  1. "Pac 12 football players have created a list of “demands” 4 the Pac-12/Universities 2 take into consideration, if the demands aren’t addressed/complied w/ the players R threatening to sit out the season..There is significant support growing among ALL 12 teams with 50 or More players on many of teams in support of this action/demands list," Carpenter tweeted. "The initial idea was 2 create a players union, they decided time didn’t allow 4 this & figure the best way to create the change they want is 2 “boycott” the season. read more: https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/sec-football/pac-12-players-boycott-2020/
  2. DENTON, Texas — It's a nightmare to imagine, but it's becoming a reality for many colleges in America: a fall without football. "If the decision had to be made today, we wouldn't play," admitted Wren Baker, athletic director at the University of North Texas. read more: https://www.wfaa.com/mobile/article/sports/the-impact-of-covid-19-on-college-football-other-fall-sports-in-2020/287-a477cd8d-d410-483e-a48f-6e0f2cc37e40
  3. Could this bring Rico back in the fold?
  4. 33. Kevin Greene N VERBAL COMMIT 7/13/2020 NORTH TEXAS 6'3" | 285 LBS | DT | 2021 DEL CITY DEL CITY, OK Breakdown: Another Del City prospect that makes the list that has a great frame and does a nice job using his hands to keep blockers away from his body. Greene isn't a player likely to be an elite pass rusher up the middle but has the body to hold up and be a strong run defender. read more: https://oklahoma.rivals.com/news/new-names-in-2021
  5. I’m thinking it may be Justin Booker-Brown a defensive lineman transfer from Garden City Kansas: https://meangreensports.com/sports/football/roster/justin-booker-brown/4635
  6. Good point.
  7. Does this mean the juco players can transfer to where they want to now?
  8. As if the coronavirus crisis wasn’t enough, college sports has another obstacle in its return to operations. To combat the spread of the virus, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced Monday that international students (and presumably athletes) whose universities switched to online classes for the fall semester will have to leave the United States or risk violating their visa status. But there is one key exemption (via the ICE website “Nonimmigrant F-1 students attending schools adopting a hybrid model—that is, a mixture of online and in person classes—will be allowed to take more than one class or three credit hours online. These schools must certify to SEVP, through the Form I-20, ‘Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status,’ certifying that the program is not entirely online, that the student is not taking an entirely online course load this semester, and that the student is taking the minimum number of online classes required to make normal progress in their degree program.” The University of Arizona announced in late April that it is planning to resume in-person classes in the fall, but UA president Robert C. Robbins recently backtracked on that, saying reopening campus amid the surge of coronavirus cases in Arizona wouldn’t be sensible. read more: https://www.azdesertswarm.com/basketball/2020/7/7/21315759/arizona-wildcats-international-student-athletes-return-campus-ice-policy-basketball-recruits
  9. I hate it but I agree 😥
  10. The 2020 season for Conference USA is headlined by uncertainty in the East Division and a clear front-runner in the West. UAB is Athlon’s projected champion in the 2020 Conference USA predictions, with coach Bill Clark’s squad anchored by a strong defense and an offense poised to improve with a healthy fall out of quarterback Tyler Johnston III and running back Spencer Brown. The East is one of the more difficult divisions to predict in college football. WKU is Athlon’s pick to win it, but Marshall, FAU and Charlotte should all be in the mix. Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech headline the next tier in the West Division, followed by Rice and North Texas as potential bowl teams. UTSA and UTEP round out the bottom of the West. Middle Tennessee and FIU should push for postseason trips out of the East, but Old Dominion is likely a year away from contention. Athlon Sports has released its preseason magazine for 2020, and now it's time to preview and predict the conferences. Below are Athlon's picks and projections for Conference USA in 2020: Read more: https://athlonsports.com/college-football/conference-usa-football-2020-predictions
  11. Jordan Brown made his commitment to play college football at North Texas before the 2019 season, but his journey with the Mean Green didn’t officially begin until late last month. The former Huntsville standout arrived in Denton on June 22, and has been working out with the team since. Brown notes that outside of some early jitters, everything has “been really good.” “When I first started working out I was kind of nervous, but then you find out it's kind of like high school,” he said. “It's a little more intense, but you just have to be mentally strong and it's all the same.” Brown, who shared honors as District 10-5A, Division II’s Defensive MVP last season, recognizes that his time with the Hornets helped prepare him to take his talents to the next level. “That program played a big part in this,” he added. “With that program, you have to be mentally tough to get through some of the things ... and that's helped me get through these workouts in college.” The versatile linebacker led the district’s top defense in 2019, recording 97 tackles, four sacks, 12 tackles for loss, two interceptions, one fumble recovery and one defensive touchdown in nine regular season games. He proceeded to come up big in the postseason, helping the Hornets notch a pair of playoff victories. read more: https://www.itemonline.com/sports/huntsville-prepared-jordan-brown-for-start-of-north-texas-football-career/article_01752e60-c143-11ea-8c30-7bcd1efcdc2c.html
  12. The longer they can drag it out the more donations and season tickets they can sell to offset their losses. No doubt, this deal is going to be extremely tough on Smatresk and the like. These million dollar coaching salaries have been insulated based on revenue. How can a college charge as much when it will all be online???
  13. The lower level leagues are slated to decide first. I think Ivy leauge will decide on this wednesday. California schools are all a no at this time to my understanding. My guess is they will pair teams regionally and bus to centralized locations that are safe. There will not be many if any fans in the stands but they will have screens in the tailgating areas. There is no way that Old Dominion is going to fly their kids to El Paso no damn way. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/ivy-league-coaches-expect-2020-college-football-season-to-be-moved-to-spring-2021-per-report/
  14. Hopefully they will wise up and do what baseball is doing and have a regional schedule. We should be paired with SMU, TCU, Baylor and OU as we could bus to games and it would be safer.
  15. I’m starting to get really depressed thinking about it.
