Naw, those two are entry level. Entirely different situation.

Yes, why not encourage all of our old Southland mates to move up and join the party? That way, when the day comes for the final separation between the haves and have nots, we can all settle back down together once again into the cozy 1AA comfort of the good ole Southland Conference.

Methuselah? Welcome aboard. -
Why don't we just join the Southland or SWAC and be done with it. Geez.....

Does the club team no longer play at Mack? Not very familiar with the Denton area high school field situation these days, but working around their Spring scheduling could be a major hassle. Either way, I agree that something needs to happen ASAP. This thing has been dragging on WAY too long. Like since our brief venture back onto the diamond back in the early 80's.

Even if the first year or two are played at Mack Park.

If 24 is the case, what is our competition roughly from west to east? Here's my brief list, and let me know who and what I missed: Utah State (strong western candidate, with established BB program, and improving FB) NMSU (several things to offer, but UTEP no like) San Antonio (newbie to the scene, great market, improving academics, and potentially strong backing from both the city and the UT System) San Marcos (newbie to the scene, nice market, improving academics, and several intangibles to offer) North Texas (phenomenal market and location, at (or near) the top of the list in athletic history, academics, prospects, facilities, BB, enrollment, and yes, I may be a bit biased) LA Tech (established history, very recent FB success, but very limited market) LALA (see LA Tech, but less established nationally) Arkie State (recent success and nice prospects, but limited market and recognition) Middle (nice market, but limited success and recognition other than '12 BB) FIU (great market, but nothing much to speak of other than '11's FB team) FAU (see FIU, without '11 FB success) Temple (great market, very good academics, but likely doesn't want to stretch all programs coast to coast) If we cannot slip in with all that we have to offer in so many ways, I say we're in deep trouble. Independence once again doesn't sound great, but you never know. Personally, I think we get in easily with a 24. -
Orsini probably fillibustered the meeting when our name came up. Our chances should improve once he gets on his little red horse and rides away forever.

How true. Best to you and yours.

My guess has been that his injuries are acting up again, but that is only just a guess. He certainly has been owning the pine lately.

Yes, incredible numbers, but to play the anti-TM's advocate, those NINE Turnovers are pretty ugly on the stat sheet. The Norris four (in 9 minutes), and the Walton seven didn't help much either. By looking at the stats, the turnover situation kinda tells the story. I did listen to almost all of the game, and I guess there should be some coaching question marks as well. On a positive note, great to see Holmen hitting those mid-range jumpers. We are going to need that kind of a performance along with some inside defense from him in Hot Springs and beyond.
-
I agree. I'm really not sure who the true subs are on this team other than Robinson and Norris, and Robinson doesn't seem to be given much of anything at this point. Certainly don't think the "collapse" can be blamed on Norris, or Zo or Hogans for that matter. Just one of those things that I hope the team can learn from.

More like bad grief.

Temple and Florida Int. being eyed for CUSA/MWC Merger

What gives FIU such an edge over FAU? Is it because FAU is not quite officially in Miami, even though they're in the same metro area? Except for the VERY recent state of their football programs, I've always looked at them as interchangeable twins, with a slight edge to FAU beause of their new stadium and Schnellenberger's brief success. Isaiah sure hasn't magically built a basketball powerhouse as FIU had hoped. Go figure. -
Yes, he looked more aggressive and confident than usual, and seemed to have no qualms about attacking or defending down low when the situation presented itself. The only positive in regard to losing our two freshmen, is that our upperclassmen are getting some serious minutes. We are no longer putting a very young product out on the floor, and hopefully these guys can all come together and peak come tourney time.

It should at least make up for those couple of thousand fans we lost when a certain father son tandem departed the scene several months ago. -
Let me get this straight, you actually take PRIDE in the fact that your school is made up of a majority of non-Texans, yet your school is located in Texas? I think that's pathetic, and that pompous East Coast oriented attitude certainly will not go over well with your neighbors. And your neighbors just happen to be Texans.
-
I have several connections to your school, including a grandfather graduate, and I've known several attorneys who have less than stellar things to say about your graduates. Same thing goes for business, so I think that you are inflating things a bit based on the not exactly unbiased Eastern press, and the "propaganda" thrown around campus. I'm not a major smu hater, and I do agree that your academics have improved greatly over the last couple of decades, but you ain't Harvard and likely never will be. Btw, will you ever schedule us in basketball? I hear there is an abandoned Safeway parking lot somewhere just off Mockingbird if you all won't schedule us the normal way. BOL.

Dump LSU, find a way to move TSU, and bring in Florida State on 9/8/12 for a H/H. WV just dumped FSU and they have an opening to fill ASAP. Don't have our projected schedule in front of me, but at least it's something to dream about.

We sure had some special teams back then. Unfortunately, I think the Yucca has that SDSU score backwards. They were undefeated that year. http://texashistory.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metapth61039/m1/260/?q=hardman

It's certainly disappointing that it appeared to be quite a bit less than half full, but does anyone recall a better and more electric crowd for a Belt game? I don't, and I might be missing someone, but I would rank it in the top six of the 2000's along with TT, Okie State, LSU, Indiana, and the heavily "Coogered" Houston game when they were in the area for the Fort Worth Bowl. We also had a nice crowd for the Aggie game, but my memory is starting to fade as to what year that was. Amazing that we almost beat Middle with three primary inside bigs sitting on the bench.
