired of the "talent" argument. I'd buy that argument if he was here a year or two, but he's been here long enough that the whole team is his guys. One of the most important things a head coach is supposed to do at the college level is recruit. Where's the pipeline, where's the development, where are the results? Don't blame the conference either, UTSA is right down the road and they can hang with any reasonable expectations.
  4. Remember, we were chosen for the "whole package", not what happens on the field. Right? Isn't that what folks were saying last year? (anyone know if our volleyball team is good? Or rowing?)
  5. As a complete aside, does anyone else think Phil Bennett looks like Stephen Root playing a coach?
  6. Ah, the forward punt. Always a favored play for the offense.
  7. Might as well get this started . . .
  8. I'm pretty sure I've seen this game before.
  9. I can't wait for that email from the Athletic Department about buying tickets for the next games.
  10. IT'S NOT A SHUTOUT! HURRRRAH!
  11. The TV production looks terrible after the UH/UTSA game on the same channel. Honest question -- who is responsible for TV production? Is it still NTTV or does CUSA have their own crews?
  12. Well this has turned out interesting indeed
  13. Cougars. From what I can remember, I apparently had a great 1 semester at that school

  15. I expect "normal" for UNT. 6-6 and a loss in the WhoCares Bowl on Dec 13 at 2 PM. This game doesn't change that. I'd love to be wrong, but 33 years of fandom tells me to temper expectations.
  16. One thing about this UTEP game -- it's making me realize that if we somehow got a miracle PAC12 invite, I'd never stay awake through a whole game.
  17. I suppose it's a good thing Mr. Bennet isn't miked up 🙂
  18. I'm just glad we didn't start with Austin Peay
  19. Argh, out-of-sync mouths annoy me so much. Great work, Stadium. And I'm watching on over-the-air, so it's in the broadcast itself.
  20. And to think the entire UNT schedule was on broadcast TV their first season to return to Div IA. Now we need 8 streaming services. Hurrah CUSA!
  21. I don't know if it's still the case, but when KNTU went to 100K watts (I was a student DJ then), there was some special directional tuning in place to keep it from blanketing other stations. It was explained to me that meant the signal was actually weaker in the metromess than the power indicated.
