  1. Yesterday was the first time Vizza looked human to me - frustrated, error prone, upset, forceful. Poor kid was playing under amazing pressure these past couple of years and now with Riley looking over his shoulder it has to be gut wrenching on the inside to have a game like yesterday. I am sure Todd used the opportunity to reassure him and what a great teaching and learing opportunity was provided. Vizza is a good QB. I like him and want him to succeed personally. I have a feeling the team is going to come out with a vengence on saturday. It probably can't get here quick enough for the entire team. purr purr panthers - they are going to get a fight next week - maybe not a loss but a hell of a fight! "Are you gonna keep it strong, move along move along like I know you do!" GMG
  2. Look that is June Jones style of play, now Todd Dodge style of play. You can't or won't just turn off your style and turn on another. June Jones never did it when Hawaii was awful and there were 68 - 3 type scores at the hands of Boise on the blue turf. Hawaii also had an 0-12 season, something we may experience before Todd turns it around. When Hawaii was up they wouldn't or couldn't keep the ball on the ground to run the clock down. That is why I say we have made the commitment in full to this type of offense and play. We must take the humiliation and exhilaration and press on. GMG
  3. I am not the football expert but I can see that the lack of a pass rush is killing us. Only when the qb gets pressured do we even get them close to a 3rd down. Our defenders are not going to make a pic so go ahead and leave them exposed. I can't stand the pitch and catch and nobody fears our pass defenders. Bring the kitchen sink every time if they get the occasional TD in 2 plays instead of 6 plays then so be it. Maybe we disrupt the offense or jar a ball loose every game. That is our only hope in my opinion. GMG

    Sad

Its just painful because there were a lot of "new" fans in the stands yesterday - H-town and SE texas fans just waiting to jump on board. What did the teenager in front of me say to the rest of his family - big sis, mom, dad and other brother - "Next time we come watch North Texas can I wear a blue shirt?" Poor kid didn't even have a North Texas shirt but wore a Proper Green regular shirt to watch the game. I think the Dad was the grad and they made the exodus in the 3rd qrt - opportunity lost. GO MEAN GREEN!!!

    Sad

Were you there to witness Rice practically taking a knee the entire 4th quarter? The schedule - 2 weeks to prepare for Rice and that is what you put out on the field - intensity, emotion? Again be Relentless MGN there can be no more excuses and you had never ever ever quit as a member of my team. As the leaders of this program we had better demand excellence or we are not doing the program and those young men justice. And yes, I will be there in October and hopefully November even if we are staring at 0-12. But do not quit on my watch. GMG
  6. yeah this article pissed me off - it made it sound like he stepped into the mess instead of causing it! unbelievable. We must be relentless about this program and I am talking about everybody - Rick, Gretchen, the Nation, the Green Brigade (the best group I have ever seen at UNT by the way - thank you). World class brands are relentless about service, excellence and creating a magical experience for it's shareholders (owners!). We must demand improvement. Dodge must make statements about that product on the field. the players don't have time to or the priviledge of letting up. they must deliver or decide to not put on the name and the logo. they represent the greatest university in the world in my opinion and you had better take that responsibility seriously or be freed up to become a lumberjack or bearcat. that is all I can say - is be relentless mean green nation and DO NOT let up on this program - NEVER! GMG
  7. I saw a team quit last night. I have seen UNT at 2 low points and I mean really really bottom of the barrel low points in the last 22 years of following Mean Green football. 1. At NMSU in the 90's when I realized we had fallen below the Aggie program - the lowly Aggie program. 2. Yesterday when I realized how far below the Sun Belt and CUSA we are. Do you realize we have the worst D1 program in the United States! I never thought my program would be below the likes of Idaho, Utah State, Akron, Western/Central Michigan, New Mexico State, UTEP, San Diego St, Army, Navy, Rice, Tulane, UAB, Florida International, Western Kentucky and I am keeping this to 1A teams. Go down and we are probably below Sam Houston, Stephen F, SWT, Abilene Christian - thank goodness UTA doesn't field a team or we would all have to worship GO UTA who I respect as an avid Maverick fan. Give me back my program! gmg
  8. I joked at the tailgate before the embarrassment that nothing is ever easy at UNT. I think that is why I am so damn strong! Here we are on the cusp of getting our future shrine approved and then this! You know losses to OU and LSU like this sting - losses like this to rice sabotage our efforts. Again nothing is ever easy at North Texas. gmg
  9. I thought i also heard the most rice scored since 1916.
  10. Like I said to some fans earlier we have committed to this new type of play this coach this color scheme this logo - you name it we have committed to it and it is ALMOST all working - oh yeah except the W's. but i don't want to turn around now - we have to forge this thing forward and either sink with this program or ride it up the landscape. we had a solid turnout in h-town today. we have fans and students waiting to bust out of their skin with excitement for this program - we just keep shooting ourselves in our foot. its all about alignment and we can never align if we change everything coaches included every 2 years. it was a risk giong with dodge, maybe a risk that was a mistake but we are here and we must ride it out either to d1aa or to a turnaround. be out there - a new month lies ahead. great crowd in h-town today. turn it up in fouts. gmg
  11. prepare yourself for our first winless season ever! if we luck out a win we call it a blessing of great magnitude. gmg
  12. I came all the way to H-town for that. Really disgusting. Future weekend: - go hiking in the mountains and burn off stress from a crazy week or traverse across the country to watch the Mean Green give me stress and gain weight from all the beer it takes to wash it away! Rice scored the most points today since 1916! 1916! will we even have a program in 2016? gmg - keep the loss to fiu under 50!
  13. Until we are mathematically eliminated: UNT Arkie State Troy MTSU FAU LaLa LaMo FIU GMG
  14. I keep waiting for our SBC brethren to come on our board and beg us to stop dragging the conference down! My how the tables have turned. Will still be at Rice! Dodge turn this thing around! Fans continue doing your thing by showing up. I have faith it will all come together at the same time - new stadium, big crowds, Dodgeball unleashed, top 25, a return to a bowl. Tulsa dismantling New Mexico! GMG
  15. U-N-L-V UNLV GO FIGHT WIN!
  16. remember the days when all belt teams were getting blown out by 30 and we would hope to snag a few the whole season long. Today MTSU, Arky State, and LaLa all had strong efforts that just came up short. I almost expect us to get one of those wins every week! GMG beat rice
  17. The MWC is tough this year, Utah, BYU and TCU! If I were in DFW I would be in Amon Carter next month or whenever they play to watch the froggies take on the Cougs! That is going to be one heck of a game! GMG
  18. Okay out on a hike this morning where your mind wanders from do I want a ham sandwich today, to WOW its a beautiful day, to might I witness a Mean Green miracle tonight, to do I have limes for my tecate? Also, I thought about the stadium a lot! I am getting excited about the vibe I am hearing surrounding the stadium and the students. I sense there is a whole other fanbase waiting to be tapped and those are the eco-friendly Mean Green fans. Imagine a campaign titled "Unleash Your Green" where students all over campus can make suggestions about how to ensure our future UNT home is Green friendly and painted Mean Green on Saturdays in the fall. Unleash the ideas flowing all over that campus and allow them to be part of the building of the most eco-friendly stadium in the country. Its a natural fit to have an earth friendly structure on an earth conscious campus. There could be so many ideas captured regarding being "green" from the layout, materials used, toilets, lighting, tailgating set up and clean up, sponsor messaging, turf, maintenance, paint, concessions, gift shop packaging, gameday programs, promos, giveaways...I mean make this a project everyone can get into. Imagine the ideas! I work for a company building one of the largest eco-friendly resort projects in the world, due to open in December 2009. They market the heck out of the eco-friendly, green aspects of the plans. Give that hidden fanbase a reason to join the Mean Green fandom - their WIFM. GMG
  19. Come out healthy! UNT fans make it out of the stadium and back home safely. we hold LSU under 50. we score more than 17. Remember John Wooden lost early and lost a lot early before getting his players to play his system. When I heard this statement I thought of our very own TD. His system is proven. There are players out there to play his system. They are at UNT currently learning or on their way to the Mean Green. When the system plants we are going to be very very happy! Tonight is the Mother of all mid-terms. Put your thinking caps on and jump into the (play) books! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. he does or she does - just doesn't acknowledge it. Right now we are dragging the Belt down and keeping the SBC behind the MAC and WAC. GMG
  21. silly dump - we are lucky the sun belt lets us stay in this conference - consider it a privilege. GMG
  22. I love the idea of you tube - get those future leaders juiced up about the project and future. I also think if there is any kind of "green" component (outside of the Mean Green of course) that can be highlighted or opened up for input, that speaks directly to this generation of decision makers. I work in Vegas and our latest project in MGM MIRAGE is City Center which is a super green conscious project. The building has a ton of natural lighting, the materials used inside the building are organic and recyable, the policies woven throughout every department are green conscious. Everything about the building is on green alert! Imagine a student body that can have input and the opportunity to have one of the first super Mean Green stadium projects in the country erected in the heart of North Texas - is there any better marriage? The UNT student population meets Stadium designers meets Greenbacker loyalists! GMG
  23. Rick Rocks! I am hoping our students vote for the future - a nerve wrecking 6 weeks! Go Mean green!
  24. Why is this game being played? Don't get me wrong I hate the thought of eating my ticket to New Orleans but is anyone really going to be focused on this game with so much potential destruction and distraction going on over a 500 mile span of people, homes, life! GMG
