Lamar sportswriter: UNT game "should" be cancelled
NM Green replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I was listening to Wren's interview on the ticket and he personally bought Craig a Mean Green shirt at the end of the day because the alumni would like to see him get some Green on. Wren did say he fully expects it to hit eBay but at least he didn't let him forget his roots. GMG -
Lamar sportswriter: UNT game "should" be cancelled
NM Green replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I do t know guys. Wren makes it sound like this game is going to go on as scheduled. I am hopeful. Also love that he gave it to Craig at the end of the interview. Can't stand his whiny voice and lack of UNT support. Protect the Shield Mean Green!!!!! GMG -
We should set up an effort for fans to help this weekend. The shelter in downtown dallas needs new socks, underpants and money to keep the shelters going long after Harvey moves on. These people could be in shelters for weeks. Would love to see the AD put a shout out to students and fans to bring donation items in exchange for a free coke or my coupon could be for a beer, kidding. Get creative and bring bring a package of socks or underpants and $10 for a free ticket. Imagine if every game in Texas had such an effort this weekend. It could be a feel good supportive effort! GMG

Houston area thoughts and prayer
NM Green replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Football
First and foremost safety concerns. But also wondering about Lamar and all football teams down that way. Could there be impact as in cancellation or postponement? Right now seek higher ground. prayers. -
Rice D making some nice plays in second Stanford possession. Need to make a stop. GO Rice

Exactly. That's like the hotels who contract my training services saying they don't pay attention to TripAdvisor, they just know they want to get better. Big big lie. I hired an employee who did nothing but respond to good and poor comments on Facebook back in the early days. We were skyrocketing the experience with an intense physical transformation and guest experience lift. At some point you have to Find out how you are doing. The guests became connected to Nikki and she massaged a thousand potential pitfalls on her way to an awesome Service Recovery. This team is smart so they have to be dialed in. The only thing they haven't got good at yet is asking for feedback. Remember that first game survey last year? I should have gotten 6. If I can get one after every tragic American Airlines flight I should be getting one after every Mean Green improving game day experience. GMG

Frank Wilson now the highest paid coach in CUSA
NM Green replied to MGNation92's topic in Mean Green Football
I have always felt the fans dislike utsa and want to win the game more than the coaches and players do. If they do they do a dang good job holding in their disgust. Please players if you only win one game again this year you know who gets my vote. GMG -
I'd love to see some Gomeangreen.com signs dropped around campus when kids are walking around at the start of football and basketball season inviting students to introduce themselves and get fired up about Mean Green football and basketball! Get our graphics guy involved and make it worth checking out! GMG

Oh and for the Adelaide footy fan, long live Collingwood FC! yall are actually having a stellar year. The Pies not so much. GMG

Ticket exchange would be an awesome deal! I can reactivate unused tickets for a nominal charge to bring friends to future games (FC dallas). They make money off of me twice in many cases. GMG

Wow folks okay with going 1-5 against ut freaking Sa. Or whatever the horrible record is against the roadrunners. The roadrunners! They laugh at us now and too many more losses and we will never turn that record against them. Smu will always own us on the numbers game, we can still catch utsa. Geez catch Utsa. I remember the good old days when we owned western Kentucky. Beat'em both. Go Mean Green!!!!!

UTSA in a big way! Beat the Runners. GMG

I walk up to the FC Dallas gate - any gate with my FC Dallas lanyard and have them swipe for my tickets. The little swipe machine spits them out in seconds. If I missed a game FC Dallas lets me reactivate all unused tickets for $10 each. How convenient is that! I can bring people to my Beer Garden section for $10 if I was unable to use those tickets As a Mean Green Season Ticket holder I would love to reactivate my seats for $10 each - even if it was in the wing zone. I would get takers. There are 6 games and I know I am going to miss 3 to 4 of them. When I am back in November how about letting me reactivate my 2 tickets for 2 wing zone seats. I would get takers and butts in seats. Make it easy to do business with you and allow me to expose your product at ease. GMG

Great post indeed. A lot has happened and I just finished a book called Cold Calls to Closing where it highlighted the Drip Marketing approach to sales. I love the concept because it is constant communication, frequent surprises, invitations to be part of it and genuine care shown by the Seller. I think Wren & Co. are making headway here. Positives I see: 1. The graphics make me want to plaster my wall with Mean Green collateral 2. The luncheon is a great idea to get everyone ready for Lamar (and we need to drive attendance) 3. Player updates - I don't get into this as much but I love the player profile segments - I would love to read even more humanitarian stories about the players on and joining our team. UNLV does this very well every time a basketball player joins their squad. I get an update and learn his vitals but I also learn a bit about him as a human - it connects me to the Runnin Rebels again and again. 4. The scheduling - this must remain a work in process and get us more regional games with fans who will add atmosphere to the Apogee experience 5. The Battle Flag vote and decision (His doing or not it feels like an AD effort) 6. Season ticket packaging - first class - even traditional P5 program fans impressed. I posted earlier in the week about the need to get Mean Green helmets and flags into the top bars in the DFW metro. I feel comfortable that a request like that was at least heard. Perhaps and effort will even be made for 2018. I hope to always feel like as a fan I can share real to ridiculous ideas with this regime. So far so good. I will never be able to tap down my Urgency button desire because we have much to catch up on from a program/fan building perspective. But I am down with doing it right instead of fast and where we can do it right and fast, floor it. Culture building means attacking it from hundreds of directions constantly, and we are inside the fish bowl. Se we are not going to see or feel it fast enough. But from the outside culture change signals are occurring. Never lose our intensity and keep the press on. We are all going to ultimately win. GMG

Next question . Should Canales have been given a shot at the head coach position? Kaboom! As the Mean Green World turns. Almost as much drama in a short period of time as the current administration. Mean Green roots weathered and strong! GMG

Ouch. Poor guy. Don't like seeing anyone suffer injuries. GMG

Yes, I get it we have suxed for decades. I've seen a lot of rough years. However, I'm not interested in where we have been. I am interested in where we are going and action is required. I also do not have to diss what the Athletic Department and Wren are doing to come up with a new idea. Call this the Alumni Street Gang or Mean Green Outreach Project. I do not see the bar owner at Henderson Tap House turning down a Mean Green flag for the ceiling or helmet to go in one of the empty spaces on the shelf. There are a lot of bar owners who would gladly accept visual gifts to enhance their bar. Further our look and scheme has only gotten slicker and more interesting. This really should be a full year effort, so perhaps we start getting people made aware of Mean Green Hoops. However, it requires an action plan, resources, a target list and to Cerebus' goal - an accountability report going full circle showing when and where these items get placed. Use our numbers as leverage and explain that in exchange for gear placement we will highlight them as a Mean Green Backer at Alumni Association Update meetings and perhaps in some flash marketing pieces inside the stadium. I will personally hit a sports bar that supports my school even if it is one time, perhaps the bar is far from where I live. The Mean Green Nation must muscle our way up to the table and we need to make sure we don't leave powerful tools laying on the cutting room floor. If the ODU and Troy helmets are good enough for one of the most popular sports in Dallas, a rocking Mean Green SOW helmet is plenty ready to take its rightful place. GMG

For the ambitious go straight for the Friday night camp out. Hook up a tv watch the Friday night mountain west game, stay up late, sit around fire pit and freshen up in the stadium restrooms by the ticket office. It's good bonding time. go Mean Green!!!!!

Is there an effort from the street outreach team to get our logo and name into sports bar in dfw? I bet we could on this board generate a list of bars who need North Texas stuff for their bars. I'm currently watching the Man U game and that team from somewhere in Spain play. I'm at Henderson Tap House and surrounding my tvs are helmets from smu Iowa state South Carolina old dominion Troy and VCU. I see banners in the ceilings from Michigan state smu auburn Louisville k state and Arkansas. There is space to insert a North Texas helmet. Im just saying get people ready for the season. I've got two who need gear Lakewood First and Ten and Henderson Tap House. And I haven't even begun to scrub uptown. Send in students with a gift basket and department rep to get good placement. May as well get people ready for the Next Big Thing. Go Mean Green!!!!!

DRC: UNT picked to finish 4th in C-USA West Division
NM Green replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Have standards friends. Have standards. Nowhere in my book of standards does it say we need to be begging to beat Lamar and uab. Most of you all have even conceded smu. Thank goodness I saw us under different times when we went to Austin Norman and Lubbock expecting to win. Yes Littrell you must beat utsa this year. Get'em up get'em out, beat'em back to San Antonio. Go Mean Green!!!!!
