  1. I think HOD wants us and the free marketing we get at the Omni and reunion tower in smu's backyard will be sweet. Add in the tribute get an opponent who will bring fans and hang you have a winners. My hope is we draw 45k plus for this bowl visiting fans and us total. Great for charity and opportunity to play near major amounts of alumni who won't drive to Denton. GMG
  2. Plus I want to try to hold them under 75. Take that pony! The timing on the day of the game day of the week everything works for this bowl game! We shall see. GMG
  3. Texas tech d was terrible to watch. They lived through some of our dodge days with a bit more success. Painful nonetheless. GMG
  4. Nice bowl game and story for both programs. Time for CUSA to kick some postseason butt! go tech go monarch Go Mean Green!!!!!
  5. Yes indeed what a rollercoaster! For that Rice finish there was the UTEP debacle. For the Army high there was the Roadkill low. But Marshall, Southern Miss and Bethune were all a blast. Bethune was great because I thought it might have been our only win of the year at that moment in time. It was great to smile again. But El Paso was not a fun watch. The pregame tequila shots and beers overlooking the border made for a very memorable tailgate but I hope we go bowling to end back on a good note. This football season as been an exact microcosm of my entire 2016! Big ups big downs. Definitely the year of the Monkey for this Monkey. GO MEAN GREEN!!!!!
  6. We play a solid complete game, one of the best of this season and win convincingly. The mood and vibe out here in El Paso is sour. They are apathetic and sour about the coach and ad. Mean Green 35 utep 17
  7. Could you imagine a flight from the eagle wing tip to the top of the scoreboard - that would get the crowd in early. Match that with a strong formalized Green Brigade arrival and now you are talking about some fantastic pre-game to rush into to the stands for. I was at the Cowboy game this past weekend and the pre-game with the cheerleaders/dancers is awesome. Then in came Rowdy through some smoke to get the crowd lathered up. Then the Flab Cowboys ran in with the star flags through the smoke and they did their thing running across the field and around the endzone. Then eventually the team came. It was quite dramatic. That was only my second Cowboy game at AT&T or any game there for that matter and I thought the production value was pretty cool. I had a friend of mine from overseas attending his first professional football game and he was pretty starstruck. It was fun to watch his reaction. As a Man U fan he has experienced those fun game environments but this one impressed him. However, it must be coordinated - think EXPERIENCE - not just Eagle flyover. GMG
  8. The rowdies and flying puppet will be there. At least 4 from our crew heading over on Friday. Let's go get that bowl. Leave no doubt! GMG
  9. NORTH
  10. Herman's last stand was a good one. He is on his way to Texas or College Station. Good win for H Town beating paper tiger #2. Beat Southern Miss GMG
  11. Of course we will most likely get FIU next year when they turn the corner. Let's Go Mean Green!!!!!
  12. Well we just lost 3 so let's just win 3 to finish the year. Take'em on strong and finish the year with a bang! GMG
  13. Love La Tech's program and band. They are the class of the west and we just need to keep building. I feel we played them pretty tough but we're outgunned. It's a great benchmark program I've been following for years when living out west. Saw them a lot in Hawaii always solid. Appreciated the crowd and spirit they brought to Apogee. GMG
  14. We suffer from a lack of yell leaders coordinating the experience. Everybody does their part but it feels disconnected and has for 30 years. The dj needed to be playing nothing but burn baby songs the Roof is on fire, songs anything fire and yell leaders need to get the chant of burn burn burn as the fire erupted. It's about experience and there were solid ingredients but need the spark. The great thing is I am in a t shirt and shorts at my campsite whereas many of these in the past were in the frigid. now beat La Tech! GMG
  15. I know they are a rival because I want nothing more than 2 things this weekend: 1. Mean Green victory 2. Middle to pound the dirty birds into submission out in the Boro. gMg
  16. I always felt Mac didn't take the rivalry seriously. Can someone at the Coaches Show ask Littrell if he realizes the magnitude of this win to the fans? I can't stand them and I that day we open up a can of whoop arse on them will be delicious. I will savor that win even if it is the only one of that year. I missed last year's game so I have never seen them beat the dirty birds. Need a coach who wins (got him) and a coach that can beat UTSA. That is my hope folks. No looking back - look forward. Now beat the Dawgs! GMG
  17. As a fortunate Mean Green road warrior I have to digest on the weirdness that was that House of Horrors known as the Alamodome. 1. First of all the good and please UNT students, Talons, AD - make this happen. Did you notice the big unified deal UTSA made between the 3rd and 4th quarters. The Roadkill mascot running into the center of the field flag in tow, swinging it crazy with the band making the powerful Jaws building entrance and the unveiling of the sweet "Come and Take It" banner. Dam that was outstanding and something I have wanted the Mean Green to do for a long time! BYU has a coordinated band, mascot, cheerleader, crowd intimidating ritual and now freaking UTSA does too. I don't know where to go buy this banner for the students. I would get the gofundmepage underway tomorrow if I knew how to make this happen for the rest of the year. Buy it and launch the plan at Southern Miss and the Bowl Game. This is is not the government we need to and can move fast. Please someone on the inside get band man, talons, cheerleaders and Scrappy on the same page to get the team pumped up going into the fourth. UTSA's band played hey baby for the fun of it in the middle of the second quarter. Hey baby is not tradition, it is not intimidating, it makes my ears bleed and is so bloody weak it just pales in comparison again to what the 6 year old Runners are doing out there. 2. WTF was up with the band. How does a 48 year old fan know when you play the 3rd down North Texas Fight chant and the 20 year old Drum Major kept playing it on second down. I know people are laughing thinking I am being ridiculous with this detail, but it's what I do - look at details for a living. The band was OFF all night long! I don't get it and first of all where were they? Why did our full band not make one road trip this year? That's a legitimate question - I mean we are 4.5 hours away. We were 4 hours away from Houston and didn't send the full band. A full band in the dome knowing when to play what makes an in game experience difference. Further the band needs to be playing constantly. They sat on their hands when UTSA was on 3rd and 4th down. They played the North Texas Fight song on first down when WE WERE ON OFFENSE! WTF? This band needs to join the Wrenovation going on and fast. Smastrek and Wren force this band to get cooler uniforms that can be worn in September (but a real uniform). Make them have a coordinated march into the stadium - lure me into the stadium before the Star Spangled Banner. First impressions matter. 3. Scrappy standing on the Roadrunner logo at the front of the game and digging his foot into the beak and jumping on it was not only disrespectful but down right comical as they proceeded to kick our arse all over the field that night. Everybody including Scrappy thought we won the game before the first snap. Fans calling this a trap game made me laugh. We are the trap game brothers and sisters. 4. The Alumni Tailgate party was okay. We had a nice time and there was a good turnout, but I found myself wanting to be at the UTSA party next door because there were tv's to watch games, a dj spinning upbeat music - it was more of a party than ours. For some reason I had a lot more fun at the Rice Tailgate than I did the UTSA one. 5. Next time we play the Texas teams can we get blocks of rooms where Mean Green fans can stay together? I found us spread out all over the city which is fine as there are many great options. But as a fan who has traveled to all of the games it would be cool to stay at "The Mean Green Fans hotel." I would think in Houston and San Antonio you should definitely be able to sell out those room blocks. You know I love a post experience feedback form to fill out. Had we somehow won I still would have had the above points to express. Beat La Tech! Go Mean Green!!!!!
  18. Dallas is awesome and I heart the Big D. San Antonio has some charm and a much not to desire. Every town has some great things and sheety things. I am just glad I left San Antonio a long time ago and grew up in the Fabulous Metroplex. Blessed to go to school in Denton. Give me the Katy Trail, Bishop Arts, M Streets, Lower Greenville, Lakewood and White Rock. Yeah you can keep San Antone and that annoying program. Just beat'em. GMG
  19. I can't stand this program. I hate losing to them. Their fans are obnoxious. The Dome is a bad stadium. Their fans aren't welcoming of visiting fans. The students who decided to set up shop in the UNT student section just in front of the students were pure class. I'm from San Antonio but glad to call Dallas home. GMG
  20. Let's make this a role reversal. Remember in year one playing them they came to Denton with a huge following spattered all over Apogee. It was freezing cold that day and they were hyped. Time for us to show up loud, proud and rolling. Bring it Mean Green Nation all four quarters. Let them hear us Caw! GMG
  21. Staying red roof inn plus. Said it was walking distance from the Dome so no parking drama which will be nice. We will drive everywhere else. Go Mean Green!!!!!
  22. Man I remember the frustration in that middle game of not being able to get the raiders off the field - so many long 3rd down conversions made. Same with smu. Our d plays bigger in a rematch and I think we have a chance at winning those games. That's going to be the ticket to more wins this year. GMG
  23. bama Tennessee Air Force New Mexico Wisconsin Ohio state and 30 year reunion. Best most convenient bye ever! GMG
  24. 3 in our group staying hells kitchen area. Ferry bound as well. GMG
