What is sad about this is that Danny K. could not even get an interview here. Yes he left Underwood a great team and yes he doubled his salary , but not what we paid Benford. I have been a gig fan Rick V , but I think he missed the boat on this.

The PRIVATES(Baylor, TCU, SMU & Rice) kept us out of SWC. The only thing Hayden did wrong was not leaving all sports but football in the MVC. That set those programs back(kept the Blakeley's top 20 basketball teams out of NCAA or NIT), but I did like the changes he made in the culture. Hayden did not leave us in the lurch money wise as old heads was very jealous.

JIm, As Gray Eagle stated, I am in Terrell teaching and looking for the next Booger Kennedy. My tickets are in section 107 and Paul makes about 2 games a year with me(He lives in Bullard outside of Tyler). He and Sandy keep the Interstates hot traveling in their RV.(in Maine). Harry, Yes we are in contact with him as he is a friend of my grandson. He came to homecoming with us last year and I introduced him to the great Booger Kennedy. I've seen him play since pee wee and yes he is a stud. We need to may sure Mike Simmonds comes to the the Sachse spring game May 21st. Ron

As you can see I do not post here much, but Harry, I would hope that people would stop being hung up on ratings # of stars. I have been around NT for over 40 years and the talent in Texas is so great let the coaches evaluate and coach 'em. We need to mine the talent like TCU and Houston has in the past. Some of our best players haven't had any stars like the great BRANDON (BOOGER ) KENNEDY, CYRIL LEMON , RONNIE SHANKLIN and STEVE RAMSEY just to name a few. Kennedy is prime example and last year SMUt started recruiting Brandon after we did and the Coppel lineman after we did. Also I think UNT & FIU will be competitive from the start in CUSA.

THE SAME THING WAS SAID AFTER JIMMY JOHNSON'S DEBUT WITH THE COWBOYS AND LOOK WHO HAD THE LAST LAUGH!!! SOME NFL COACH SAID JIMMY WASN'T PLAYING EAST CAROLINA GET A GRIP PEOPLE.

To add to the comments already made Hayden was pushing for SWC membership, but would have stayed until the MVC athletic directors & presidents took Indiana State and Southern Illinois. THey voted for these 2 school and Fry had agreement if they added those two they would add Southern Miss to help the southern schools with football and travel. The rest stabbed us (Fry) in the back so he wanted to stay in basketball and other sports, but independent in football. The MVC powers that be wouldn't allow it so he went totally independent.

Stebo & Harry, I too like Stebo post and being a season ticket (at least 3 a year) for 33 years, I have yet to see a coach use the us against the world attitude as much as DD!! That said would someone research how many victories we have against 1A teams with winning records in the last 7 years.(I say Cinncinati(NOB) and Texas Tech). I will still support NT with MY $, TIME AND ENERGY, but I know some people say that's like saying you support everything going on!! and I had an alum tell me just that. On another thread someone says for RV to tell DD to hire an OC, but that can't happen with the way things are now. MeanGreenPOP and Mom thanks for supporting NT with your sons and attendance and enthusiasm!

I WORRY THAT WE WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE EXCUSES INSTEAD OF PRODUCING A PROGRAM THAT DOESN'T COMPETE AT HOME WITH THE TULSAS OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL. I'VE GONE TO NORTH TEXAS GAMES FOR 37 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER SEEN US BEAT BY 50 POINTS AND I'M SURE GRAY EAGLE & SILVER CAN SAY THE SAME. I ALSO WAS THERE TUESDAY AND WANT TO COMMEND RV AND STAFF FOR GETTING A GREAT CROWD WITH A GREAT ATMOSPHERE AND WISHED HAYDEN OR CORKY COULD COACH THIS INEXPIERNCED TALENT. CORKY COMPETED AND WON TX TECH, RICE & NEW MEXICO WITH 65 SCHOLARSHIP. I'M WORRIED THAT WE ARE GOING TO LOSE RV THE WAY WE LOST DR. POHL, BECAUSE OF THE POWERS IN PLACE.
