NM Green

The only thing I liked about playing ULM, NLU was that I have nice memories of trips out there. The first was a bus ride with Mean Green crazy students when I was a freshman in Clark Hall. It was the playoffs and we packed that bus in an attempt to cheer the Green deep into the playoffs. We lost the game but the trip was a blast. I then went to two tailgates out there, most recently last week and it was fun. They have a sweet tailgate area and a drive thru daquiri bar across from campus. Outstanding! NLU was also the closest thing I have ever felt to a rivalry back in the Southland days. GMG

I don't like either program and the game was only marginally interesting. The real fun drama comes in watching what happens at Texas. Do you keep Mack with: 1. You can't beat OU anymore and it doesn't like you will be able to in the forseeable future. Stoops brothers will only get stronger. 2. Texas A&M is emerging as the most interesting team in the state and with Johnny Football at the helm they are poised to become the Oregon of SEC with a lot of fans foaming at the mouth to watch him play next - see me and Missouri tomorrow night. 3. You have a small private school in Fort Worth coming into your house and beating you down on national tv, and you invited them in and they are here to stay. TCU kicked off the shoes, grabbed a cold pop out of the fridge and grabbed the remote without asking permission. 4. Baylor knows how to beat #1. 5. West Virginia, see number 3 only they are a school tucked into the mountains of coal country. However, Mack got you a good record this year, so how do you eliminate a coach who keeps you bowling and on the high side of 500 every single year? Interesting indeed. GMG

Watching Texas whoever on T night is only slightly more interesting than the LHN itself. That was pretty boring football yesterday after that great Texans Detroit game. GMG

I'm already down with the coordination of a pep rally on the Riverwalk followed by a takeover of the Howl at the Moon Bar on Friday night! We must reserve a hotel in stumbling distance to the party zone and Dome. GMG

And in other revelations...How about those weather days this year! I was just glad Sunday weather wasn't Saturday weather. I can deal with 50 mph winds and blowing tents and furniture up on The Hill over rain and chill any day of the week. We had to build a wall to start our grill and then deal with some dirt debris in the burger but it was a blast! Awesome year of tailgating! GMG

Totally enjoyed it! So happy we had wind yesterday versus clouds and rain like today. The team opened and closed Apogee 2012 with wins! I saw the team win in Boca Raton. I saw the team win on national tv from California. It has been a strange season but an overall FUN and memorable one. Now onto ULM and Shreveport for some blackjack. GO Mean Green!!!!!

It's sad that I almost preferred to hear the recorded version of the fight song over the sound system just so we could once again yell in unison. It was one of the ONLY times we yelled in unison as a fanbase - really sad this change was made to satisfy the students versus the alums and fans who have invested in this program for decades. I just can't imagine A&M juking with the Aggie War Hymn or Texas Fight being adjusted to satisfy the occupiers. I bet those fanbases would rise up and beat down the idiots with sound or something. U-N-T- Eagles Fight Fight Fight! GMG

As a follower since 86 I was disgusted with the change. I am Mean Green through and through but this is worse than the stupid claw change. Going from NTSU to UNT Eagles was easy and seems to have been fine for 26 years. What the heck are you doing UNT? What the heck are you doing? GMG

If they get a monster night of sleep come out and strap it on and upset Arky then all will be great again in Mean Green Nation. No pressure Coach. GMG

Glad we are going to CUSA but dang the Belt looks stronger and faster than what CUSA is throwing out there right now. GMG

Conference USA will indeed be a new league. Time to reset and feed the rivalries: North Texas: Tulsa: La Tech: UTSA: Rice: Tulane: UTEP and then there is the East! gmg

The Dodge's came in with a gameplan that failed. But that does not take away from them being good people. I sound like I am talking politics! I wish them both excellent success from here on out and think he will do well in a sling it around the field program. I love watching A&M play the way I love watching Oregon play. If they can continue playing some D and terrify the heck out of the SEC D they could literally flip that conference on its head. I don't say it will happen but dang it would be fun! I was glued to the tv watching Johnny Football march the maroon machine up and down the field and emptying out much of the 82,000 by halftime! My Sis is an Ag so I went to many a games and learned their traditions, went to yell practice and bonfire...It does look strange from the outside but inside it is a flat out blast! GMG

The team was not awake for a half. The energy level on each team was ridiculously evident. I just bothers me that two of our losses are against top 5 teams in the country that we played better against and with more heart. That's coaching, right! Why was my team not as fired up as the other on Saturday. GMG

Is there a Mean Green watching party anywhere in the city this weekend? Since I can't be in Tennessee I want to watch it around some crazies! GMG

Everytime I see a late unecessary run I think of that UNLV Baylor game many many years ago. Old school Mean Green will remember that game. It might have been the year the Rebels beat us. I believe it was UNLV attempting to run up the score and it backfired ugleeeeee on them. GMG

I might have gone ballistic had I not started watching at 20 - 13. WOW! That is all I can say! I am Mean Green Proud tonight!!!!! GMG

I like Aggie Nation in that game! Hopefully they will know we are in CUSA next year and the year after...with our track record of NTSU (Which I am proud of by the way) I am not that confident! GMG

Just read the daily rag out here previewing this game and they talked about how 5 of the 8 meetings between the Owls and Mean Green have been decided by less than a touchdown. Make that now 6 of 9 meetings and some of our battles were epic over the years. GMG
