With the exception of smu, whose fans could fit into a Taco Cabana parking lot, UNT has the only new college football stadium in Texas. All the others are very old and have simply been gradual add-ons. As basically the only new venue around these parts, it would have been nice if we would have at least worked a parking garage into the master plan. Maybe we did and I'm not aware of it, but it would be a nice thing since our fickle fringe fans (try repeating that 10 times) need every leisurely advantage they can get.

Since we seem to be getting creative, install the fraternity couches and letters out in the Wingzone seats, and shoot Gaspipe coupons into the crowd between the 3rd and 4th quarters.

Odoh is also 3rd in the nation in blocks (avg.), and 1st in the nation in total blocks. I'll take 14/14/5 next year. http://www.njcaa.org/sports_stats.cfm?sid=4&stat_type=i&gender=m&divid=1&slid=2&seasonselect=556&report_id=3767&requesttimeout=500

Yes, there definitely needs to be some new path work put in. We parked in front of a relatives house in the God forsaken Denia area for the MUTS game, and it was a pretty good (and wet) walk to get all the way around to the alumni side. Guess we need to remember that this was the first year, and improvements are bound to come with time.

I agree with most of this, but the unfortunate fact is that we are not yet a big time "build it and they will come" program. We have to do every little thing possible to entice people to cross that freeway. Accessibility doesn't bother me, but I know that it does bother some, and it would be great if we could minimize some of the game day hassles for the marginal fan. Hopefully the pedestrian bridge really helps out. Some great ideas on this thread BTW.

Shhhhhh....we need a nice crowd for this one.

The Feldt family (among others) might disagree with that.

We're not located in the national media centered Northeast/Midwest, we've never won a tourney game, and we're in the SBC. Hope one or two of those things soon change.

Let's blast him with comments.

Me thinks there is enough love to go around for them both, and for the rest of the team for that matter. Start a worship thread for CJ if you don't believe this to be true.

Thought this was a post about mac's new baby when I read the title.

From what I've seen, he's extremely athletic and quick for a big man, and he and Mitchell together should make a very formidible duo in protecting the rim. Good to see him have a big offensive game. Think I'll try and catch the Weatherford game also.

Cannot say that I disagree with you. McNulty's role this season made no logical sense at all IMO. Don't understand why some get up in arms when someone questions our coach's decisions. I love the guy but he is not God, and neither was our last coach. Speaking of God, God forbid anything happen to Derek Thompson, because I see deep trouble if something does.

Don't know why we even use that term. It's total BS to create a class system just because some school is in an AQ conference. Hopefully the AQ and Mid-Major terms will go away simultaneously.

Along with those crucial T/O's by CJ and JW, we lost the game because we got killed on the offensive boards. I suspect we'll have trouble against big teams all year. Unless of course we can just plain start shooting the ball at a decent percentage and out score the opponent.

Don't think we should try and emulate Syracuse, because last I heard they only run the erogenous zone.

Had a good time at the game, but J. Williams in particular really needs to get under control when he puts the ball on the floor. He'll be special eventually, but I'd very much like to see JJ reel him in a little until he totally gets that he's dealing with an entirely new level of competition. A bit of the same goes to Walton. On a positive note, CJ is already special, and TM will get it together sooner rather than later. Hogans played his butt off considering the height that he was dealing with. Certainly a disappointing loss, but far from being a devastating loss. Just another lesson for the young guys.

More OU players transfer...2 DTs!
foutsrouts replied to The Fake Lonnie Finch's topic in Mean Green Football
I'll certainly take those trannys (no offense) for 2013 as well, but I do agree that it would be great to get 2-4 quality JC guys for next year at DL, DB, and WR. Hope Coach Mac isn't totally averse to the idea, because without some experienced help coming in next year, we're really pinning a lot of our big hopes for improvement on a group of RS Freshmen and Sophomores. At least in certain areas. -
Middle up by 2 on Ole Miss with 15 minutes left.

Some of us actually remember the late 70's when those two things didn't even exist in the game. It was definitely different.

I agree that a new centercourt board like that would be fantastic. Some have said that there are roof weight bearing structural problems with the concept, but it's hard to believe that engineers can't come up with a reasonably cost effective solution. That old board was a lot better than the mini-boards and weak sound system situation that we have now.

SMU Thoughts on Jackson State vs North Texas
foutsrouts replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Thought those boys were too busy shopping on Cedar Springs to have any thoughts. Sad. -
I've seen him play twice and he's good. 70% from the line will make him gooder. Strange how I just now noticed how God and good are such similar words. Go figure.
-
Sorry UTA. Guess you don't exist as that 4th school in the area because you don't play football.
