  1. Would had loved to get two bigs for Odoh and Robinson, because when you go deep into the big-time bigs are often pretty damn crucial, but I'm not complaining. At least the days of bitching about the lack of PG's should be over and done with for awhile. Man, this college trading thing has really gone viral these days.
  2. No doubt. MAYBE a three at the next level, but a certain 4 around here.
  3. Thanks for the heads up fella. Next time watch out for those U-turn signs, ya hear?
  4. Good for you, thank you, and bye bye!
  5. I saw him play at Eastland, and even out there where he often had 8 inches on his opponent he didn't take it to the hole with regularity. He is an excellent outside shooter for a big man, but he's probaly going to have to learn that he's going to need to mix it up down low at this level if he wants the big PT. I think an extra year of development in the right system will do him a world of good, and I wish him nothing but the best.
  6. Sorry to lose Odoh (assuming), but ya gotta love the added muscle. We were going to be pretty thin physically up front this year even with Odoh, so this is a very nice get. Someone to clog the lane and keep some of the pressure off of TM is definitely something we need.
  7. Hall was a warrior. He played through painful injury the majority of his starts. Special guy.
  8. ???? I never even projected a starting lineup, and with the coaching changes and potential for "no shows", I think it's a little early for me to speculate on who will start where at this point with any certainty. I simply asked a poster (definitely not you) as to the reasons why he seemed to think that Patton should start on the front line along with TM instead of the other qualified candidates. Now that you have made your case, I guess you are now free to go on down the road.

  10. Hmmm...I always thought of JJ as a pretty altruistic guy. Second team All-SWAC btw. Obviously a great athlete, but his numbers do leave some room for improvement. Here are his Grambling stats for those who haven't seen them. Couldn't find stats for his 2 years at Southern U-Shreveport. http://www.gsutigers.com/custompages/M.Basketball/2010-2011/teamcume.htm
  11. Why don't you ask your boss if this behavior is still ongoing, and please get back to us ASAP! We may have to quickly look at rescheduling our future games if you guys are being yourselves and repeating history once again. Your help would be much appreciated. Seriously!
  12. Guess I'll commit the ultimate sin by replying to my own post, but does no one around here know anything about Patton's game other than his past stats at other schools? Guess not, or someone would likely give a brief synopsis on why he should start at the 3 (or 4) over the multitude of other qualified candidates. Oh well. I tried.
  13. Based on his past stats, I would like to think that Patton will start alongside TM down low with Odoh mainly coming off the bench for defensive purposes. The thing is, I missed that Grambling game at The Pit and have not yet seen much of him. How would you describe his game? Not that he's destined to be an NBA Hall of Famer, but would you say his style of play is a little along the lines of a Scotty Pippen? At least that is how I saw his game described on a website somewhere. Of course Odoh vs. Patton vs. whomever starting could at times be based on matchups among other things. Patton, Mitchell, and Odoh going at the 3/4/5 against some of our bigger opponents (i.e. KState) has the potential to be interesting.
  14. Me thinks tongue very close to cheek in question. A couple of those names would be very nice for some unnamed team to have around though.
  15. niko stojiljkovic (if J's are a prerequisite)
  16. I'm very much a western oriented guy as I love to ski and enjoy the things that the open spaces of The West have to offer, but Rice, Tulsa, UTEP, LA Tech, Tulane, USM and such are where it's at for us now. Don't like SA and OD much, but CUSA not having smu means nothing to me, and Memphis is pretty much only about BBall anyway. It would be nice to be hooked up with U of H, but we can live without them.
  17. Ahh, but can they compete with us? We are the new Memphis on the block.
  18. I voted no simply out of wishful thinking. I'd rather have another one of our Belt buddies.
  19. Yeah, the eastern additions as well as SA kinda degrade our move a little bit, but I'm very happy to be associated with the rest of the likely western side of CUSA. Cannot deny that it is a nice move up.
  20. Thanks for the links. I guess the "Old" in Old Dominion doesn't exactly mean that it's old. I always just assumed that it was an older university, and I actually spent some time in Virginia several years back. Seems like CUSA could have made a better choice (Middle, WKU, A-State), but some of their decision making seems to be a bit suspect these days (SA). Oh well, it is what it is.
  21. Although I'm not exactly thrilled about jumping into bed with UTSA, this would obviously be much better than continuing to tread water in the SBC. Instead of being one FULL step behind the Texas schools that are heading to the Big East, we now (hopefully) will just be a half step behind. Nice stepping stone, and nice regional teams that most will recognize. I suspect that the influence of "UT" in UTSA's name is helping them out with this undeserved opportunity, because a few extra TV sets coming out of SA shouldn't be providing CUSA with enough added value to vault UTSA past a more deserving TSUSM.
  22. UTSA simply because the startup plans on playing FBS games in the way off campus barn known as The Alamodome, and happens to be located on the fringe of a lower level big city media market that has shown no great love for college football. Pretty sad if you ask me. Go with San Marcos if you must.
  23. Yes, his PT time could still be a little rough this season, but after we soon lose guys like Holmen, Niko, Patton (?), and some guy with the initials TM, I could see him starting two years from now along with Odoh, Jordan, Alzee, and Jones. Of course he has got to really get down and work his tail off to make that happen.
  24. I agree. Enrollment is certainly one of many factors, but if it were a primary factor in who you associate with, the Big 12 would be knocking down our door since we are bigger than all of the upcoming Big 12 members besides Texas. On an optimistic side note, we win big in USA/MWC and that knock could come much quicker than any of us could have imagined. Ya never know.
  25. never really thought of Mitchell and Robinson having similar skill sets. Almost polar opposites in many ways from what I've seen. Regardless, I hope Benford gets him to stay.
