NDSU vs Eastern Washington Championship Game in Frisco
NM Green replied to Big Z's topic in Mean Green Football
Agreed! I love my FCD and am excited about season tickets year 3. But look at Atlanta and Seattle. Those cities are dialed in and it is paying off. Not sure what FCD internal is doing but I like Luchi! I think he is going to be good for the Boys In Red. DTID GMG -
NDSU vs Eastern Washington Championship Game in Frisco
NM Green replied to Big Z's topic in Mean Green Football
I love how Frisco rolls out the carpet for their bowl game. Wish dallas did the same. Wish Frisco had a 40k stadium. Scruffie mcduffies and all those bars are a blast this weekend. GMG -
Mason Plus Seth Equaled Accelerated Winning
NM Green replied to BillySee58's topic in Mean Green Football
I think we look like Oklahoma next year, not about to be cleaned out Oklahoma but regular season Oklahoma. Watching the game on my computer I felt like I was watching last year’s defense only this time we went playing utep utsa and Rice. Usu made it look easy. We looked lost like Arkansas - saw both emotions this year. still excited about next year. I think mason goes balls to the wall and has us winning crazy shootouts while d struggles we win 55-51. Usu and Troy were more complete teams. That is our goal but it doesn’t come next year in my opinion. enoy the ride, get matched up in Dallas against a slow offensively challenged team next year and all is well in Greenland again. GMG -
Final Thought On The New Mexico Bowl
NM Green replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
Glad many of you had a blast. After living in Santa Fe for 6 years I bowed to buy my book writing cabin in northern New Mexico. It’s simply underrated misunderstood country and right next door. I would love a move to the MWC for hoops. I mean New Mexico UNLV #5 Nevada (saw them in the Reno airport the other day - impressive and huge) SDSU Boise hoops now - that conference is loaded. MWC tourney in Vegas every March. i loved the shirts the good the bad and the ugly with a lobo utep and nmsu logo next to their respective lot in life. Can we get one with smu and utsa and of course SOW in the good line. GMG -
Plus New Mexico - tell me who wasn’t disappointed with that. I mean I planned everything around the 26th even staying overseas until the 21st. Solid crowd today! Impressed. But this game had let’s come out on top and rebuild the confidence of the team and fan base in 2019. I definitely don’t want Littrell ruining another bowl prep like this year. The Magic was slipping leading into utsa and fell off the map in early December. He’s young and learned some things this year. It’s easier to give up on a section of a team than an entire team and fan base. That is the feeling I had as a long time fan. I still would have rather been stateside to travel to New Mexico but wasn’t crushed like I normally am when the dates didn’t work out. So let’s take a break from 2018. We will reflect fondly on most of 2018. But I need a break and it appears the whole team and staff do too. gmg

Is CUSA the weakest conference in Football?
NM Green replied to southsideguy's topic in Mean Green Football
Judy does need to go. The conference is sliding backwards under her leadership. Like byu we don’t want to go back to a strong conference that we have already been in. Just weather the storm. gmg -
Is CUSA the weakest conference in Football?
NM Green replied to southsideguy's topic in Mean Green Football
Real question is do we want to go to a stronger sun belt? I still say no. gmg -
The certainty actually seemed better than the uncertainty. They knew what they had to do, dialed in and got it done. Unt seems to buckle under pressure a la old dominion and la tech. We handled pressure under bad Teams but if they were decent (odu questionable but did giant kill) - melt. It looked easy for usu, I mean really easy. gmg

Litrell’s Flirt impacted the preparation of this team for sure. Lost like 10 days of focus that’s a big deal playing a top 25. gmg

***OFFICIAL 2018 New Mexico Bowl Game Thread***
NM Green replied to RiseUNT's topic in Mean Green Football
Fine took himself out with the sprint, help from the disastrous center, Littrell’s moonlighting, Harrell being Harrell, Wren not getting us out of New Mexico, Albuquerque air, Jordan, Maile The Man, December 15...so many culprits in this last episode of fansville. gMg -
***OFFICIAL 2018 New Mexico Bowl Game Thread***
NM Green replied to RiseUNT's topic in Mean Green Football
What are our bowl scores under Littrell? Something like 120 to 50 or something crazy like that. Bring back UNLV. Another offseason bad taste in the mouth. Troy or usu better? I gotta be honest I think Troy still gets the nod. No way you slice it unt didn’t belong on the field with either. Ready to turn this seasons page. Gmg -

NM Green replied to RiseUNT's topic in Mean Green Football
This coaching staff🙃 it will take a lot for me to spend money on traveling to a bowl game to watch these guys. Learned my lesson in New Orleans. Good memories with friends and then the game had to happen. Bring on those fun September’s gmg -
I’m not even mad. It kind of just feels like it used to. Some moments of sunshine some gloom. I will say we haven’t had a blowout loss in a year, so the weathers been a bit more pleasant these past 12 months. Today a Blitzstorm. UNT bowl games no bueno. Gmg

Next AAC TV Deal could affect College Football's Future
NM Green replied to TheColonyEagle's topic in Mean Green Football
I would go with conference flexibility every time. There is no loyalty in this game anymore. Further unlike the MW which has some history between the programs and the Mac for that matter, the AAC doesn’t seem to have that glue. CUSA doesn’t either. Wyoming and Colorado state have been rivals forever, San Diego state and UNLV have a great basketball rivalry. Boise and everybody else is a real conference intrigue. I don’t sense much if any of that in the aac. UCF Memphis maybe, but UCF wins that every time. So no way I tie myself to those programs in the aac just like we don’t desire to tie ourselves to odu fiu and Charlotte. GMG -
I’ll make that my score prediction. UNT 50 USU 28 still waiting for the Mean Green to put together that all phases game plan. Do it on the 15th and let the celebration begin! GMG

University stadium has good sitelines and you are close to the field. It is similar to nmsu In that it sinks into a bowl and is not bad. You walk in and then down. The Pit is the same which makes it retain crazy noise from the “everyone’s a Lobo woof woof woof” crowd. GMG

So a lot of this is going to be about eating. But I’ll throw in some shopping and drive tips for the Mean Green visitors. I found Harry’s board while a grad student in tiny Las Vegas New Mexico working on my MBA. It was like heaven sent me an angel board. After all these years going to Lobo games in the Pit and university stadium, I’m bummed no New Mexico for me. I’m finishing projects in Asia and never thought we would play before December 21st. Oh well utsa was a nice finish and I’ll root them on from Hong Kong to the upset! I spent 6 enchanting years in this beautiful place, let’s go: 1. Don’t miss the cinnamon roll at frontier across from UNM its life changing and close to the stadium. The New Mexican food is good and cheap too. 2. The flying saucer further up central is a great coffee house with yummy desserts and good American food. I spent many nights working on my field project here. It’s New Mexico you have to coffee house. 3. Tomasitas is authentic New Mexican food with delicious potent margaritas frozen or on the rocks. There is a location in Albuquerque now and the food and drinks are just as good! 4. Get out of Albuquerque- walk the square in Santa Fe 50 minute drive up I-25. You can eat drink shop and you will feel the Santa Fe spirit. Her vibe is artistic, creative, bohemian, granola, earthy. 5. If you Santa Fe these restaurants are winners: tomasitas, cafe Pasquals, Geronimo, Vanessi’s for cocktails, coyote cafe. Tecolote cafe. 6. Take a stroll up canyon to look at the galleries. 7. Shop at jackalope on cerrillos road - awesome clay and tin crafts. 8. Relax in 10,000 waves - springs in the mountains of Santa Fe. 9. Say a prayer (include the Mean Green) in the cathedral downtown. See the inn at Loretto church. 10. Drive the high road to Taos. 11. See the santuario de chimayo on the high road to Taos. 12. Take pictures on the Taos gorge - remember the scene from natural born killers. 12. Hike tent rocks for those active types that want to see a beautiful setting. Bandelier national park for the ruins is awesome. There is so much to do but these were my haunts as I studied and rooted on my undergrad from the state next door. Oh and the Pit is a legendary place to watch a basketball 🏀 game. If you can swing it you will not be disappointed and we have a chance to Win! GMG p.s. - take a minute to look up at the moon and see how the sky envelopes you. Take deep breathes and drink her enchantment in. She’s a big ole secret and we use to say it was because the weatherman woman always stand in front of the state when they do the national weather - it’s true🙂

That is how I feel. Love Seth but ready for another great 3 year run by the next coach. Everybody can come out of this just fine. Make the announcement win the bowl game and get the next stud to keep the Green times rolling! GMG

Which begs the question about what to do with big programs like a UCF who is there a UNT who is working towards there. Meanwhile small schools like a wake or Vandy hang out with the party peeps. There is power in numbers and more engaged alumni means more opportunities for revenues from these bigger pool performing schools. GMG

Better in San Marcos than San Antonio. GMG

4-1 make me as nervous as gray uniforms and a 17,21 or 28 point lead. retire the gray. GMG

Congrats to all our teams. No one saw that heart stopper in San Antonio coming but maybe we should expect that base on years of a trend. These games are close, nerve wrecking and emotional win or whatever. great job team and fans! Go Mean Green!!!!!

Yes, “You play to win the game! You don’t play to play. You play to win the game!” We score over 40. Utsa gets 17. GMG
