Do you really want any distractions at this point if you are TCU? Isn't Utah enough? Ain't nobody picking the Utes to come in and even play a game on Saturday. This is starting to remind me of the BYU drama a few years ago or was the Indianapolis Colts - someone worrying a lot about the color socks they were wearing with the uni - went out and got beat down. Don't think it will happen on Saturday but the traditionalist have got to be grabbing their stomachs now. GMG

I applaud Rick V for this hire of Dodge because it was risky as he**ll! I mean talk about thinking out of the box and getting huge pub the first 2 seasons! But I know Rick bleeds Green now and he is frustrated as heck like we are. I love the fact he feels our pain unlike Helwig did. Helwig didn't even care about UNT at the end and Rick V is determined to turn this ship around. He has not been perfect but I love a risk taker and he has taken us through the good and bad. Most importantly what we will see at 11:00am in less than 2 weeks has made me appreciate his time at UNT forever! Thank you Rick and GMG!

I was thinking about the loss to UNT too. You know that was a nail just as it would have been for Dodge had we lost to the red blobs. GMG

With all due respect I wanted to see Tune get a shot just to mix it up on Saturday because without any threat of the deep ball this team is doomed! Riley has to improve in that area or we will be like those bad Tech teams that got figured out and shut down - 6 points of frustration but a suntan on Saturday. GMG

why was the "expecting to win" comment so disturbing? I am just curious because I am missing the agregiousness in the statement and would like clarification. I would hope he was expecting to win. It was ULM and they are stout on D, but they are still ULM and as a fan I sure expected them to win. ULM played a practically perfect game. I kept waiting for that break or to cause a break and nothin ever came our way - frustrating! GMG

That was one of the worst games I have ever seen in my 23 years of following Mean Green football and it was because it was home. Talk about uninspired play. Our guys looked like they were sleepwalking. Again have not seen before my eyes the Mean Green win in like 4 years or something like that. I keep picking the non-western kentucky game - darn me! The tailgating lot was empty compared to Sep & Oct games. I showed up 15 mins before game time and landed a $10 slot. Even the attendants looked bored and sad they had to take my money. Gosh the juice is off this situation. I don't even think SLC people are showing up anymore. So glad my tailgate friends decided not to go because the whole event reminded of that crazy Tuesday night affair a few years back against Troy. Remember how random that game seemed? At least we won 21-0 if my memory serves me right. Oh well - now I go for the Green Brigade and to see some old friends. See you at the groudbreaking and Army - 1 more tragic fireworks show followed by the best Green Brigade closing song ever! GMG

I don't care what SMU does - gosh bless them if they finally get to a bowl after what those people have been through. This is what I have been waiting for - a team that sees some belief. The key is to build upon it and begin to win the close ones. We have kept all of our games close except Troy so learn how to win and win again and again and again. We have an offensive team who has come along nicely and we need our defense to develop quickly to win more games this year. Last year we couldn't score. This year our D has a lot of leaks. Maybe next year we put it all together and stop people and score. I see our "Texas Tech" system emerging but we need to win at least 1 more game this year. I shutter to think of how good we would feel if we beat Army and FIU! ULM will be tough but we need 1 more win. Keep the streak alive - Sep Win, Oct Win, Nov Win? GMG

On a bright note - what a nice change to see Riley play mistake free ball - the entire team played much more disciplined than in previous games. NO TURNOVERS!!! Way to go GREEN! GMG!!!!!

Deaf ears brother - deaf ears! None of those games are sure wins for us and after what I have seen, I believe a last minute loss might just be in order. It will be dramatic, devastating and expected. Until I see a win I do not believe. I do not see near the urgency required for a program in this state. I have not seen the Mean green win in YEARS! Many of us haven't seen a UNT win in YEARS! I can't even remember the last W I saw from my alma mater - I am numb! If you have a fanbase who hasn't seen your squad win in almost half a decade - I had better seen blood scratches clawing - whatever it freaking takes to get a W. I would expect to see that this Saturday, but I don't have faith - I believe we will see a team try and if we win we feel good for a bit - if we lose we chalk it up to "we are getting close!" the script is very easy to read and it's a loser. I want to see throw up on the field intensity this Saturday. Bring it! Finally bring it! GMG

uhhh walking around a cruise ship this weekend in my Mean Green gear and people: A. still asking, "so where is North Texas" B. stating, "you all are not very good are you?" Understatement of the last half of this decade! Boise State offers a trucking degree - but I sure would feel great dawning their gear right about now! Bring back the pride! GMG

The only difference between last year and this year is that we are not getting blown out every week. We did last year. This year we have been competitive; however, my fear is that a culture of losing is emerging at UNT. We worked so hard to change that and credit Dickey for allowing us to pound our chests for 4 years. This program is reressing to a culture of losing and taht scares me more than wins and losses. We will simply forget how to win and stop being proud of bein Mean Green.

There is no reason to not surround yourself with 9s and 10s and I am talking about performance here. Go out there and get coaches around you that have done the job before. Even if they did it at Abilene Christian or SHSU - get college coaches and do not be afraid of surrounding yourself with talented people. We are a joke of a program. I will be there for ULM but this is old. Deloach was supposedly a 9 or 10 and he has turned out to be a joke - get people that have done it before around you. get us a coach - stop embarrassing my degree! GMG

At this rate I won't be going to Troy again for another 10 years and even then we may not be able to be competetive with you all - sorry for such a sorry arse squad. Sorry we continue to bring the Belt down.

I do believe the rest of the SBC is holding their collective breath because if this machine of talent EVER learns how to win we will be good for awhile. MUTS better get it soon. La La cannot be looking forward to a trip to Denton next year. Troy will always be there and the Floridas are kind of floating out there - does anybody care? Arkie St is probably going to be our equal for a bit and most natural rival - a tale of two styles. GM

I thought we would lose this game bad going into it. I wanted them to grab it and they did. Then they handed it back ala mode. After a night of sleep I checked myself and thought - okay - turn this and get a win and the wins will continue to come. I hate careless football like Riley can sometimes play, but fact is we have 4 home games that we will be in - get a few Ws and this hurts less. However ohio and lala two of the toughest since 1988 in austin. GMG No white flag here!

Remember when Nebraska use to look scary! Weird watching the Nebraska in those tradition rich unis look bad and little! Colorado the same thing! I know Big 12 football is about finesse but Texas still looks like a Texas sized football team. These 2 teams tonight look like JV compared to the LSU, Florida, Georgia USC, OSU's of the world. They look like the mid MWC/WAC teams of UNLV Hawaii... CSU, BYU Utah and even Boise look stronger and more talented than two of the Big 12's premiers - especially Nebraska! How in the heck can they not recruit cornfed players to overwhelm a line and run the ball down a Mizzou style team? Eventually you get an ugly(playing) qb like FLA and you find yourself winning games that fit your style. This will never be Nebraska's style in my opinion. TCU would be cleaning red or gold clocks tonight. GMG

You are not kidding - probably 22K. Watching Nebraska and Mizzou is reminding me of that constant downpour - yet both team played way more crisp than what is on ESPN tonight. Betcha Army brings in about 26k. GMG
