FFR's jorts should coach this team!
-
When the Dallas Morning News runs a story about your defense being ranked #119 out of #120 in two categeories..... yards given up and points given up.... I don't consider that being a "drama queen"....but to answer your question... "yes" Just wait until the polls come out... we will drop from # 116 to # 119 o4 # 120. Yeah, North Texas!!!!!!

www.firetodddodge.com I never thought I would long for the days of Darrell Dickey. For the love of Firefighter Rick's jorts! Will we win a game this year????????

In UTAH, DD will only be able to get caffine free soda products due to the LDS! UTAname='emmitt01' date='Feb 9 2007, 04:35 PM' post='261431'] This isn't in the papers yet but I have it on good authority, having gone out drinking in Denton with him last night, that Diet Coke Boy probably won't be retained this next year. He's pretty broken up over it and here's the real stinky part of the whole ordeal. He has tried calling Todd Dodge no less than 12 times in the last few weeks and hasn't received a single reply. He's had offers to pour Dr. Pepper at Baylor and even Tea at Manchester United but he believes that DD (and by association NT) made a commitment to him to be our Diet Coke Boy. Well, now the offers at Baylor and Manchester U are off the table as they have gone a different direction. When will this Dodge guy stop embarrassing our fine university? This will be huge when some backwater publication gets ahold of it. Hell, I think it'll probably cancel out the months of positive press that Todd Dodge has brought us. I mean, it it wasn't going to then why would I have put it on the board for everyone to fret about? Oh, one more thing, I asked Diet Coke Boy if he ever called DD at Utah State to ask about their soft drink distribution needs, or maybe called around to see if any other universities need his services, and he replied "Nah, I thought I'd just wait for my phone to ring."

DaMN Area Top 100 2007 Recruits
Mean Green Sig replied to Buford_Julep's topic in Mean Green Football
I thought SMU was "bottom of the barrel" too since they usually end up with one of the worst records in Division 1-A football. Some how they still can SIGN several Top Area recruits and have many others that are considering SMU as a possibility. -
DaMN Area Top 100 2007 Recruits

Quite frankly, it's embarassing that UNT cannot get even 1 "AREA TOP 100" to sign. Even worse is that only a couple of the TOP 100 even are considering UNT. As stated above, SMU has signed at least 3 of the AREA TOP 100 and there are many others that are at least considering SMU as one their schools. -
I guess the guys that decide who gets invited to the Doak Walker Award feel somewhat vendicated now that the NCAA Rushing Champ from two years ago did not even get drafted and is probably going to Canada. I was one of the Mean Green fans that was up-in-arms that the Doak Walker people snubbed North Texas two years in a row..... but looks like maybe they were right (I hate to admit)

You know you are a Mean Green fan if .............

If you think 3rd and 12 is a great time for a draw play. -
Did anyone else read the Dallas Morning News Sports Day on Christmas Day? They listed the Top 100 Area, State and National Recuits and their choices. Would you believe that not one of the Top 100 Area recruits even had UNT as a consideration. I saw plenty of guys considering Tulsa, SMU, U of H, UTEP ..... but not 1 guy even listed UNT as a possibility. What does that say about our recruiting of top athletes here in our own back yard. On a side note..... Fox Sports ranked the Bowl games to watch. No surprise that the New Orleans Bowl was dead last! Even the San Diego County Empolyee Credit Union Bowl ranked above the New Orleans Bowl. So, please no more posts on how great it was to win 4 conference championships in the absolutely worst conference in Division I-A and to go to the worst bowl game there is. What else does it say about the program that when we go to the worst bowl game that we get smoked 3 out of the 4 years. This is not a good football program!

The Gift the Keeps on Giving!

Undisciplined football and stupid penalties is the Hallmark of Dickey football! -
Dickey owes us an apology and an explaination
Mean Green Sig replied to Mean Green Sig's topic in Mean Green Football
4 confernce wins in the absolute worst conference in Division I-A football. Many of those wins came against pitiful competition. The real indicator on how the program is progressing is how we do against better competition. We have all seen what happens when we play teams that are even mid majors. -
Dickey and Flannigan owe us an apology and an explaination for the entire 2005 season.
-
Just imagine if these guys played for a big time program..... if they can't take the heat from some well deserved critisicm on gomeangreen.com then there is no way they could have played at a big time school where the fans really let the players hear it.
-
Brilliant!!!!!!
-
typical!
-
Not to sound mean or anything....but is 40th in the nation really worth crowing about???????
-
So it's more appealing to play in Boise, Idaho than in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area?????
-
Winning a normal OOC game gives the program credibility, whereas beating beating Arkansas State does nothing but prove we are the best of the worst. Tap the breaks on the NO Bowl. There is a reason why it is the first bowl game of the year and why they are lucky to get an attendance of 20,000 people there and why no one knows it's even on tv.
-
Here is the bottom line. You can go back to Div. I-AA and bring in second rate small schools like we did for years and have an attendance of 5,000 people..... like it was during much of the 80's and early 90's....or you could try to compete in Div. I-A like we are doing now. However, you are not going to get students, fans or even recruits interested in UNT football unless you move beyond the 2nd rate schools of the Sun Belt and you are at the very least competitive with schools like Tulsa or K-State.... and you have to start bringing bigger name schools to Denton to play. Face it, the Mean Green's following is very small.

I just checked. www.firedarrelldickey.com is an available website if anyone wants to get that up and running!

How bad with Troy beat us on ESPN2?
