  1. Mack also pronounced Nev ada the wrong way the entire game. Drove me crazy. Nice win for La La. GMG
  2. Most importantly this is Mac's guy someone he will trust and can work with. We have to let Mac surround himself with guys who fulfill his circle of trust. Nothing stinks more than spending a lot of time trying to build a relationship when Mac and company need to build the team. There is much work to do in the next 8 months. GMG
  3. I agree that we need a new AD for the following: 1. Fresh marketing ideas 2. Apparel everywhere especially around DFW 3. Scheduling - incarnate word did RV in 4. Creative aggressive marketing 5. Drawing long standing loyal fans back into the program - townhalls asking for input communication etc... 6. Building of Denton support 7. Expanding support initiatives in DFW 8. Bringing back basketball at unt 9. Pushing baseball along spring is boring I won't bash RV but rather thank him for all he has done over the years while looking forward to a new regime with excitement. Every position has a creativity shelf life before bitterness and doom arrive. Time to get creative in that department again. GMG
  4. I don't know you say Austin these days and everyone loves it. ULL brand big enough? Bigger than Austin? Not so sure. GMG
  5. I just remember their run to the final four or great basketball teams of the past if I am not mistaken. That and then that is where he Boston marathon bomber went to school I believe. GMG
  6. I think of Denton when I see creative heartbeat of Texas. Denton is the eclectic energy in north Texas. GMG
  7. I can't believe the negative nancies actually defended UNT against a Pony fan. Seriously did not expect that, but well done gentlemen. GMG P.S. - and we will take over Ford in Green. It is going to be a beautiful sight. GMG
  8. I am excited to see how Coach Mac develops his staff in the coming weeks. D Mac knows football and networks matter. The volume got turned up by what is going on over on the hilltop. This is a crucial hire and experience, energy and chemistry are all going to play a big role on the selection - as they should and need to. Enjoy the journey Coach. Popping the popcorn and getting excited for next year already. GMG
  9. Ouch is right he is a good one. GMG
  10. I hope a lot of Dallas does as it benefits the shelters and underprivileged in our city. Football and a good cause great combination. GMG
  11. 1. Roadies to Hattiesburg la tech Knoxville and Iowa. 2. Walking distance pre and post game parties smu weekend 3. Hungrier team after taking all those throttles in October 4. More pre home game camp outs at apogee 5. Tailgate enhancements The team jury is still out and I will be disappointed if we don't bounce back. But I will let the season play out have a lot of fun doing it and not doom 2015 before we even celebrate Christmas. GMG
  12. You are right about the Marshall Boise situation. I rarely turned into a regular season SBC game if at all if it didn't involve my Mean Green. However, I was glued to the tube for that Marshall WKU game and the Marshall La Tech game for much of it. I like the outer big dog matchups too. Give me some Reno, Utah State, Marshall, ECU, WKU, UTEP and UCF every now and then and I love it. Of course growing up Mountain West when living out west helped. There was some good exciting football played out there, still is. GMG
  13. Don't feed the animals. There is much to be excited about the Mean Green and that is the world I live in. I know many others on this forum do to. 90 you could actually have an opposite affect and my friend it appears your played strategy is working. Support the uniform. Support our men and woman. Live Mean Green. GMG
  14. Everyone is ignoring 59 to freaking zero with a third string quarterback. I like that a team playing at the top of its game is playing in New Years day. Fun for the college football fan. There were times in bcs where teams limped into the biggest games. If Osu won 21-20 we would be seeing Baylor in slot 4. I think A bama Oregon game would be epic. Play a championship big 10 errr 12 and fight for top four. No handouts. GMG
  15. Team hotel is strongly encouraged. You will enjoy meeting the fans and seeing the team bounce around. It will be worth the investment. Go La Tech GMG
  16. This year the committee was begging a new shiny Boise to rise up but there were no takers and marshalls schedule killed them. They only talked up a 2 loss bronco squad when they could see there wasn't one out there to make it interesting. a sexy BYU or ucf or Houston or us would get some energizing pub. Ecu was on track for awhile too. They truly view is as one big group literally. Boise just had the experience skins and decent enough record to stomach for inclusion in the first go. Arizona vs Boise is going to be entertaining for sure.
  17. I can't believe people are pushing Dawg fans to Fort Worth - Armed Forces Bowl maybe but seriously get out and explore. Can't go wrong with any of the following: Hotels Omni - great base Crescent Court - near uptown Mansion on Turtle Creek - near uptown more secluded and luxury Hotel ZaZa - cool and hip edgy hotel Ritz Carlton - walking distance to uptown and can jump on the trolley up to West Village All of these hotels are a short train ride to the Cotton Bowl or quick easy less than 15 minute drive Sites JFK Sixth Floor Museum Nasher Sculpture Center Dallas Museum of Art Entertainment Dallas Mavs game Dallas Stars game Klyde Warren Park - if nice out the food trucks are awesome and can relax in the park Main Street - bars and clubs - lazy, pub style and hip Elm Street - more bars West Village - great restaurants and shopping Northpark - excellent shopping mall and nice holiday decorations/setups McKinney Avenue - plenty of bars and restaurants - fun zone Deep Ellum - some excellent bars, coffee shops and restaurants - fun hip Austin vibe zone - great beer halls and brewery too Pecan Lodge at Deep Ellum - fantastic Fair Park - on gameday there are some excellent craft beer bars across the street from the Fair Park area - Exposition I believe Take a jaunt to Fort Worth if you want as there are great places in Sundance Square. Hit Six Flags Holiday In the Park in Arlington. Take a tour of Jerryworld which is cool. Enjoy our fine cities and beat the heck out of Illinois. You guys have an outstanding squad this year. I hope to be there cheering on the conference too. GMG
  18. Can't go wrong with the big 3: ASU, TSU or ULL. Liberty will be a beast in the future much like BYU or Baylor way down the line. I don't want them now but they will continue to make their push onto the scene with all that private money. GMG
  19. I love the four monsters in the final four. Baylor would have been more interesting that TCU but DFW will benefit from any of these fan bases. Nice job by the Committee. GMG
  20. All is right in the world when the frog gets squashed. The committee got it right. Big 12 needs to expand with BYU and Boise or BYU and Cincy or BYU and Houston. Smastrek has to be looking at this long-term - how can we leap into AAC or MWC should an opening occur. San Diego St is being bantered about as well. If Big 12 takes BYU and SDSU or Boise and SDSU the MWC could become a very interesting option. Again package us with UTSA - North Texas/South Texas here we come. GMG
  21. Amen. Get all the best available candidates on the lists and sell your opportunity. Like Briles said, "This is America." GMG
  22. You are not kidding about what people on this board do well. In for $100 but travel every week so I can assist monetarily but the footwork will be difficult for me. My take on this is that you have to begin planning this stuff now and WE can control this. Last year's suggested plan came really close to the deadline for entry. We have time here to make it happen and if it is a GOMEANGREEN float then we don't need to jump through hoops with the the Athletic Department, I wouldn't think. Kind of like the "offsite" bonfire at TAMU. We can't control the AD but we sure as heck can create energy and enthusiasm for our beloved program in MANY other visible ways. GMG
  23. It's big boy time and if within the rules kudos to smu. GMG
  24. I understand the goal is to draw attention to the athletic department by being as negative as some can be on this board. It like the hands up demonstration at the end of the Christmas parade today. Gotta love their spirit. I am an optimistic glad half full person and when I was complaining moaning and groaning I will never forget someone special turning to me saying "never lose that positive spirit." It's been challenged for sure but I refuse to become Debbie downer. RV the Bor coach Mac or that ref at Texas in '88 will ever define my belief in the Mean Green. Rather I'm ready to get to work as a fan. Do what I can do. Demand the best. But complain. Nah. No time for that. GMG
  25. I went to the children's day parade this morning and the Grambling State band killed it. I would love to see the Green Brigade participate in this parade every year. I saw the UTSA band in the fiesta parade a few years back and they got the crowd roaring. Now last year we chatted about a Gomeangreen float or representation in the March parade. It makes so much sense. Let's make it a communal build event get something registered and then haul as many talons onto Greenville in a few short months. Caw! GMG
