First time to watch them since uta:( need some defense and magic in the final minute. GMG

That goes back to my thought about still being able to do it in CUSA. Look I have mountain West Country running through my veins. I love the league way more than the aac. But if you build a sexy brand with affiliation to the hottest market in the States with some recognizable glorious history, a hot coach and massive alumni base. That story and brand can play on New Year’s Day. There is nothing Memphis did at jerry world that we couldn’t do if we work hard, win and find the sizzle in North Texas. Last year would have been the year to blast this rocket off but it fizzled and an opportunity was missed. TCU didn’t give up when they got snubbed by the playoffs. TCU had some heartbreak moments on their rise. We had a heartbreak season but it’s over and a whole new experiment looms in the fall. I’m glad the right people and is fans are dialed in. It’s going to be a fascinating and hopefully fun fun season! GMG

I just sit back and wonder what is in it for the Broncos. They don’t need the aac to get to the ny6 bowl. Does playing ucf and Memphis Jazz you up? Doesn’t me. Now going the other way I get interested in seeing Boise play. They have a mystique about them that the Knights and tigers don’t quite have. And to mean rob’s point then you get those dog matchups of Tulane and Tulsa and East Carolina coming to Boise over the likes of Fresno, Nevada, Wyoming, UNLV and Colorado state. Sorry I don’t see any juice for the Blue fanbase. Lastly, I hear this drumbeat about cusa canjot get there. CUSA just has not had a team be good enough to get there. We’re talking from beginning to end of the season. Nothing is holding us back as a league other than no program had had the stars align for them yet. If Appy State was inches from playing penn state, a cusa team can make a run. Look at our bowl performances the last 2 years, better than the aac and others. Get that woe is me attitude out of here. It’s not a perfect conference by any means and I would explore options if given the opportunity. But until then lace them up and go after the New Year’s Day bud. That should be the goal at the front of the season, along with hosting and winning a conference championship game in Denton! GMG

If I were the big 12 I would look at adding Boise and BYU to expand its stretch interest and give it two more powerhouse fan bases. The big 12 is losing ground to all the other p conferences except the pac 12. It could benefit from having more high profile matchups. Football games featuring tilts between Boise and BYU against Oklahoma and Texas have more national juice than anything matched up against Baylor or TCU. Before the playoffs you could see anything that could be was being done to make sure baylor stayed out of the four. They don’t want them and their small non nationally interested fanbase near the big 4. Baylor took care of themselves or Oklahoma did and all was safe. big 12 needs to do something because they don’t even look like they belong in the same Sandbox as the sec and big 10 and Clemson. GMG

See the west coast conference. Gonzaga gets the glory and has established themselves as the best. St. Mary’s challenges to keep bell ringer on their toes. BYU has name recognition and can upset the bell ringer and conference challenger. That’s pretty much it every year in that league. GMG

Seth strikes me as the type of guy who thrives on chemistry and struggles to confront difference of philosophy in his team. He looked so frustrated on the sidelines last year many times. I’m glad he appears to be hiring gentlemen he can lead and trust to execute his plan. It’s a completely new day in Denton. Kind of exciting even though the unknowns are significant. GMG

$28 Million Locker Room Renovation-Say what??
NM Green replied to DeepGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
I do feel their is a missing game. I love the magical runs Boise and UCF can go on but after watching James Madison vs North Dakota State then Clemson LSU I feel there should be a G5 championship game or something Similar. I would have tuned in and been juiced to see Memphis vs Boise this year. Put it in a 60,000 seat destination stadium and then you have 3 cream de la Creme games with really good teams battling it out for a championship title. Now I went to the Memphis penn state game and Memphis brought more fans and were louder. They held their own. Slightly torn about this because it would be the final split. But Quality matchups rock. I attended the BYU vs Portland game in Provo and the tickets were only $9 for general admission. Did the men’s volleyball game the night before for $6. Kids everywhere, yeah I know it’s Provo. But I even thought they hook them young in Utah. Rah rah rah rah rah go cougars! repped our celebratory Mean Green beanies celebrating the FAU beat down! GMG

I’ve been traveling but watching this team grow from a distance. After the UTA game which was the one I got to see I felt we were trending in the right direction. Now I feel like our stout non conference slate has prepared us well. Nothing would be finer than to see a sea of Green in Frisco as we make a deep run for The crown. Keep it rolling MG! GMG

Three more bowls next season despite lower attendance

Never ever ever too much college 🏈 football. GMG -
This would have been a perfect bowl game for us in 2019: off graduation weekend, perfect sunny day, close location, 25,000 wearing Mean Green. I went to the cotton bowl and let me tell you, I can’t wait to get back. Win or lose those penn state and Memphis fans partied before and after the clash. Don’t rush this staff. Build it right with hungry experienced developing leadership. FAU is setting a nice bar as the beast of the east. Time to create the best in the west. GMG

I think kellen Moore would be awesome. He could stay local and line himself up for a power OC position or head coach or coach in waiting. He’ll probably be snatched up in the nfl but worth a try. GMG

Big 12 play has impacted Texas football. That’s why I love the sec it’s got some old school in it. peach howl proof went to the cotton bowl and Memphis played a good game. Penn state just wore them down. gmg

People we’ve missed one bowl game. Not ready to throw out Seth yet. Recommit and go win the league and bowl game. Don’t want skip in Denton. We don’t need to chase a coach from Ruston no matter how much I respect his accomplishments. Paint CUSA Mean Green 2020

And UAB is taking it to a Top 20. It's early but UAB looks pissed. I wish we would have looked pissed against Troy. We moaned and groaned we had to play the Sun Belt. App State coming. Time to root for UAB to get CUSA's second big W today! Way to go Mean Green Hoops! GMG

They are about to meet that Florida speed tomorrow. I was at our championship game in Boca when it looked like men against boys. Florida speed better than Texas toughness. Hurts to say that but I think Florida Atlantic mops the field with pony tails. GMG

Happy for Kent state. Great win the Mac is 2-0 this bowl season. nicely done flashes! GMG

Yes, the walk into the stands for fist bumps, high fives and hand slaps was way cool. Usually they connect with the fans on the front row but they came up deep into the stands to say thank you to the fans. It was a really nice surprise on a heavy day in Denton with the firing of our coaches in that other sport. Nice to see Wren there and he was thanking fans and saying hello to everyone in his gleeful way. GMG

My first time to the new arena and I must say that I was impressed with the UTA gameday. They really make the experience interactive and lively. I like how bright the arena is too. The beer was cold and the game was fun. I went to the stage and this was a whole different experience. Great job Mean Green. UTA thank you for the hospitality. GMG

It makes sense for our potentially next 4 year starter build the right relationship from the front with a good coordinator. Reeder might have been good and just had a weird chemistry with Mason. We won't ever know. You can't have that talent and only coach him to 4 wins. Man, chemistry is fickle. I see a young up and comer joining Seth's team to lead this vital side of the ball. It is after all the face of Mean Green football. This will be good for Seth too. He needs freshness on the staff like the players do. I saw a lot of happy faces on the sideline this Saturday. The coaching staff was having to get them riled up to match UAB's emotion on the other sideline. They immediately went from having socializing having fun to being back dialed into the game. Strange. We almost derailed the West Champs. GMG

I bet the Lane Train coached his arse off the end of this year knowing two juicy openings were going to be there. Kudos to FAU for storming back and winning the East. Now off to FSU I bet he goes. GMG

It almost feels right for the SMU game to be in the blazing part of the season. It has also a direct affect on a few games after that both sides. So they don't have to call it a rivalry to realize this thing is building. I couldn't spit enough after that loss this year. I think UTSA would be a natural slot there. They felt weird to be meeting in September but glad we did when we were still hopeful. Frankly this season sucked but beating UTSA down actually made it a little less painful. Maybe its all the roadrunners in the family. I feel better after game when we win. Now strong is available too - out at USF. Seth could round up some decent talent who has done things before at this level. Time to go shuffle that coaching staff. UTEP would be a good end of the year game as they always bring fans to Denton and have a lot of local alumni. It is far enough that it doesn't really effect attendance too much on the Green side out in El Paso. People are going to go if people are going to go. I think almost everyone wants out of a home Thanksgiving weekend game. Maybe a place like Marshall is the only place in the league that can pull it off. Places like Texas and the big boys love it. For fans of horror movies, this was like Halloween 3 - Season of the Witch. Where after you watched it you scratched your head and said, "It had the same names but what the hello was that?" Thank goodness the series got back on track after it realized it's sideways turn and attempt took it right off the cliff. So glad the horror that was the 2019 season is over. GMG

I left the country on October 20th and arrive in time for one more Mean Green game. Hoping it was two but oh well. One more chance to freeze in the stands with cold cans of fantastic beverages and the rowdy 105 crew - yea I'll be there. Can't believe they only beat UTEP since I left. What a season. Still Green! Thank you Mason. GMG
