Our support is for student athletes and students of the university, to give them opportunities they otherwise would not have. I could care less if bitchy,whiney complain about engine in a car the university owes me a life debt because I personally restored a cannon fire hat wearing people ever show up for a game. Especially when they don't call me out by telling me to "put my skirt down". The basketball game was awesome entertainment last night, some of you should try it.

So now because I support my university and the kids that play for it, I am a clapping seal. You guys are classic. I understand complaining about scheduling, coaching, marketing etc. But to call diehard fans names is beyond me. Maybe if you showed up, you would see a team that plays really hard, that lacks a true point guard (and before it is pointed out, I know who forgot to recruit a point guard), but on any given night can beat anybody in this league. For the last time. THE MEAN GREEN CLUB FUNDS STUDENT ATHLETE SCHOLARSHIPS,......period. Raising mgc memberships is going to be vital for the new "stipend" that is around the corner. Mgc money does not buy football games, or pay coaches salaries, etc. And make no mistake fouts field = still in sunbelt, so no the same thing would not be accomplished in fouts.

No, I am saying that to make this thing improve, it is going to take all of us. We don't have some magic money pot we can go to every time we want to fire a coach like other places. So we have to fight long arduous battles to get where we want to be. It took 10 years to get a new stadium, even though I heard that we needed to build one at the first New Orleans Bowl. Please remember, TCU was 4-8 last year. Did they give up on Patterson? No. The business model is invest, have long range plans. Stick with the plan. Are there going to be bumps that cause you to adjust? Yes. You can't just start over every other year. If you can't see the progress here, then I am sorry. But nothing is going to happen instantly, that is just the way it is. If more people gave more money, we would not be playing the Volunteers this year at all, but there is not a magic money pot to buy out of that game, so we play it and go collect a check. Imagine where we would be right now if nobody donated and there was no Apogee Stadium. There would be no CUSA, no home and homes with rice, utep, etc. You want your money back and move back across the highway?

George made a very large donation to the press level at apogee. He is as much as part of helping us get that stadium as anyone. I for one am proud to hear him on the radio every day (if I wanted to) and am very appreciative for his years of service and enthusiasm through thick and thin.
