I love the idea of you tube - get those future leaders juiced up about the project and future. I also think if there is any kind of "green" component (outside of the Mean Green of course) that can be highlighted or opened up for input, that speaks directly to this generation of decision makers. I work in Vegas and our latest project in MGM MIRAGE is City Center which is a super green conscious project. The building has a ton of natural lighting, the materials used inside the building are organic and recyable, the policies woven throughout every department are green conscious. Everything about the building is on green alert! Imagine a student body that can have input and the opportunity to have one of the first super Mean Green stadium projects in the country erected in the heart of North Texas - is there any better marriage? The UNT student population meets Stadium designers meets Greenbacker loyalists! GMG

Why is this game being played? Don't get me wrong I hate the thought of eating my ticket to New Orleans but is anyone really going to be focused on this game with so much potential destruction and distraction going on over a 500 mile span of people, homes, life! GMG

I would like to see us schedule Texas State - the bobcats would bring a solid group up from San Marcos. Why not go after ACU too - they always brought a good group of purple and white to the visting section. GMG

Pour House the bar was great for an after football more football watching party. I will go back again but the whole $5 cover was weird - I know I know this is how they recoup the money they lay out to show the UFC fight, but maybe it could have been free with a gameday stub or discounted, something to get people from the game over there. I would love to see that become the postgame party stop because it is nice. GMG

Perspective: It sucks that we have to open with: 1. a team that will challenge for the Big 12 North if not win the thing with that solid D and awesome QB 2. a team that will challenge to take the road of Utah, Boise State and Hawaii - by name Tulsa is just Tulsa - by play they are very near solid BCS conference caliber 3. well a team that is going to be ready to explode after having to take an unexpected break from football at the beginning of September! Oh yeah, and they won the national championship this year! Do I expect us to compete against Rice - yes. Was I wrecked last night - yes. Did more beer help - yes. Will we compete in the Belt - yes. Could we compete in CUSA outside of ECU and Tulsa - yes. Could we compete against the WAC outside of Boise State and Fresno - yes. Are we going to leave Fouts happy one night this year - hopefully October 4th. GMG

I would like to see Riley become a stud receiver - talk about the options! Imagine when Vizza and Riley begin having the same brain - meaning they are in each other's heads, know exactly where the ball is going, see the defense the same way and mentally connect - it will be awesome! Could we see a QB controversy - sure, could we see an offense that strikes fear in the opponent as soon as they look at them walk onto offense! play your best players - we have to do that now. This is not a dress rehearsal - this program when it wins will have a pipeline of receivers and qb's lining up to run into Fouts or Fouts of the future! GMG

that was the conversation in my part of the stands - his players look lost out there. I know things often get ugly before they get better, but I hope Dodge knows his gameplan, continues to believe it will work, and will get the players to execute it. Its not that you don't make adjustments, but the worse thing for us UNT fans is a Dodge who starts to lose faith in his system. June Jones went 0-12 in Hawaii, had 4 wins seasons, had 7 win seasons had 12-0 season and they didn't ramp up easily going up and down over that span. Yet he stayed true to the June Jones system and got the players to execute it. it is coming to SMU and I can only hope Dodge can recruit statewide and nationally to get the guns to make this system fly. beat Ike! Of course it will be cancelled - call me Hurricane green! I had tickets to the LSU game in 2005 as one of my trips for Mean Green football only at that time from Hawaii. Coming from Vegas now so not as big of a disappointment if it doesn't go. Yet, I know those Cajuns and they are going to be ready for a game come UNT weekend. Wouldn't be surprised if they have the Death Valley team working on overdrive! GOD Bless Louisiana. GMG

People wandered into my office to see if I was distraught today. I have witnessed too many Dodge style offenses to realize that if you cannot get it going you are not going to win. Conversely if you do catch the rhythm you have a chance to win. Based on Tulsa's defense I am confident we will get it going on Saturday. With any kind of defensive improvement we are in the game with Tulsa. With some solid improvement we win. With great improvement on the defensive side of the ball we beat down Tulsa. The way you beat Hawaii, SMU or UNT is to not let them get anything going - congrats to KSU. Both programs 1-1 after Saturday! GMG

our job to stop them - everyone makes weird moves now and then. I was at that awful game where we routed Ark State at Fouts during the glory years and we did the silly grenade in the endzone. I hated that because it felt disrespectful and I didn't like seeing people having their faces rubbed in the turf. It all evens out and one day we will have to call off the dogs. GMG

Darn we need a win. I was in no way wishing for the glory years of DD? I happen to see the Utah State Aggies in person and noticed how similar they looked to the program I followed to New Orleans for 4 years in a row. He has the running back and qb and play that looked a lot like us a few years back. I wish him and the aggies nothing but good in the wac - will they win, who knows - will we win, who knows - its just a game of football after all. beat down tulsa! GMG

bite your tongue - we will beat Monroe! They have always been the closest thing to a rival we have ever had next to NMSU. when we are down we beat them - when they are down they can beat us! The Mean Green offense needs a rhythm and when that hits (tulsa) the Green are going to roll. The difference is that this year DeLoach will not let his defense get smoked quarter after quarter, game after game. once we put some points up on the board and shut the gustav hurricanes down on a few series we will pull away for our first W of the year! at the end of the day, win, lose, slaughter or get blown out - does anything beat a hot humid beer drenched day in Mean Green Country for the home opener? didn't think so - BE THERE - GET CRAZY! Just got back from the UNLV game where I felt like I was watching Dickey ball West. There were some eerie similarities: 1. playing all the way to 3rd down sometimes 4 to get 10 yards. 2. wide open receivers with shocking drops maybe because they just don't get to taste the ball very often 3. the dreaded 5.5 minute drive with 8 minutes left in the game when down by 17 4. a drive to the 1.5 yard line with a 5 yard false start penalty - they were able to get the TD with 4 downs 5. USU ran 70 plays and scored 17 points I never wish Darrell Dickey anything but best wishes and am thankful for our 4 bowl games and experiences down in soon to be Gustav country, but we are headed in the right direction with TD. Prince has built a wicked defense in Manhattan and we simply couldn't get anything going. We won't see that again until Baton Rouge, but I am confident we will grow our offense in the coming weeks and be competitive in the Belt. This Sun Belt is tough despite the hard knocks today (kudos Arky State - that was my upset pick on that poll). We may not go bowling this year, but we are going to have some fun moments this year - be there to enjoy the ride! topple tulsa! Darn our BCS hopes are shot now! Guess i'll have to use that ticket to Miami for FAU instead of USC - so close, so darn close! next week we are going to score but so it tulsa - look for another navy game with us getting the 72 this time. We hold them under 50 and win. Prediction - 2-10 with wins over tulsa to help us feel better, and NLU because we always beat them:) ouch that trip to baton rouge could be a beating and in person no less! Oh well enjoy death valley and the craziness that is being tiger bait. GMG

Did you just start posting here becuase you just found the site? If so, we should get some flyers to handout in the parking lots, at the tailgats, in the Exes party at the Pit, all over the stadium to drive people here. Once here you are hooked and if we could get even more students, exes, southlakers, curious folk, disconnected diehards (they are out there and everyone needs a home) we could begin to elevate communication even more. We need a more organized POST football game tailgate! My friends and I hang out and drink after the spot - is there anything better than a cold one on a hoarse throat after all the yelling! 2. Was in Reno this weekend and couldn't help but feel like the Nevada campus had a North Texas feel to it. Even the town was semi-college but not so much - kind of like Denton. Overall nice campus, stadium with a track - however, they get Texas Tech at home the weekend we beat up on Tulsa! GMG
