  1. May looks like good fit for Michigan. And yes we need teams in our league to be good and sharpen each other’s saws. San Antonio needs to step up because they would bring fans to Fort Worth. How long are we at Dickies? I love it but if we ever move it, it should go to New Orleans. GMG
  2. I enjoyed this season too. I didn’t watch a lot in person early but quickly grew to love this team’s personality. They fought to the end. I too think we could get an invite. We’re a bubble for sure but this team is a fun watch. I like how Ross sped up our play and made us very entertaining this year. Entertainment product A! Season B. Let’s grow and learn how to take those close games. p.s. - watching Temple and Charlotte. These refs have swallowed their whistles. Such a differently called game. No flop whistles no Banging under the basket whistles. I can’t tell who is going to win this but I lean Charlotte and their finesse. But FAU mucks it up and that’s been successful for them. We almost got them 3 times this year. Grabbing the close wins is NEXT. GMG
  3. I bet Steve Lutz gets a look. Watching his Hilltoppers beat up middle right now. He got WKU to 20 wins in year one. Is from San Antonio and won some Southland titles at TAMU-CC. Coached at incarnate Word seems to have good Texas ties GMG
  4. I tend to think this is a good looking job for the right candidate. 1. Good league. 2. San Antonio is a basketball starved city with the Spurs stinking right now. 3. no other major sports leagues to compete with. 4. high basketball IQ town. 5. The expectation bar is low right now. 6. Get to move to live in Texas. GMG
  5. I’m wondering if the philosophy will change in the type of programs that could be invited to the AAC with the new Commish. If so, you would think App State La Tech Coastal Texas State JMU and USA could be possibilities. I still think San Diego State Oregon State and Washington State could still end up in the 12 and that will make for some really juicy targets for the American. Right now, separate, build the American. GMG
  6. I love the mountain west. League games are a blast. Their markets are big supporters, huge supporters in the case of Albuquerque and San Diego. UNLV rocks when they are good. Boise CSU Nevada and Utah State have figured out to get good. I feel this coming in the AAC. Brought on believe it or not by the former CUSA members. We had a nice turnout in Fort Worth tonight. When UTSA figures it out they will bring a nice contingent to Cowtown. Charlotte UAB and FAU need to keep building. Wichita State and Memphis need consistency. Tonight I tasted a bit of our future in this league. It was fun. Beat FAU GMG
  7. Taco Heads I believe is the name. Literally right across from the entrance of the arena doors. I see many green parties here for years to come. It was a great production by the Alumni Association. GMG
  8. That story on channel 11 was incredibly well done. Almost brought tears to my eyes. This team makes me so proud to be Mean Green!!! Go Ladies! GMG
  9. Serious question though: when you see that thing roll out don’t some of you wonder if it is going to work this time? That means there is a pattern or trend. Or like I mentioned earlier I was shocked when it worked and flew a t shirt to me up high. It’s kind of comical please don’t fix it. The betting odds followed by the unknown makes it entertaining. And thank you students and Taco Casa for enhancing our game days. It was a fun home season. Beat Rice GMG
  10. More basketball please. Anywhere. GMG
  11. I was shocked a few games back when it worked and shot a t-shirt directly to me up high. I was expecting just smoke and walhaa a t- shirt flew out. Now can we get new branded sweepers that work for next season? Also, whoever leads those kids sweeping up the sweat, put a little hustle into them. I feel like the refs and teams are standing there waiting for them to get off the floor. I want some bounce in those young steps. Hustle hustle bring the energy! GMG
  12. Memphis up strong early then the Ladies fought back to take a lead they are nourishing. Fun game. These ladies en fuego 🔥 GMG
  13. Indiana and Vanderbilt have to be on the chopping block as you need space for Florida state and Clemson. Next two would probably be North Carolina and maybe Miami? The split is coming. What’s interesting is they think all the fans of the other 100 schools are going to pick a school to poor allegiance into and we’re talking about gate sales and tv viewership. Thats not how college football works. They’ll learn. I don’t personally believe a model that slices fanbases out builds up a league or sport. Again, they will learn. Just keep playing beating peers tailgating bowling and winning. It will all still be so much fun. GMG
  14. I’m excited to play Wyoming. An intriguing team with name recognition. One of their alums is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. We will eventually merge with MWC PAC forces. May as well see where and how we stack up. Plus that away game in the mountains is going to be sweet. GMG
  15. Rip the seats, benches out of a section and put leaning rails cup holders in them. Put this section in the end zone near the in stadium pub and allow guests to wander down with cocktails, beers, waters…this will become a rowdy section at the games mimicking sections like Tmbers Army, Los Verdes in Austin and Stretford End in Old Trafford. I personally don’t like sitting at games and if they made a section like this, you would see some diehard alums new graduates, kids and more simply stand and roar all game long. It would be like an in game party in that section. I’d buy a season ticket for this section in a heartbeat. Haven’t had a seat in Toyota for a decade and these “seats” or spaces are usually more cost effective too. Get creative to spawn engagement. Other perks in this section allow you to get a wristband and hit the Supporters only beer and food line. No seat to sit in, but cheap, faster service options, wristband recognition. GMG
  16. Great work and great idea. Organized supporter groups make noise, get tv shots and lift the energy of our away team. You captured the attention of the smu fans on their board. I went to Rice last year and that gym was already loud with our good Houston alumni base down there. That game is going to rock. GMG
  17. What about the Sun Belt CUSA and MAC? Thats a lot of teams too. Our basketball league has made me more interested in our football league. GMG
  18. We need to keep going after series with MWC teams. Those teams have big win totals and are sometimes ranked. Yet they look beatable. It’s a different style of play I think we could match up well against. Give me some New Mexico Utah state San Diego state Boise Nevada and CSU. MWC and AAC play different styles to my untrained but observant eye. GMG
  19. Heck of a game. I have grown to love American Hoops! Congrats Bulls. We hung with the beasts in this league. See y’all in Fort Worth. GMG
  20. Love that. It’s creative and kept me intrigued. WVU GMG
  21. Build the culture. We have built the basketball culture we need to build the football culture, and I am cautiously excited about what Morris is doing this offseason. There is still that beast in south Texas but with a few pegs we go bowling and start steering the football program in a great direction. but this is bball tonight! We held serve and downed a pony. It’s fantastic! GMG
  22. I guess that what bugs me most is the term “power conference.” WCC is a power conference with Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s. Mountain west with a projected 5 teams in the field of 64 is a Power Conference. GMG.
  23. The label is stupid. There is no power conference designation in basketball. Those mountain west programs run circles around many programs in the big 10 ACC sec…in attendance intensity quality and lore. Cede no territory belief or mindset. GMG
  24. It’s almost that “sign” or reminder how cool it was to be in Denton. We’ve all had that sign on this board. Hence Denton and UNT live on wherever we go. GMG
