Watching La Tech and WKU is sobering. Those two programs are high octane and will be extremely tough to even hang with. I also want that big ole banner like I saw in the La Tech student section. The Fear the Frog, big Y in Provo and La Tech banners when coordinated with the band and students at a certain reveal point during the game - kind of like Hey Baby only cooler and way less annoying. Better get Marshall, Army, UTSA, Southern Miss and UTEP. GMG

Time to position ourselves now to tie up with Baylor, Tech, Kansas State and TCU. Just keep winning and growing Mean Green! GMG

I love the Boise idea. Get the fans and students into it and create some awesome photo shots to sell in the bookstore after the season. GMG

Love the outreach. Truly impressed with our fresh urgent Leadership. I guess they technically are buffaloes but Thundering Herd is one of the coolest names out there. Great job! GMG

Can we have one? I also like the way the Rebels trumpet the gameday activities including the team arrival time. Sell me some new gear hand out black and green pom poms - it's short notice but Marshall would be good since we will need some color differentiation! GMG

I don't know, the team I saw playing out there this past weekend looks like they could be striving for bowl eligibility deep in November. I just don't think La Tech, S Miss, Marshall and MTSU are going to pile drive us like I thought they would before the season started. I know it was one game but I had not seeing us win in Houston since like the 80's and even then that was on the highlights while living Stranger Things. I think San Antonio rises up and plays tough in SAT and gets us. I think MTSU/Marshall is a split - leaning toward beating Marshall. I think we get hammered by WKU and beat UTEP. So that gives us 4 wins. La Tech, Southern Miss and Army feel like toss up games to me. We get 2 of those and we are bowling. GMG

I love his bounce back. The UNT story is many times one of seeking out opportunities and turning then into greatness. When Fine would make a mistake he would fire back on the same series or next with a gutsier play and outcome. he is living the values of and proof of the UNT way. GMG

Ridiculous comment. The better team win last night. UNT should have felt demoralized if they lost after the fight they put up to grab that lead. Rice was fortunate to be in a position to steal one last night. Happy the good guys win! Go Mean Green!!!!!

We had a big crowd almost outdrawing the owl fans. The pre party put on by the alumni association was awesome. The band was great and it was wild to see a lot of new faces - primarily a Houston crowd. Definitely a top 10 game of all time since '86! I lived through 77- 22 or something like that many years ago so this was some sweet revenge. GMG ps- the students traveled nicely and were really into the game! See ya in Denton!

I want to hear and feel rumblings about a new conference affiliation. Everybody else is moving up, interviewing for upgrade or contacting to show interest in membership. Perhaps this will come but until then I am just so darn impatient. I like power hires. I like power hires that make waves and get people excited about the future. Must have been my 6 years in Vegas. Potential sucks until action and action is only validated by performance. Why not go bold and be excellent. Someone in the G5 will decide to go there. Gash the Gator. GMG

That's right they don't send them to us we go fill it out. I was wondering why I didn't receive one after game 2. I must have missed the reminder request for feedback at Bethune. I will definitely fill one out after every game. I heard a great saying the other day, "if they aren't weighing in they aren't buying in." Perhaps the AD can fish even harder for feedback from those introverts and completely disconnected. Persistence persistence persistence. I'm not talking about the art major who never went to a game, I want him or her too in due time. But my friends who are going to the Baylor games instead of the UNT game but would go to the unt game if they felt the University cared should be a target. I will continue to recruit disconnected to their alma mater but Wren and Co need to get creatively curious to entice that person that not all shades of Green are created equal. Chomp Back! GMG

I truly believe the style we are creating is as important as the wins that will come. UNT needs to be entertaining and successful. You cannot expect to run out of the gate and just perform to perfection. I believe SMU is a solid team and will be pretty good in what looks like a top heavy AAC. I believe we will be better by October and better in November. I feel a surprise win in the future and a horrible loss too. We look like SMU of last year and that is not a bad thing. The trajectory is heading in the right direction and that is what is most important - the trajectory in every element of experience (AD, Coach, President...) Beat BC. GMG

Congrats to Houston and they will be in final 4 if they win out. But let's face it, it is still greater to be Mean Green. My friend had her first Apogee experience last Saturday and loved it so much she is trying to figure out how to make it back for more games later this season. I am telling you, one awesome weekend, tailgate and game experience in Denton hooks you for life. GO MEAN GREEN! P.S. - And we may have a 90 but at least we don't have a cougar queen. Take a look at that picture. One kid has his hat on backwards while the kid next to them has it facing the right way playing the same instrument. That's inconsistency folks and may as well teach them young about the goal of a "uniform." I wouldn't let that band take the stands or field unless they represented with excellence. That is not an excellent look out there. It is a lazy look and because the band falls under the umbrella of game experience I am confident Wren will have some say and input into the impression they make. The music was not bad and as mentioned in a previous thread the dance routine incorporating the soloists was awesome. However, details matter. A leader I admired once said, "It's the little things that are the big things." Precision and consistency are awesome. GMG

One more thing I forgot to say in the survey is that while the Green Brigade sounded awesome and I loved how they incorporated the soloists into the dancers routine - very cool and noticeable. But Green Brigade please: 1. Wear your darn uniforms. If SMU can put on the peppermint, Texas can wear their gaudy getup and the Corp can march in pants - you need to do so too! Come on Man! It was one of the coolest early September games ever and you still can wear the uniforms until October. 2. Please kill Louie Louie - that song drives me absolutely nuts because it is too slow - very low energy - stale. Freshen it up every season. Surprise us! Perhaps play Louie 1 or 2 times in 6 games but change it out. See what BYU does with their HUGE satin banner that runs up the students side of their basketball games at a designated time of every game. It is very high energy - gets everyone pumped up including Cosmo the Cougar, fans, alum...Louie Louie is slow and demoralizing especially when you are having your butt beat pretty good. That's it. Keep refining, refining, refining every game. This survey gives me hope for basketball season which needs a full throttle cleansing if you ask me. GMG

Disagree about showing up to buy a ticket an expecting a wait. This was a cluster and finally a worker came out and just started handing out free tickets to the students with proof of ID. Why didn't they do that from the start? That would have freed up the line big time. Also, why do the students not already have their tickets - don't they pay for these as part of their tuition or is that something that just the TAMU's of the world do? A scan is truly the simplest way to make that happen. Lastly, is there a way to set up a flash account and forgive my ignorance if this is already a GO. I just always drag stragglers to the games so am always having to buy tickets at the gate at the last minute. The FC Dallas flash buy is pretty darn easy. GMG P.S. - My frustration comes from the fact that this Athletic Department never knows how to handle a big event! What on earth would they do if 30k showed up? They were staffed for maybe a crowd of 20k and almost 5k more showed up. Why does it seem like we are never ready to handle a successful turnout.

I picked Pac 12 too because our style of play will translate well to that league and the Cali schools and Buffs get a nice footprint and access to the North Texas recruiting scene. GMG

I prefer how Steve Wynn operates. You only open a project once you know it will be successful. You only get one chance to make a first impression. Wynn has delayed his Wynn Macau project once all staff were cleared on Visa from Beijing. He has delayed his opening from November of last year until this month because you can't go back. This is embarrassing. The fact it is even this close to not qualifying is a ding on the entire UNT system. Get it in order Smastrek. GMG

Kudos for the effort. I also think we need some countdown signs around campus highlighting the coming week's game with start time and watching options with away games. Plant the posts for the season and change out the game signs. GMG
