  3. Minutemen on the treacherous road again at North Texas Within the friendly confines of the Mullins Center, the Minutemen have been unstoppable. They’re a perfect 5-0 in Amherst and are outscoring opponents by 13 points per game. In all other arenas (both true road games and neutral site tournament contests), UMass (6-4) has stumbled. The Minutemen are 1-4 away from home, and their only win came in overtime against UNC Greensboro. They’ll leave New England for just the second time all season when they face North Texas at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. It’s not the Mean Green’s home arena, but they only have to travel 40 miles compared to more than 1,700 for the Minutemen. read more: https://www.gazettenet.com/UMass-basketball-on-the-road-again-at-Noth-Texas-43958717

  6. Looking to buy them before they sell out.
  7. You an resell it as both games will be a sellout. Unless they allow people to use the tickets for both events? Either way you will be ok.
  8. And we hired his daughter. Not getting too much players out of that investment if he gets canned.
  9. Hard to believe that Cincy has earned a spot as the 1st G5 program in the college football playoff. Also amazing to think that UNT will join the AAC which now will boast the first ever G5 playoff squad. This is a very exciting time to be a part of North Texas athletics!
  10. Agreed. I worry that some fans won't get to experience the bowl game because it will sell out so quickly.
  11. Again I think is by choice for UNT. Seth really really needs to win this bowl game. He has not won a bowl game yet and is 0-4.
  12. I would also add it is absolutely imperative that they get an opponent they can beat. Seth and our program just can't have another drubbing. Seth is also winless in bowl games which is a problem heading into the AAC.
  13. Senior running back DeAndre Torrey entered the media room on Nov. 27 out of breath with a shirt in his hand that read “Bowl Bound” across the front. The Mississippi-raised running back was elated, as his 110 yards and three touchdowns versus No. 22 the University of Texas-San Antonio was instrumental in leading North Texas to its sixth win of the season. The game was Torrey’s last in Denton. “It’s amazing, we wouldn’t want it any other way,” Torrey said after the upset win. “I know UTSA nearly lost [their] past two games, but we were really hoping they’d win so we’d be the ones that spoiled their season.” Since his arrival, Torrey has been a driving force for the Mean Green, never playing less than nine games in a season while steadily making his way up North Texas’ offensive leaderboards. In his final season, Torrey had a chance to make history, and he did that against the University of Texas-El Paso. Torrey joined the 3,000 rushing yard club in his career with 61-yards versus UTEP and broke the 1,000 yard mark for the season versus Florida International University the following week. In four seasons, Torrey lies in the top-20 for North Texas in rushing yards (12th, 3,120), touchdowns (7th, 27) and all-purpose yards (9th, 3,324). read more: https://www.ntdaily.com/deandre-torrey-reaches-pinnacle-in-final-season-reaches-milestones/

The 62-year-old veteran coach has been let go by the school Thursday, less than a week after the Rams ended the 2021 season. Multiple sources told the Coloradoan that the team met with athletic director Joe Parker at 11 a.m., and those sources confirm the staff was pulled off the road recruiting. 17. UNT improves or maintains GSR for 12th-straight year! DENTON, Texas – North Texas Athletics posted its highest Graduation Success Rate (GSR) in program history with a score of 87, the NCAA announced Thursday. “Building Champions and Preparing Leaders is our ultimate goal here at UNT,” Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker said. “The positive increase in GSR that we see again this year shows the progress we are making as our student-athletes continue to grow, develop and graduate. I am proud of their hard work.” The overall score was a one-point increase from 2020 moving from an 86 to 87. Four UNT programs posted perfect scores of 100 (women’s golf, women’s soccer, women’s tennis and women’s volleyball). Additionally, both softball and women’s swimming and diving posted scores of 90 or better. Women’s swimming and diving (97) and football (83) both recorded program-best scores. Of the 24 NCAA Division I institutions in Texas, only five overall and just one public school had better overall GSR scores than UNT. The Mean Green ranked fifth overall in Conference USA, up one spot from 2020. UNT was behind only Rice among CUSA’s Texas members. From the time GSR data collection began with the 1995-98 cohort, UNT has improved from a score of 59 to 87 (28-point increase). The GSR was developed by the NCAA as part of its academic reform initiative to more accurately measure the academic success of Division I student-athletes by better accounting for the many different academic paths followed by today's college students. The NCAA also released the most recent federal graduation rate data in conjunction with the GSR information. The GSR holds institutions accountable for transfer students, whereas the federal graduation rate does not. The GSR also accounts for mid-year enrollees. The NCAA calculates the federal graduation rate for student-athletes because it is the only rate by which to compare student-athletes to the general student body. —GMG—
