DRC breaking news: UNT to host Cal in 2023
NM Green replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I’m glad we’re starting to play some games out West. Vegas weekend Baby! GMG -
With so many new players and coaches at key positions it’s next to impossible to know what kind of Mean green team takes the field in a few short weeks. Just my thoughts on toughest to easier game: 1. At - Texas A&M 2. At - Houston 3. At - UAB 4. Home - La Tech 5. Home - SMU 6. At - Middle Tennessee 7. At - UTSA 8. Home - Southern Miss 9. At UTEP 10. Rice 11. Charlotte 12. Houston Baptist I feel we get revenge against the ponies. Utep is always a tricky game out in the Sun Bowl. Houston and Aggie will be flat out tough. We play Southern Miss well in Denton. La Tech plays well in Denton. Rice and Charlotte are improved but we get them at Home. UAB and Middle are two places we never or rarely seem to win. GMG

Tailgating in Toyota is outstanding. Has the old fouts field feel when it got good - all packed in highly social, More grassy knolls and tree covering spots plus you could throw a wicked Crawl party through legacy the night before. GMG

I like the pick axe ⛏ at utep. Perfect moniker for the Miners. Love the large sculpture that illuminates at night. Charlotte’s helmet looks pretty good too. GMG

I would say SFA and SHSU are two programs would put up a good game and we would need to be ready to beat them. You don’t make it deep into the playoffs as a cream puff. Abilene Christian seems to be scheduling up like sfa and they brought fans. They were just overmatched but I like their drive to play a tough non conference. GMG

Solid interview. So proud of him being our AD and super proud of our Mean Green!!!!! GMG

UT Athletes demand removal of racist song
NM Green replied to MCMLXXX's topic in Mean Green Football
Well they are coming for the Texas Rangers now. Runnin Rebels about to be gone. I feel like I am back in China where they whitewash all history, all religion, international influence...and have created a “perfect” but quite sterile society. I guess that’s what America wants. Weird direction for an awesome country that is awesome because of its eclectic and interesting build and people. Thank goodness Mean Green doesn’t offend. Yet. GMG- 141 replies

Just win and beat out Skip. You don’t do that you should be fired for the salary you earn. Make it happen. GMG

Littrell ranked #104 coach in the nation
NM Green replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
Again another divide. Who decides p5 g5 and who decides tier 1-5. People. People are horse arses at times. People slant for their own purposes and to suit their own motives. Make a true system that allows for upward mobility and consequences for not performing - see relegation in the Premier League. Until then these artificial separations don’t exist in my book. To each his/her own belief. The stupidest thing ever is calling basketball teams power league and mid major participants. Sorry does not compute. San Diego state BYU Gonzaga butler and Dayton slash that theory. But the horse arses still talk. GMG -
A chance for a stud in the shadows To get some eyeballs and more playing time. Life is inherently about smart risk taking. Let those that choose to stay out stay out. Let the eager seize the opportunity. GMG

It’s an sec stadium and game in September. It will be standing room only, sanctioned or unsanctioned or as they say in the South blessed or cursed. enjoy and Go Cocks! GMG

UT Athletes demand removal of racist song

Littrell ranked #104 coach in the nation
NM Green replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
All he needs is one good year to shoot back into the top 50. He has some serious intangibles that overrate On occasion. His underpromising quiet style works to his advantage. If he cultivates the right quarterback this year, he will become a popular commodity again. He has some skins on his wall and his stealth demeanor can be attractive to curious ADs. I’m hoping he surprises, succeeds and moves up the charts this year. GMG -
Yeah. They’re leaving Denton with a loss. GMG
-
Plus they are breaking in a new coach, so the entire offensive philosophy might go more conservative than what he could’ve played in at UNT. This move doesn’t feel right to me for him but I wish him all the best. When I lived in Hawaii for three years it was like having that expensive vacation every weekend. Maybe this is just an opportunity to enjoy the beach and Island Air for a year. GMG

Hate losing to them but respect the heck out of that program. They make us better and don’t care where they play how remote they are what their facilities lack...they’re Louisiana proud and just compete and win and win and win. GMG

Another C-USA/Belt Merger Article from Footballscoop.com
NM Green replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
Non starter for this fan. Until you bring the AAC into the conversation I don’t want North Texas to even consider this nonsense. GMG -
More power to them. Meanwhile some papers are trying to stick us with Monroe. I applaud their effort and they will become a BYU one day, Which is rich with a national following. I’m all about the doers so way to go Flames. GMG

Does La Tech have an issue with Louisiana? Again deal killer if they try to cram Monroe into this group. Arkansas State I’m okay with ULL not a bad add if Tech is okay. I really prefer leaping out of this but personally I don’t have an issue with Texas State ULL and Arkansas State. Let the Southwest and Gulf schools keep CUSA make the Atlantic seaboard the sun belt or whatever name they want to take. No Monroe Troy or south Alabama in the new CUSA. GMG

I feel Leopold speaks some truth. The Mean Green continue to demonstrate commitment, vision and a strong desire to rise above our current arrangement. Many SMU alums realize the benefit of playing each other and cultivating another city rivalry. You have rich private school in major metro and massive state school in one of the country’s most coming regions. We add value in our profile and naturally developing attributes. Inject enthusiastic leadership and success and we will look even more attractive as a program to many. Programs want to be surrounded by other attractive programs. The AAC has some deadwood as does CUSA and the Sun Belt. This unexpected situation we have been thrusted into can benefit some programs. All of a sudden you have a Pure reason to reset everything, including conference affiliation and peer program alignment. I believe in Wren and Dr. Smastrek. As a fan I can support home and away, recruit fans, donate and encourage tv social media ratings. Sound familiar? Let’s start again this fall. GMG

The Stand with Hank, Zach Orr & Marcus Trice

Help me remember the other one. 2002 New Orleans Bowl The Heart of Dallas Bowl The Stand as for Mean Green magnificent moments: miracle in the desert and Peter Pan. GMG -
These programs saw the biggest attendance jumps in 2019
NM Green replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Football
Memphis brought it to the Cotton Bowl too. They outnumbered Penn State fans and made an excellent impression. Texas Live after that game was a blast too. That was the Oklahoma sooner boomed game. That was the hungriest pack of tigers I’ve ever seen. Would love UNT to Earn the auto bid slot one day! GMG -
This...Lectured by people still landing paychecks into their accounts monthly or bimonthly. One thing I have loved about hustling with Uber this past week is that I’m actually connecting with others who are hustling themselves or heading to work to save and protect lives. People heading to the doctor for preventative maintenance procedures, getting an elderly high risk patient home from his weekly dialysis appointment. Even picked up happy UNT or TWU students celebrating the end of finals. Yeah, there is great need out there, all kinds. I don’t judge people for wanting to stay home and re-emerge at their pace. I don’t judge those students for celebrating and probably not social distancing at a party, they just somehow stayed focused and made it through one of the most ridiculous semesters ever. Celebrate on friends you earned it. Purpose rocks. GMG
