  1. San Antonio, San Marcos, LA Tech, NMSU, USU, and Idaho/Lamar/UTA/GA Southern. We could lose a couple to the MAC, so there's no telling how many we would need to add. Can't say it would make me happy, but it sure sounds familiar.
  2. The bottom line to all of this, at least as far as I care, is that we have got to start winning NOW if we don't want to get left out of a potential new conference featuring Big 12 remnants along with Western USA teams. Somehow I think there will be major resistance from many of those schools in adding more than a very small percentage of SBC schools, and we certainly fit in both geographically and academically. The next two Saturday's in particular could prove to be very crucial for us, and we need to pack the place against Indiana.
  3. I don't think I would really try and compare Dallas weather to anything north of Hades. But then again....
  4. When you do find him, betcha he makes you his betch.
  5. Wow. Pretty tough on a fellow coach. Can't say I blame him though, since it is all pretty much a truism. How we allowed SLC North to go on as long as we did is truly a mystery. But to tell you the truth, I really don't give a damn right now, because all I want to do this weekend is KICK SOME COUGAR BUTT!!
  6. I generally like the idea, but for now we need to be very careful in choosing which bodies to stuff in the bag. Sul Ross plays 60 year olds, so maybe we should call them?
  7. That's life. Football or otherwise.
  8. I suspect some of the extra dose of post-loss negativity this week stems not only from thoughts of what is likely to occur this Saturday, but also from what people see lurking in the shadows the following Saturday(s). The possibility of 5 uglies in a row is now not beyond the realm of comprehension. We really needed something positive to take from that first one. Btw, anyone know how I can change my name before I officially fade off into history?
  9. Although I'm not happy about a few things coming from the sideline both prior to and during the game, I'm willing to cut Coach Mac some slack for the first game as I did with TD. If the game plan against the Cougars doesn't improve significantly then I will bitch.
  10. My thoughts exactly. Oversized corners often means oversized problems in the secondary.
  11. Special to have a Cowboy great to motivate the team this close to the opener. Too bad he couldn't have brought the other two Ring inductees with him to help motivate the guys in the trenches. On a side note, kinda surprised that Haley made the ring when you consider his fairly brief Cowboy career and the off the field issues. I guess Jerry will be Jerry.
  12. Siamese twins?
  13. It would be nice if we could do something with it special and unique. We need to find the next big donor to foot the bill for a green moving walkway right up to the complex.
  14. I've tried almost all of the above restaurants, and it's hard to go wrong with any of 'em. Any recommendations for next time I go to Robertson? The last time I went to a Cougar game (TT), all we could find around the stadium was a Wendy's, and somebody tried to sell us something other than food at the drive through window. Seriously!
  15. Wow. Talk about lack of institutional control. Coach Dan needs to use his Florida connections to nab a couple of Hurricane "good guys" who want to separate themselves from that school ASAP. I know I would want out of that place whether I had participated in all of that or not.
  16. I spent the longest 6 weeks of my life in Salt Lake, so I can imagine that Utah would be quite a shock for him.

  18. He just earned my vote...for his opponent.
  19. Fantastic! What a month and it's only half way through. Hope this causes some of our famous music school alumni take note and step up to the plate themselves. Great news.
  20. You left out the indoor Bass fishing practice facility. Dallas Baptist just announced the start of a Bass fishing program last week, and i think we deserve one too.
  21. If the decision makers are forward thinkers, then we are a great candidate. If they are naive and only base their decisions on past performance, then forget it. Odds makers would probably say that our FB team and/or our BB team will break through and do something great (Bowls, NCAA Tourney wins etc.) over the next 2-4 years. Hope the decision makers wake up and smell the coffee.
  22. I really like our DB's this year, but it's going to be tough right off the bat in that two (and possibly 3) of our first five opponents are very likely to have their QB's soon playing on Sundays. Let us hope that our bookend DE's have a breakout year to make things more manageable for the cover guys.
  23. Not really supporting U of H's admittance, because I''ve witnessed the apathy first hand by sitting through many Cougar games (when they were consistently good) in The Astrodome surrounded by maybe 10,000 people, but Dallas County's demographics are very similar to Harris County's. The Texans are supported well for never having done anything, and the Cougar support has been MUCH better since they moved to Robertson. I think they would do well in the Big 12, but I personally think we would be a better choice. http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/48/48113.html
  24. I really don't think the bigger schools would want to be associated with smu at this point, but I guess you can't totally rule it out due to the payoff factor.
  25. Southern Miss. goes away?
