  1. So we go back to October and pull an article. Priceless. Keep fishing in stale saltwater clowns.
  2. You are funding student athletes scholarships, that is what the mean green club commitment does. You are helping kids get an education that might otherwise not be able. Some of you guys act like this money is going in to a bonus pool that evil sith lords chop up somewhere
  3. Truth, rv mentioned s.l. the sunday after the wku as being on his short list. I have no idea when he was on smastreks radar.
  4. I will fix this right now. Rick villarreal wanted seth littrell.
  5. They would have to decide to use them. IMHO. and it ain't carpet thats hurting. We need 50 per barrel oil. see EKuehne.
  6. Undisclosed injury = pregnant. Concussion = failed drug test Change the t and f in treefiddy and you have freetiddy #itsallajoke
  7. And I could care less about you, or fire hat jesus. To coin a phrase, you guys are "all hat, no cattle " Regardless of who is coach, President, a.d. governor, I will show up and support the University. Flame on flamers. It's all a joke, really
  8. There is absolutely no need for you to tell me this again. The disease is apathetic donor base, lack of facilities, and horrible decision making starting with the lack of foresight to retain hayden, continuing with the drop to 1AA etc. I have attacked this disease with every spare amount of time and effort and resource that I have. Why is the bar higher now? Because with a group effort including students, donors, student athletes, etc. We have all set the bar higher, and whether you want to admit it or not, the man that led us from the abyss was rick villarreal
  9. I have never said that R.V. doesn't have his faults. He has hired Dodge, Stephens, Aston, McCarney, Peterson, Benford, Stephens, littrell Dodge, hands tied. A for being an ambassador, was awesome at private stadium events, and help sell it like you couldn't imagine. F for on field results Stephens. F, F, F, can you give an F-? Aston A for the time she was here, was awesome at private fundraising functions, really sold the program and its potential, and still believes in it today and stays in contact McCarney, believe it or not, going to give him an overall B. He is one of few coaches in history that one a bowl game here, and it was on New years day, in the cotton bowl. Peterson F,F,F great guy though and fun to play golf with Benford will not grade current coaches, see w-l record, you are what you are Stephens A so far. overachieving with 7 to 8 person bench only coach in history to defeat a top 25 team (7th at the time and still in the top 25 today) Littrell, incomplete
  10. thank you to say it another way and quote my friend Don Lovelace, "The only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time"
  11. It has been discussed here ad nauseum, but here is my reasoning. Football: Todd Dodge. There were two other finalist, but the president at that time would not allow him to spend the money, so the default was dodge. You can spin it, bitch about it, say I am lying, whatever, but this is the honest to gods truth. Dan McCarney: Hired a consulting service to get the best possible candidate based on budget and other parameters. This hire looked golden on January 1, 2014, then twisted into the toilet bowl rapidly. Was given contract extension at this time, in hindsight, ill advised. Seth Littrell: For the first time, budget was removed as a parameter, was told "Go bring us the guy that you want". From the beginning Littrell was in the top 3. It should be noted that we did not pay close to what we were willing to spend for Littrell, which leaves more money for assisants. Basketball: Hired two coaches. Johnny Jones walked out on his two feet, Benford...........reserving comment. see previous thought "praise in public, criticize in private" Women's Basketball: Shanice Stevens. Again, Dr. Bataille controlled the parameters of this hire, that is all I will say Karen Aston: Great hire or bad hire? On one hand, there is no telling what she would have accomplished here, because she has the lady longhorns ranked 8th in the country at 22-2 Mike Peterson: Mind blowing how bad he was here Shanice: jury is out, But she is the only coach in recent program hell maybe forever, that can say she is 1-0 this season against the top 25 So here is your big donor logic. Hands were tied with Dodge, not enough money given when McCarney was hired, love Littrell Womens basketball, Aston took one of the few jobs she was going to take, and if Texas had not come calling when they did, Womens basketball would look a whole lot different now. Mens Basketball: 50/50 on hiring, however, I think Jones underachieved. Business leaders hire and fire people all of the time, so the above does not bother people who are used to doing this. Only recently have we had the infrastructure to justify being successful in anything, ie basketball facility upgrades, practice facility, etc. Apogee, etc. Smart people know to be patient and that continuity helps breed success. I can not argue about wins and losses. Bill Parcells said once "You are what your record says you are". But a few people have invested millions in this thing, and they want to see it through with the guy that sold them on it. Can't wait for the backlash this open and honest post is going to bring. There is not satire or kidding here. This is the first straight up post I have written in a while.
  12. If RV continues to lose? To my knowledge, Rick Villarreal has not coached a game in his career at North Texas. Which large donor have you talked to that likes to lose?
  13. Hank Dickenson, Matt Phillips, Paul Batchelder, Mike Ashbaugh, Troy Taylor, Cinnamon Sheffield would all disagree about this turnover thing, bad argument. Fundraising, not a good argument either, otherwise we wouldn't have a center hung scoreboard in the pit, a dedicated basketball practice facility, a dedicated golf practice facility, the center court finally being finished at the tennis center..... I could go on and on, but fundraising does not suck., It really all comes down to wins and losses, because everything else is in place. There are no excuses left. Coaches have facilities to use and recruit to, kids have nice facilities, time to win
  14. Yes, the whole thing was designed so no interaction with low lifes would exist. The suites are designed so that even to see the low lifes, you have to press your face up against the glass to look down and see them. The only problem is, some of us love to tailgate, so alas, we must interact after all, thanks a lot r.v. Sardonic #itsallajoke
  15. The shows exist, but only sheep attend.
  16. At least spell Vanderbilt correctly clown Lather....rinse....repeat
  17. Care to name who bought their way in?
  18. Lather, rinse.....repeat
  19. I wish I could be there when the "which one of the three of us is gonna call" lottery Lands on "Michael weber". That should be a lively discussion on Bonnie brae.
  20. Lather rinse repeat
  21. lather, rinse, repeat
  22. Right now, I am broke. I was looking for any reason to get out of renewing my club seats this year. Instead of quietly going off into the night, I thought I would put one more jab at the thing that I love so dearly and sacrificed good hard earned money for, only to be kicked in the crotch on multiple occasions. If for some reason it looks like Coach Litrell is pulling it together, I will drive up there, walk across the bridge, and find someone with extra tickets so I can get in the stadium. It wouldn't matter if Hayden Fry or Mean Joe called me and asked me to renew, I just can't afford it right now. If anything other than this is the case, you need to renew your club seats. I got a call from Coach Litrell yesterday, and it was nothing like talking to McCarney. There is a calm about him. It is not "coach speak". This staff is going to work their tails off in every aspect of college football. From recruiting, to practice, to making kids go to class and stay eligible, to game day, I truly believe this is going to be fun and something we all can be proud of. Forget about Rick Villarreal, the hire has been made, Litrell is our coach. We have a beautiful stadium, a beautiful area around the stadium for tailgating, and a bright minded driven young coach. Gram Harrell? Gram freaking Harrell is our offensive coordinator? At this point, except for administration of getting you your tickets, football has nothing to do with any decisions made in the athletic directors office for a while. So don't jump off the bandwagon now. I don't really care if only 500 people come to the games, I know at least 150 that will be there, because those are the people that Steve and I are going to drag to our tailgate party and get their asses in various parts of the venue. You guys need to rub some salve on your butt hurt, stick your chin out there to your buddies at work that make fun of all of us, and tell them to watch out, because it really is going to happen this time. GO MEAN GREEN
  23. What did ernie tell you about this? He has an opinion. Did you ask questions or just listen?
