this reminds me of last year when we penciled in a bunch of wins SMU is a must win and we better at least look like we belong on the field with Tulsa I am not holding my breath though

I agree it all goes through DD, but he will not be fired. hopefully his hand will be forced on RF and he learns that he might want to change his ways. Knowing him he may react the opposite and just maintain the status quo insuring his demise

No worries on recruiting RF is in charge of DFW and we know how that has gone It can only get better

Tennessee comes out 1 day after the season and cans 2 coaches. It sends a message to the fans that the season was unacceptable. We need to do the same. Fire Ramon and lets start looking towards 06. show that we are trying to right the ship

I know that sounds far fetched, but it would make me feel alot better hold that thought some pigs just went wizzing by my window as for a little reminiscing found this when i was searching for a new avatar.

Regardless what alot of us type on here. The truth is the people that post the most on here are also the ones who are at every home game and away game they can make. Without them. There is no program to bitch about Who accepts mediocrity and makes excuses when they are losing anyway. I think alot of this is DD's attitude coupled with results I know I would give him another chance if he would try to win games instead of trying not to lose them. or if at the end of the year he said. "This year is on me. I didn't coach up to my ability and we are going to pratice our asses off and come back bigger better and stronger. This season is unacceptable to me and my players."

i just finsihed my kool aid so bear with me. if we go 4-0 are we champs? if not could we shark a bowl invite regardless. even though we would be an ugly choice?

Plumm I can tell you the answer to the hypothetical. Its zero to 1. The Baylor win in '03 is about it. Losses to TCU(2) So. Fla(2) Air Force, Baylor, Boise etc with "The Class". First alot of those games were scheduled before "The Class" ever signed a LOI Even with Boogers class we were mediocre at best in our winnable OOC games. Also I dont think you read my post, you just came back at me with your message. You would be a good pol since it is hard for you to get off message. Nothing personal as I wish all the alums and students cared .01% as much as you do. I am not advocating slowing down or stopping progress. DD has shown me he is not the man to take us to the next level. He is what he is. Average. The sun belt is a gift and a curse to me. It has been great winning the title and the bowl trips have helped the university and the program immensely. However my self included we get all riled up at the OOC performance but then the feelings arode and we celebrate and beat our chests at the bowl. Then all offseason predict wins against OOC oppents and then get our ass handed to us DD like I said gets this year and next for me and then its search time. It is urgent we get the stadium and Eagle Point done. However this continued 6-5 record with the 6 wins in the belt and OOC debacles will only accoplish a couple things. It will take wind out of the momentum over there and it will make the national media percieve us and the belt as inferior.

Plumm I get tired of this argument of facilities & give us time etc. Some of the DD apologists speak as if we are a professional sports team and are building facilities and cultivating our minor league system. In college football its the here and now not what can we get 10 years down the road when we catch up to the big boys. Because in 10 years they will continue to widen the gap. I'm not advocating giving up pushing for progress. I am advocating that we get someone in here that is interested in bettering the situation and realizing what they are up against and working with and to change it. I would give DD 1 maybe 2 years and if we dont start being ultra competitive or win some OOC games then its been real. I'm not talking about taking on UT next year, but games like Tulsa etc. The OOC game need to leave me with a feelin of, man 1 or 2 plays our way and we win, so lets go get them next year. Those are not the feelings I have had the last 2 years. DD= Buck Showalter Hopefully our next coach is Joe Torre esque. As a Red Sox fan that pains me to type but he is damn good at what he does. However no matter what I will still trot my happy @ss out to Fouts everychance I get and support the program

Right you would assume that yet Meager has barely improved from games 1-4. Don't site the touchdown as the great offensive play it was. He had many more opportunities to sustain drives with passes an couldn't DD had to know Byerly wasn't going to make it, Meager had shoulder trouble and is still young. Basically he neglected the qb position All this may be moot a couple years down the road if everyone matures. However we are not the UT's and OU's of the world where a rebuilding years means a 7-4 record and a trip to the alamo bowl. DD needs to realize we cant afford another run like 98-01 where he was given time to get his guys in here and develop etc. We need to win now and every year and if not we need to look good losing. That may sound dumb we we need to. Whoever is saying that the playcalling was imaginative hasnt been watching the games that long.

Would you rather sell the program to a future coach at this point, coming off 4 titles and bowls, increased fan base, facilities improvements etc or in 3 years if we dont get back on track and now we are a losing program with no real plan to turn it around. The next coach that will use it as a stepping stone needs to see there is a chance he can get it done in 3-5. They dont want a 10 year stop

IMHO Meager has no poise. Granted he is a frosh and you gus may be right about the SBC landscape but its not as if we were pass happy back then Meagers emotion on the field looks to be directed outward rather than looking inward. The INT is a good example. Instead of pointing at himself or giving the nod like my bad he points at his wristband then stomps off. I lay some of this on DD for lack of foresight on Byerly and not getting a JUCO. There are two opinions floating out there about 1. We need to rebuild with the youth and glad they are all Fr etc 2. The program is at a point where we expect more I agree with both to an extent. We did need to reload, but we could have had a juco for a year or 2 and and mix in meager or phillips and possbly maintained our dominance
