I have a feeling some of these people calling the New Orleans bowl sheety have never been to a New Orleans bowl. I mean it’s a chance to beat a 10 win team in a city full of culture food and music. How many times have we had a shot at a 10 win team? You have to take the shot to get the glory. Our holster was only half full and kudos to Troy who deserved that win and ranking to come. They were the better team having the better year. We will be that team one day. GMG

That was really awesome and definitely memories for life - who know what other states we will invade with Mean Green graduates! GMG

A new tradition I would like to see get started

Troys band was awesome and once again the green brigade were outclassed and left standing in the stands silent while Troy played New Orleans themed music and danced in the stands. At least our band director was looking across the field. He must of been saying, “how do they do that!?” thank you sound of the south. You added to the electric atmosphere in a great way! GMG -
Can we take a moment to appreciate this team?

As someone who follows BYU and West Coast conference basketball. That was a HUGE win out in San Diego. It’s bright and green in football and basketball land! GMG -

Marshall needs to beat CO state for some conference rep points. GMG

Sounds like a fan problem to me. Google search. Troys defense was a work of art. They deserved the win. Congrats on 11-2 and the ranking to come. Unt keep building. GMG

Yes 9 wins was fun to watch. The drama the leaders that emerged. No bad weather games. Trips for me to South Florida and New Orleans. Utsa. Winning in the Rock. Playing Iowa tough for awhile. Stomping rice. It was a fun year. Needle pointed up. Stand tall Mean Green.

Troy is better than co state. They will be ranked at the end of the year after 11-2. Better team better year. Still fun 2017. GMG

I was in boca now New Orleans. Tough ways to watch the team walk off the field after two arse whippings. But wouldn’t change being there. You never know when magic will happen. So show up support have fun and take the ups and the downs like a champ. GMG

DRC: Source: Littrell not interested in SMU job
NM Green replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I think things are about to get rocky over on the hilltop. They really need to get a name coach a la Jimbo. Swing for the fences and get a name guy who can charge dallas fans. It’s not about wins there. It is about wins and name recognition. They can go get a name coach with what they pay. But they appear to be settling. Time for revenge #NewDenton style in 9 months. GMG -
This makes sense for utep and canales’ understanding of the cusa programs is going to be helpful. This adds some meat to the Dimel hiring. GMG

NT Schedules Home/Home with Cal & Wyoming!
NM Green replied to MeanGreenTexan's topic in Mean Green Football
Glad to see we are going out west again. It’s been a long time. I was at Air Force and Arizona State during jake the 🐍 snake’s reign. Those were some fun roadies and happy cal and Wyoming will be visiting NewDenton. GMG -
Where is the holistic approach in all of this? It’s what Seth Littrell has been drinking since he arrived in Denton. The reason SL has been successful is because has built things everywhere he went. Is UNT considered a top g5 program yet or are more inclined to think we are nice, becoming interesting and perhaps a little lucky after those close calls all season. We could and are perceived as a house of cards to some. Do this again and more in 2018 and you get many more delicious opportunities than smu. Tech is a step up tcu is a step up, smu football is a step down in many peoples eyes including mine. It not about what was done 40 years ago it’s about what is coming. That’s north folks. It’s the better job that will lead to bigger opportunities and Littrell is halfway home. I’m with Rick here. Lubbock is next if not something bigger. GMG

DRC: Five thoughts on UNT's loss to FAU
NM Green replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Agreed. Perhaps the West was down because UNT was the new standard bearer and was up. Will it be easy to blow through conference next year undefeated again? I think not as UTSA, La Tech, UAB and Southern Miss will be amped up for derailing our show. Enjoy this year because every year is different and this one was special. GMG -
A Perspective On The History Of 2017: Trust Me On This.
NM Green replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
I stayed through the trophy presentation yesterday because I wanted to remember what that scene looked like when it one day plays out in Apogee. FAU fans were complimentary of North Texas and several shook my hand on the way out of the stadium. They battle all the d bags from Miami and other programs in the state. They had a magical season. We are having a magical season. They got the big boy trophy this year, and one day we will see that sea of students, fathead posters and special guests pour out onto the field in Denton. Looking forward to seeing our players and coaches hoist another bowl game trophy and one day a CUSA trophy. GMG
