  1. Oh no.....another voice of reason from the totally snowed velvet rope crowd. Welcome back ward. See you Saturday
  2. This president has proven that is not afraid to fire people. That is a fact.
  3. I don't mind talking to anyone about this, including mr. 90. I can be found at 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning September 19th. in the corner of the blue parking lot in between the pond and the parking lot. There will be an igloo cooler with enough bloody marys for anyone that wants one, and you can see one of the greatest feats of engineering I have seen in a while provided by one of my tail gate partners and fellow suite holder snowed donor RV apologist Bonded Lightning Protection. Come by, we can all rant in private, (cell phones will have to go in the bucket though because we allow no recording and will deny anything) I challenge you guys to come by, you might be enlightened as to the opinions.
  4. some of the crap posted here, for instance "rv raises no money" makes me laugh. or statements like "Have you seen where our athletic program stands after all of the money you've poured into it?" No, I don't see anything. I can't see the positives or the negatives. I can't read the standings and see how many games have been won or lost, so yeah, sorry........when it is a joke #itsallajoke
  5. yes, he did nothing about it. He raised no money in 15 years. None. HAHAHA #itsallajoke
  6. yes, yes, yes. The "development" guy that sits at the athletic center is Reggie right now. There is "mean green club" then there is development. I DO NOT THINK THAT ONE GUY is more important than the overall program. first year mac don't care....second year mac, distant memory....third year mac 9-4 heart of dallas bowl champions. 4th year mac 4-8. This year, 0-1 and counting. Dan McCarney knows what the bar is. He knows what happens with backwards. We either improve, or this thing takes care of itself. Its that simple.
  7. And at the time the development department was #1. so inept that and #2. hated the fact that the largest project ever was about to get off of the ground, that they were just not helping. You just have no idea the miracle that Apogee stadium is and the perfect storm that got it built. Again, I TOTALLY agree that we are to a point where wins and losses and conference championships are now the watermark. These coaches and athletes have all the tools they need, from recruiting budget, to money to hire coaches, to facilities in place. From the presidents office down, everyone expects success, including the head football coach, who just hates to lose. This thing will play out how it is supposed to. Half the teams in the country lost last week, we were one of them and it pisses all of us off. You just don't knee jerk with million dollar business models.
  8. With out being insulting, because I know you don't mean to direct anything you are doing at me or anyone like me. Let me explain to you how it went. #1. In the state of texas by law only 50% of student funds can be used to finance apogee #2. Bataille told RV he had to raise a certain amount of money before she would agree to get behind the stadium #3. That money was pledged in the form of commitments to suites and major gifts. (pledged, which is then used as collateral for commercial paper) #4. Those commitments came in, then it was put to a vote by the SGA YES THE STUDENT FEE WAS HUGE AND IT WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED WITHOUT IT But is was a collaborative effort based on long range planning which was 3 pronged #1. Build the athletic center #2. Purchase liberty christian campus for expansion of other sports and an academic center #3. (the big piece) build a stadium (explanation above) I feel you are making fun of me and the other 12 to 15 people that underwrote the beginnings of the stadium when you say it was all on the SGA, and had nothing to do with anyone else. If you want to direct your anger on wins and losses at the athletic director, if you want to say he is terrible at scheduling, I would say those things are quantifiable with all of us. But don't argue that facilities are not accomplishments of his, because that is simply not true, and to me you sound just as stupid as you think I am for making the above statements. And one other thing. It's not about glory, it's about helping our university, and helping student athletes with the tools they need to succeed, and being proud of the institution that helped us along when we needed it. I wish 100 people would come along and "steal some more glory", because the sum of the parts would be in a much better place.
  9. Can't in a "public forum" but you know that. Praise in public, criticize in private
  10. I know it is a crazy situation, but the facts are, our pool of large donors is very small. Pick up a program, look in the "capital campaign " section, then cross reference that with the largest mgc donors. That is your list
  11. Just what do you think is happening behind the scenes right now?
  12. This is laughable. The strategic vision of buying the liberty campus, closing the golf course, building a tennis facility, building and athletic practice facility and locker rooms, that was all the SGA. I guess the big ffffing check that I wrote for the stadium didn't clear, or the check for the athletics center, or the check for basketball practice facility. Stop insulting some of us with this b.s.
  13. Who is the president going to ask for this money? The problem that you have is that all of the big money athletics donors, and I mean all of them, have been cultivated by R.V. They are working to fix the development department, but it has been so inept over the last 15 years that there is nobody giving money to athletics that Rick has not brought in to the fold. Who you gonna call, Mattress Mac? He is gone down the road. And And And, R.V. has been quietly raising a crap load of money the past 6 months. Game changing money. Other than mac and benford winning somehow. The best you can hope does not include "buying out Ricks contract". This is not a RV homer talking. I am just stating facts.
  14. This is the best sentence I have read in a long time. It is my hope of hopes, that we are not witnessing a self inflicted implosion right in front of our eyes. See you Saturday. I am going for P.K. training on the new 17000 lb. smoker today. I will text you a picture. I have not seen it yet, but according to Mike R. it is a behemoth.
  15. I am tired of hearing how broke we are. It is simply not true. If we need to buy people out, we can do it.
  16. yes, exactly the same crap. 15 years ago we moved from the big west to the sunbelt. Our weight room was tiny. Our womens soccer team was playing on an intramural field. The locker rooms were worthy of hosting a 2a texas high school football team. We now have a stadium that is arguably the best in our conference. The women have dedicated facilities We have a basketball practice facility We are about to open a state of the art golf facility at the honors club I could go on and on about the positives, but that would only cause you to repeat your constant rant about the negatives So let me help you The schedule in football this season sucks As Bill Parcells says, you are what you are, and we are winless in football right now, and winless in a way that is hard to swallow. But in no way is the situation at THE FREAKIN UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS IN AUSTIN remotely the same as ours, so don't make the bad comparison
  17. Yes, because it is exactly the same.
  18. The main thing that is upsetting to me here is that we are starting a mediocre 5th year senior. I do not understand staying with the known commodity, when the bar for that commodity is so low. Are they in a vacuum? Because there is enough statistical evidence to know what this kid can do. IMHO you go with the unknown here. If we are admitting that the perceived upside of every other kid on the bench does is not greater than what we are using, then that is a problem. I don't understand being that stubborn. We going to wait and lose the first four games, including our "bought" perceived patsy game against the lower tier school, then start the learning curve to try to salvage the season? Is that what it's going to take?
  19. I agree, I wonder what the breakdown would be if you counted any ball that was thrown less than 5 yards from the line of scrimmage, and then any play where the ball was thrown more than 5 yards down the field?
  20. this this this. I did not see a balanced attack. I saw a different game plan when we got behind. If only the kid hadn't fumbled......
  21. Actually that would be 15 years
  22. O line isn't our strength. fast linebackers didn't play no "spy" on the quarterback play the quarteback that can run and Still make the throws thank you lance dunbar for salvaging the weekend for me, meaning giving me an ice pack for my boys, because the repeated kick in the nuts are getting old. august 30, 2014.
