  1. Maybe we need to think about regularly lineing up Hamilton in the slot? He's an ex-QB with good hands, and the drops by these guys are killing us. DT looked sharp, and would have had excellent stats were it not for the receiver's slippery hands. We've got to keep the LB's honest, because LD is having to deal with a brick wall every game. It's not like our opponents don't have film.
  2. I'm old enough to remember the last time we tried it so I'm really not going to advocate it, but attendance like that makes the thought of independence not sound like such a bad thing. At least it would stop many from looking down on us because of the company we keep. All we can really do at this point is keep winning football games and hope that takes care of fan support issues all by itself. Beating both Louisiana schools would be a great start.
  3. Regardless of the sideshow distractions, we have got to do some kind of promotions to get butts in the stands. Five dollar wingzone seats, ten dollar wingzone seats with free wings, something! Don't think I've felt so lonely since the Abilene Christian game eons ago. Great win BTW!
  4. I have to admit. I felt very lonely.
  5. Have you ever even seen this "premier" (LOL) QB play post high school? High school star rankings are very overrated. NFL rosters will attest to that.
  6. Looks like we have two pretty good sophomores and a freshman who has apparently shown signs of greatness, so I suspect Gilbert would be more of a disruption than anything. Not impressed with his talent at this level anyway. On a side note, who have we had transfer in from a four year school in recent years that has done anything for us? I'm probably missing someone, but it seems like it has been a long time.
  7. Would be almost comical if TCU accepted a Big 12 invite, the Big East loaded up on their fill of schools, TX/TT/OK/OSU all bolted to the PAC 16, and TCU gets left out in the cold. That "uppityness" in Cowtown would be history. http://img.ibtimes.com/www/articles/20111006/226452_conference-realignment-tcu-big-12.htm
  8. That would likely speed up the Big East bidding process. CUSA is probably about to get picked apart.
  9. :thumbsd:Sure he was a great HIGH SCHOOL QB, but everything I've seen after that sux. Generally not a big fan of Horn leftovers anyway. No thanks.
  10. Maybe it's Yankee vs. Southerner?
  11. That game was winnable if we could have scored some points and avoided throwing the ball to the wrong colored jerseys with regularity. Without a mobile Kinne their offense wasn't overly impressive to me. Oh well, on to FAU.
  12. Maybe I did apply for the job? How the Hell would you know? You're probably one of those miniscule few who still worshipped TD in year four. This board is for expressing opinions, and if you don't like opinions that differ from yours, maybe you should get back to the safety of your precious PS3. Bet you didn't even see the game.
  13. Probably because we have already seen what McNulty can do, and if you have seen him play, the arm and decision making are not very impressive at this point. On a positive note, he does seem to run the offense pretty well for an 18 year old freshman.
  14. I guess some people think it is OK to lose now for the sake of building for the future. I kind of disagree with that premise, since we have such a horrible recent history, and we need to win as much as we can NOW due to the potential of a conference realignment explosion in the near future. I kind of left Tulsa this weekend feeling that their fans think of us as an itty bitty inferior program four hours to the south, and that's kind of depressing when you consider that they are the smallest school out there. Competing with CUSA schools NOW is especially important, since members of that conference are probably who we are hoping to be hooking up with not too far down the road.
  15. If we are competing, then 4 or 5 wins this season sounds acceptable. If we're getting embarrassed like we were for 3+ quarters against a Tulsa team that really did not impress me as having far superior skills or athleticism, then that is unacceptable to me. At least we competed very well last year under Coach Canales. Don't think anyone is anywhere close to screaming for a firing at this point. Just looking for logic. Hope he does a little better job "splaining" his logic tonight than what I have heard thus far.
  16. I just got back from Oklahoma, and am very disappointed in our coaching staff for playing McNulty nearly 90% of the game. I don't give up on any freshman, but the guy does not YET look like he is ready to play at this level. Our alleged second team QB should have been given an opportunity to show what he has got, but we still don't really know how good he is because he has barely been allowed to play. Reality or not, it almost looks like our coach is playing Iowa homeboy favorites here. A lot of ifs and buts involved, but we had a chance to be in this game if we had better play under center. At least I can say that I did have an enjoyable trip outside of the final score. On a side note, went to Fayetteville yesterday for the first time since the 90's, and that SEC built Hog stadium really blew me away. Very impressive.
  17. Heading to Okieland Saturday morning. Anyone know of a particularly good place in Tulsa to eat and watch the Cows & Lions Sunday noon after we get booted from the hotel? TIA.
  18. Who's to say we would lose by 40 4-5 years from now? Personally, I'm expecting us to be nationally ranked with a much better fanbase by then if not before.
  19. Our D shows that it has turned the corner and forces 3 turnovers. DT shows that he is now comfortable running this offense while LD comes up with 300 all purpose yards. NT 38 Aslut 17
  20. True. Winning will change everything.
  21. I wouldn't bet that all 3 of those teams will end the season undefeated, but I'm just nitpicking. Nice letter.
  22. If the tickets were too cheap, they would have less perceived value, and EVEN MORE people would be leaving early or spending half the game in the tailgating area. Maybe students need to pass the hat to help out our poverty stricken professors in need.
  23. The difference between us and the other Big 12 alternatives in Texas, is that our fanbase and recruiting would go through the roof in the Big 12 relative to the other possible schools. I very much doubt that schools like TT and Baylor want the sleeping giant to finally awaken anytime soon.
  24. No one has any idea how all this will shake out, because the decision makers themselves are clueless. I suspect that the PAC has some qualms about getting their butts kicked on a regular basis by TX/OK teams, and possibly has some academic qualms in regard to TT and Okie State. There is no telling how this will shake out; for now.
  25. Too bad we can't just wave a magic wand and quadruple our endowment, because I have no doubt that university presidents and other decision makers snicker when they see it. Hard to believe that even both FU's have us beat in that area, when we were founded around 75 years before they were founded in the mid-60's. We just need to start winning.
