Frank and I enjoyed catching up with Harry, Patrick, Keith, the Roeling clan and of course Brad, Vicky and Rob. There is just something about a road game that allows you to connect with people you just miss at Apogee because there is so much going on. We also got to sit together and I like how our group size has grown! Those NMSU, LALA and Arkie State road games had some fans but there was a new crew of students that made there way down to New Orleans and it was nice to see a good contingent of Mean Green in the dome. Despite the kick to the gut loss it was a blast and we are already excited to roadie to Hattiesburg which is actually closer than New Orleans per MapQuest. Mean Green and Cowboys lose as time expires in consecutive days. I am glad I am only partially invested in the silver and blue these days. That weekend would have really stung. Great memories and many more still to come with a lot of football still to play. GMG

I thought of the same exact game. This was a new ohio bobcat version of the game that devastated. Have no freaking mercy on middle. Pound them into the turf on Saturday. GMG

In defense of DT the pick six was a tipped ball. Also I kept thinking how in the heck is this team getting so many turnovers and making big plays because they are not 4-2 good. They did it against La Tech and LAMO I believe and they made big plays against us despite being an otherwise poor team. Trust me I was disgusted watching this in person but it is hard to fault all of the pick 6 on DT. They were hungry and waiting for something like that to happen. DT did make some awesome throws too. Our D let us down when they couldn't get a pick force a fumble or make a stop on the last drive. For a change the D really lost this game for us. I hope they come out fighting next week. GMG

wow motivational speaking from 90 I think Karen should strengthen turn into New Orleans and end it here now. I am not used to seeing the optimistic side of some of our fans and I am feeling gloomy right about now. hey there will be a tailgate next week - will take all energy to leave the hill head in and watch that team again. this sucked tonight.

stop hurting and go win a freaking road game. playing down to your competition is not a firm standard. don't have standards made of jello. if you can go to Athens and play good teams and come up short, you sure as he*ll can go to New Orleans and play a weak team. they did enough to win so congrats to Tulane but unt needs to man up and win a freaking road game. they will have their hands full next week and if we go 2-4 the fans are not showing up in november

We are better than Tulane but they are about to book bowl game tickets and sitting with 4 wins. unbelievable and tough to watch in person. gmg

I see this as a 5 win team. We will drop one at home and the remainder of our road games. Close but still the problem step child. gmg

I feel like I am watching Dan Dodge. How many of those games did we see us get so close. Crazy that we don't make our luck and actually turn a few of them into W's. Not even the law of averages has a Mean Green heart. GMG

Okay is there a Yell Practice on Friday night? Yeah I did. Yes I said it. Give it another name but until then a concentrated gathering of diehard Greenbackers descending upon Bourbon St yelling it up at a select time with drinks in hand? If so post it along with meeting time and yeah lets get this yell practice idea flowing now that we will have gatherings on the evenings before our driveables. GMG

Tulsa is beatable this year and yes Tulsa is a pretty cool town. It was more interesting than I ever thought it was going to be and it will be fun roadie. The crazy thing is that the AAC is getting a couple of programs on the weird next year. Tulsa and Tulane while solid in reputation have hit some interesting patches. You could say the same thing about whatever the heck is happening out at FIU too. Either way the time to strike is now for CUSA. The AAC is really going to be a collection of average programs. The MWC used to look stout but Boise is singing the blues these days and the MWC looks marginal. The SBC actually looks fairly stout and CUSA looks like everyone else right now. IT is there for the taking. The non-bcs conferences are clamoring for a leader and CUSA needs to win out of conference and get some poll representation too. La Tech did it recently. Fresno is doing it now. CUSA can become the premier non-bcs league with some solid performances in the next 18 months. GMG

Okay we have over a month for the Hit30K promotion. Let's get some yard signs created and placed around the campus. Remind the F out of the students that this is not just a game, this is a goal and an event. Students love events especially with free stuff. Get some local companies to pony up lunch packs for 4, get a freaking tv donated, throw in an iphone upgrade and some free burrito coupons and whala you have 35,000 showing up at Apogee trying to get a ticket into a sold out war. I would love every game to be a promo and maybe next year you publish a promotion by game and keep it different and interesting from game to game. The kicker is that you don't get your ticket until you show your student ID inside the stadium. Drawing occurs between the 3rd and 4th quarters. GMG

We always be up on the hill catching the breeze or wind storm on certain games. However, for the MUTS game we have campsite in order, coolers packed, smore grill in tow and Mean Green stories into the night. It's simply the most wonderful time of the year! GMG

Speaking of the Wing Zone. Can we get a student fan group together that slaps that wall like they do at Ga Tech and Okie State. Pad the thing if you need to but seriously I run down to that front row when the other team is about to score and just let the lungs rip with megaphone hands in place. Can you imagine a group of Diehard Greens that take their place all along that front row yelling and slapping some wood labeled "defense" against the wall. Out of the gutter nation this is some serious topic. GMG

I think this game is closer but we come out on top, simply because we know each other better. I do like that we have "big uglies" like BYU does and over the course of a game we can wear a team down. I also like that our D is simply chomping at the bit and hungry to take the field 24/7. I love that my Cowboys and Mean Green are hungry on the defensive side of the ball this year. It is as exciting watching D as it is O this year! I think MTSU will bring a solid game plan to Apogee and we respond in a tough bout. I hope to hear some frenetic noise in from the Wing Zone to the scoreboard. Okay who can nail down the Wing zone promotion ASAP? Certainly Hooters or Pluckers or KFC or Wing Stop wants some of that! Throw that logo on the endzone wall, make some buck, give out a 6 piece when the Mean Green score more than 25 points. Go out and get that easy ready to go promo! We can Hit30k. We can get the Wing Zone promo too! GMG

The Mean Green's next step is a solid road win. I see us coming out fired up and kicking some butt especially after a week to hunger for some hits. Mean Green Nation needs to bring it in the dome - get as loud as we can in their house. Mean Green ready to get that W on the road! GMG!!!!!

Have standards already. If I as a Mean Green backer can rattle off who is in which league - an AD who gets paid 6 figures needs to be do that at a minimum! Can you imagine this guy asking if this win would count toward his bowel eligibility, because you know we left D1AA almost two decades ago! I have the same standards/expectations for those tools who call us North Texas State on broadcasts. Can this mega industry really have such a low hiring bar? You will know North Texas come Saturday! I love the idea of tailgating trick or treating! Kids from all over Denton descend in apogee in Halloween and families get to enter and sit in the Wing zone for $20 up to four people $5 each additional human adult or kid. Trick or treating begins at 5p. Game to folow! Love the idea. Also the spooky tent idea is great. The big green bus has a mean green advantage! GMG
