When I read the tea leaves deeply I see ou getting ready to bolt for the big and this will force Texas' hand to the pac if they are not already actively setting things up. UNT needs to be ready to lineup with the following: Houston tcu k state Iowa state Kansas Baylor okie state Texas tech smu byu and Boise. RV do what it takes relationship wise to be extremely aggressive right now. Even if we miss the first train if the acc comes after tcu we need to be ready to deliver the metroplex as the large state university in north texas. OU has lost so much clout in this new big 12. The little privates were never supposed to rule the roost. None of the candidates to bolster the 12 are attractive so ou will leave. Texas has two juicy games next year with nd and ou. A&M has at least 6 just playing their conference. So the 12 will dissolve and we better be lining up with the new formation. Gotta see it to be it. GMG

I somehow hated byu when I lived in Hawaii and was disgusted they won the men's national championship in the Stan sheriff center. But after moving to Vegas and watching them rock the mwc I started following them. I went to a few events on their campus and fell in love with the Coogs. Love watching them on the byu channel and root for them often. I would get my doctorate there but there's that whole no drinking thing. Sneak sneak sneak?. It's like fouts in the old days! GMG

Hawaii - Let's Go Bows - loved those hot rainy nights in Aloha Stadium after watching football since 5:00am. UNLV - soft spot for the other hometown - will be interesting to see what Sanchez does Root against - TU and TCU That is pretty much it. Oh and for the record Mean Green out in front by marathons. Nothing beats a weekend in Apogee or on the road rooting for my alma mater. GMG

the department also needs to find other avenues to capture the "mystery" guests contact info. See I go in with my buddy on the season tickets. Everything is under his name his address his telephone and contact information. So there are four of us in the package but only one person being regularly contacted if he is. I never get calls or bugged by the ticket office and I say bugged to mean reminded about upcoming events renewals...one weekend I went to a ranger game in Houston. I was immediately contacted by their box office to purchase season tickets. I explained I just bought a walk up ticket after driving down for the game. He immediately gave me future dates sent me emails and tried to craft packages for me and my friends and I am a ranger fan. Every year my ticket office contact calls me with the upcoming Schedule and makes himself available. The Mean Green concierge would be phenomenal and uncover persons 2,3,4 in my current package setup. Hire me already I would so put this service into high gear. GMG

Thankful for the effort keep trying new things. Lots of people waiting to be connected with and yes it is the university's Job to engage the community. We also need exposure not just one time events. Utsa marches in the big parades in sat. Unt has one of the best bands in the land we should be at the Christmas Day parade the Greenville Ave event maybe the pep band on that one. I also as a human would like to know the humanitarian and community efforts teams coaches or players are doing constantly. It would warm me up inside and maybe spawn a ticket purchase if I saw cheerleaders coaches golf team members volleyball players...at school supply drives rehab centers...that is what you see the pros do and it builds a presence around town. You blast this out through weekly communications to the alumni and friends of the mean green nation. You may also get occasional hits from the media. Assemble true calendar now for the next 12 months and inform players of the commitment in advance. Many would love and embrace the action. GMG

The Dallas event needs to be at night. I was training 2 blocks from the event and wanted to attend but couldn't due to client commitment. Dallas is a business 101 town lunches last one hour have a social at the tower club in the evening and I bet you get more. GMG

I saw it at the signing day event and it weirded me out. He seemed pissed at the fans. Just win and hire a new AD. GMG

Gonzaga plays in the awesome and large Marriott center. They belong big 12. Zags are bball power but byu is complete name school. Zags carry wcc but byu does not fit in that conference. These small private schools are nice and solid in the secondary sport of bball. Byu wants football prowess again. Dragging your football hungry power into sec acc and big 12 country while mopping the floor with CUSA programs has to peak some interest. They will not go back to mwc. You cannot go back to that newly configured league. Still a long shot but if you don't seduce you definitely lose. GMG

Arky state is 100% correct. I have wanted real numbers and goals for this organization. It's the way the business world runs. I have wanted town halls and updates from the ad's desk like I get from unlv weekly. Set a goal and fall short but improve. I am flat out shocked some torchbearers are not more embarrassed by this. Have a plan work a plan and report real time updates. You do not want politicians who doublespeak with this stuff. I saw utsa business supporter signs in "all" kinds of bars in San Antonio last year. Makes me want to boil that we are not out there fighting for community and regional support every day. It is not a spring activity it is a four season activity. Season tickets show commitment and when you have slightly over 4000 you have very little commitment to this program. Smastrek cannot be happy with what is happening across the highway. Make a splash hire and get this bullet train built and moving. GMG

In am for keeping UAB but there needs to be an aggressive plan known to all. None of this 5 year stuff. Lala and arky state or even nmsu are ready with both programs now. GMG

Would love to but on road 90% of time. I say we form the Greenbackers group with a mission to expand the brand in the coming year. We select designated projects to pursue then meet and execute. The meeting can be in person and via Skype so passionate Greenbackers from around the globe can collaborate on efforts to build the Mean Green Nation. I want Skype capability since I will most likely be living overseas this fall but there is much work to do and Greenbackers live coast to coast and across the globe. Three to five projects top make the efforts a priority and make them happen. I have not heard back from the byu marketing department do I will hound them until I get answers that satisfy. We're Texans folks we will get it done. GMG

Bingo. Let the G5 in every year period and now you have the drama of ncaa madness tourney. If the G5 even put a scare into a power opponent the drama would be delectable. Not to mention one year a G5 is going to advance and possibly play in the national championship. This won't be a 16-1 kind of situation. Meant to post this in this thread: I am waiting on a call from the BYU marketing department regarding the large silk banner they wave in ROC section at basketball and football games. Once I find out further information about the price for such a production I will announce the details and get a donation fund rolling. At some point we will need to coordinate with the Talons regarding the maintenance and visual unveiling details. Back with more soon.
