  1. All these people trying to shorten the already short football season is wild to me. As a soccer fan I dig a 9 month season. Even the 3 months feels eternal before week zero. My approach this post season is just have fun. Have a blast of a tailgate with friends. meet some cool TSU peeps. Enjoy the game whatever it yields. Hit the bars on SMU blvd for some post game shenanigans. There are worse days. GMG
  2. Well this is delicious. The Frisco Bowl party against Boise was a blast. Make it happen athletics, association, whoever is spearheading this fiesta. GMG
  3. Be The Team. Seize the opportunity. Be the Team that breaks the bowl drought. Be the Team that wins against the odds. Be the Team that rises up to shout “Enough.” Be the Team to finally win in Ford. Be the Team that gets fans cheering “AAC” in the 4th quarter. Be the Team that generates hope for the rest 2025. Be the Team that shows UTSA how it’s done. Be the Team that lifts a trophy within the first 3 days of 2025. GMG
  4. So who are we? If I look at UNT objectively on this age of NIL I do some of the things we are doing: 1. Get a coach who plays entertaining football. 2. Sell the location and opportunity to display your craft, expertise. I’m talking coaches and players. Be the machine that develops and gets you access. 3. Get a businessman who negotiates deals and hob nobs with AAC brass. Keep us in a top league that keeps its members performing. What’s missing: 1. Institutional drive beyond the hires. We’re talking a collaborative push from inside the house to make the sports scene rock for students, alumni who car and the community. 2. A strong DC to make the entertaining football more palatable. We may have closed this gap. Time will tell. 3. A strong Alumni Association connected and firing on all cylinders. I have no idea what is happening here. Feels disconnected broken in transition. 4. A band that is dialed into Gameday experience creation. Love some of the things they do but they seem to do what they want to do versus being integrated into the program plan. 5. Event outreach to the community. Denton is only getting bigger. It will not be old Denton no matter how strong it tries to hold on. So it seems like we are making some progress but we’re inside the fish bowl. We need to praise what is being done well and fire and hire on the points missed right now. Jared strikes me as a good businessman and business people know how to make tough decisions. People on alert know they are on alert. The key stakeholder here is our new president. Who is he? I’m not sure yet. He could be assessing. He could be plotting. He could be cruising. We’ll find out. Keep progressing. GMG
  5. It expedites the super league of about 28-30 teams. That is coming. We are in the scramble to be in the next league right now. Need a bowl win and AAC run next year. GMG
  6. It could happen Navy is no slouch this season. Will be a fun patriotic tilt next weekend! Go America 🇺🇸 GMG
  7. I can’t wait to return to the blessed soil of the USA to chat with my blue blood SEC friends to see how they feel about this whole playoff thing. It has given access to a host of programs they are so uninterested in. Is the country equally uninterested? I think so. Boise or a G5 was never supposed to have a home game and bye. the Big 12 is a glorified G5 without Texas and OU. the ACC can still save itself if Clemson wins. Miami was a paper tiger all year. the playoff needs Alabama, a villain, in the playoff or this could be a historically boring ending to the college football season. The Big and SEC need to break off to preserve college football interest in the national stage. I’ll always be interested at whatever level UNT settles in at which will be a hodgepodge of Big 12 programs and some stronger AAC. just my take. Can’t wait for the chat with Tiga Bait and Rockytop. GMG
  8. That’s the craziest thing. I would smile and continue with the next recruiting trip: destination Aruba. GMG
  9. I want the New Mexico Bowl so just get us there. I want some 10,000 Waves and Meow Wolf in Santa Fe, luminario decorations on top of the hotels for the holidays, powder snow, roaring fireplaces and holiday craft cocktails. Throw in some green chile, lobo hoops if they are in town, and bang we have a destination bowl. GMG
  10. Not me. I’ll watch any football to satisfy through the long offseason and that is why networks still buy this programming. I’m not alone. gmg
  11. RIP Dana. Too young indeed. He worked his craft his whole life. A short life well lived.
  12. Western Michigan is off the board. They are set to play South Alabama in Montgomery on December 14th. gmg
  13. I disagree that it was a mistake by the Big 12. They could have them tomorrow but don’t want them in their league. They fit the ACC better anyway. B12 is not crying with ASU U of A UU and Colorado. Those are some potent all around programs. GMG
  14. Maybe Gus got wind that FSU is close to one of the top tier leagues. Lashlee doesn’t strike me like that and I think he hangs out unless a top 2 league member calls. Anyone with the ego of a coach is going to want to land there. Even a tame Lashlee will want to be tested at the best. Perhaps when Tulane and Memphis or South Florida come in as replacements he bolts. SMU is in good shape despite few programs thrilled about sharing a league with them. GMG
  15. I see this as a win win for Gus and UCF. They both get to start over. GMG
