That's actually not beyond the realm of possibilities. No telling what kind of additional dirt could come out of that situation before Bowl acceptance time. They turn down a Bowl (or get banned) because of their dirt, and we move on up and in at the bottom of the Bowl picture. Could happen.

Why the negativity about the "old WAC" of the 70's? In addition to most of the current MWC teams, that conference included teams like Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, and Utah. Pretty good company if you ask me. Boise had just graduated from junior college at the time and was playing little league ball. I would prefer going to CUSA at the moment, but I'll take any move up even if it's only half a step up. I think we would be nuts not to take a MWC invitation even with no Boise or AF. Aggressively trying to move up in stature (ala TCU) is the way to go IMO. Even if moving up in stature requires us to travel to China every other year to play Canton Tech.

I've never doubted DT. He's a QB in every sense of the word, and he moves a lot better than many people give him credit for. He's only going to get better.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly, but I'm still not sure if a fourth SBC team might have a remote possibility. Guess that depends on just how many teams end up eligible, and many teams still have three to play. We just need to get there as strongly as we can and hope to slip in at the end of the line. Maybe Happy Valley will decide to bow out and push open a spot at the bottom. Or maybe more of the never ending scandals could do likewise for us. Ya never know.

Hate to pee on the party, but with Arkie State, LALA, and FIU now looking to be Bowl eligible, do we even have a reasonable shot to go Bowling as a FOURTH SBC team? Even AFTER we beat WKU, we're both looking to likely be 6-6, so I'm guessing that we really need to kick butt next week to even have a prayer of playing a 13th game. Any thoughts?

Great win and great game for Hamilton. I've always loved his quickness and acceleration, and have always thought that he's a guy that needs to be utilized as much as possible. Sure hope LD is OK. Guess hindsight is always 20/20, but not really sure why we put him back in with Hamilton and Byrd on the sideline. It would be nice for LD to get those records, but we do have some RB's for WKU just in case.

I don't like it much either when "N. Texas" flashes on the ESPN scoreboard and such. Looks too much like "No. Texas" which is one that I really hate. Change the signage. If they refuse, I say we occupy North Texas Blvd. Or at least incite a student riot or something.

Certainly hope he's not totally anti-JC. Along with a guy like Obi, we could certainly use an experienced WR and D-lineman to come in and help out next year. A quality JC DB wouldn't hurt the cause either.

No disrespect intended, but why don't you start a few threads related solely to UNT football? Personally, I don't see a ton of additional UNT thread worthy topics to discuss at the moment that haven't already been gone over time and time again. Here's an idea, how about doing a little research and giving us a breakdown on Troy? I guess we should just be grateful that we have no North Texas scandals to discuss, and that our fans are interested enough to show up on the board in search of football related topics. Most of the other SBC boards (and others) are relative graveyards.

There is no sensible answer that I can see. Guess some people are heavy duty hero worshipers and cannot accept that their heroes can be so fallible. History has told us that people with huge amounts of power tend to screwup more than anyone. For Paterno's sake, hope he was going through a period of temporary amnesia, because anyone in his right mind should have reacted differently to that situation.

Glad to hear it's official. I think both guys will fit in well. Odoh will hopefully take some of the defensive pressure off of TM when we face big opponents. One more big wouldn't hurt.

About all I know about Okie City these days is that Abe Lemons is no longer a player or coach there. Guess I'll have to do some research before predicting. Anyone know if the exhibition is free this year? Seems like sometimes they're free and sometimes they're not. Plan on going either way.

Any halfway competent person would have had both McQuiery and Sandusky in his office ASAP to explain what went on in those showers. I mean, if Paterno and Sandusky were friends, wouldn't Paterno want to eventually know the precise details as to why his dear friend and campus icon was having restrictions imposed on his campus activities? Absolutely ridiculous and naive to think that Paterno wasn't involved in the coverup. Either that or the guy is senile, and has been senile for years.

Our little guys must be awfully quiet these days, cuz I don't recall us playing any obviously overmatched teams in years . If thousands of them start showing up in force next year, maybe it'll be a sign that we've finally turned the corner.

We would have had Riley and maybe Carey in that scenario, so it's possible that we could have 4 wins. I also think that Chico could have possibly had more of a free hand running the offense under TD this year. On the other hand, Riley would have very possibly been knocked out for the season against FIU. All possibilities, but who the Hell knows.

Really, really sux. I was about to open a thread on LSU starting lineup predictions, and now that is totally screwed because I had him penciled in at the 3. Looks like a little less competition for that position now. Luckily, we are stacked at the 3, but if Franklin gets rejected too things will get a whole lot less stacked. I was hoping to see Patton next week.
