  1. Since around a third of these big paychecks go directly into RV's wallet, we should be demanding much much more for these games. RV should be paid by the win instead of by the SEC.
  2. Or at Arky State, or at Toledo, or at Troy, or at Nevada, or at NM, or at Ball State, or at Bowling Green, or at Central Florida, or at all kinds of OOC places in recent years. Missouri has generally been pretty receptive to "ats" at non-P5's, but apparently our "at" is not relevant enough. Or maybe our AD is just satisfied with our acting like we're FCS?
  3. So when's the return game?
  4. Who said he didn't have good athleticism? You just proved my point.
  5. Being located in the middle of nowhere is often key to the rah-rah mentality. That's one of the reasons that you see so much rah-rah in conferences like the SEC. With the exception of private Vanderbilt, they're mostly located in smaller towns away from the big city. Well, A&M is getting Houston encroachment, but they're still out there as College Station Aggies. As we all know, winning big is the only way that we can seriously increase our rah-rah factor in what is now a very suburban Denton.
  6. I was always under the impression that he wasn't a hard enough worker to excel at defensive tackle. It takes more than a big body. Bye bye.
  7. You carry and brandish a firearm you better be ready, willing, and able to pull that trigger in a heartbeat, because the other guy will likely beat you to the punch otherwise. Sadly, this guy hesitated. Coincidentally, I was in the neighborhood when this thing happened and saw all of the emergency vehicles speeding to the scene.
  8. Yeah, but with the new regime there is at least some cause for optimism. If we get blown out by both smu and The Cookman I'll hop on that train to NT athletic perdition myself. Even though there's not much hope for any significant positive news for a full four months, I think I'll just try and keep my chin up until I see proof that we're going to absolutely suck. Once again.
  9. This thread is getting downright depressing. Almost makes me think I graduated from El Centro. A couple of you posters need to stay away from tall buildings and firearms. Don't worry, everything will be okay.
  10. And to think that we could have used that 2 million to round up 20,000 bums, hand them each 20 bucks per game to attend, and we would have pretty much sold out Apogee every game last season. Another missed opportunity by our promotions department.
  11. It's not possible to scare the hell out of a 1-11 fan base, anymore than it's possible to scare the hell out of someone who's already in hell. Besides, it's all probably just part of our new modern day stealth strategy anyway.
  12. Private school kid hate on his part (lol)? I'm definitely a believer in the objectivity of the press, but he does seem to stress the negatives on QS (and us) at a pretty high rate. Although I lean toward Morris at this point, I'm still certainly on the fence in regard to the QB decision. Hopefully Littrell will make the correct choice come August, and that we have a competitive situation brewing between now and then. Great to have position battles where guys are pushing each other to get better.
  13. "Everyone — and I do mean everyone — recruits DFW anyway. UNT has typically struggled to sign top players from DFW. UNT only had seven starters from DFW last season out of 22, less than a third." And just how good were we last season? OK, we did win one game.
  14. Could have sworn that I saw Buyers make a catch, but I'm not seeing it listed in the stats.
  15. Kind of sad to see, but probably the right thing to do. Definitely a geographical fit out there.
  16. But don't forget, " He doesn’t hesitate to pull the ball down and run. He tries that in a real game in the fall — if UNT had to play him — he will get snapped in half at his size." What's the point in getting the poor little guy snapped in half.
  17. Very true. Every P5 recruit is not a football God. It would be a stretch to say that the majority of them are.
  18. If I must choose, give me the great players.
  19. 3 years eligibility and a versatile punt and kick guy. I like it.
  20. I don't think that being a good slot receiver is all about running like the wind. It's more about hooking up with the QB mentally if you have the requisite skills. I guess we'll find out if he's got what it takes in 4-6 months.
  21. That has concerned me too. Hope he has a productive summer. He's short but looks pretty stout, which can make all the difference if he's good at slipping punches. Applewhite looked pretty frail if memory serves. Just hope that Shanbour doesn't have to tuck and run in real time as much as he did today.
  22. That is a fact. If Littrell brings us a successful Dodge/Vizza type of offense next year I will be happy, because I very much doubt that we will see the high school caliber defense/special teams units that we saw under TD. It could be a fun season if we can pull off our first two games. Looking forward to it.
  23. Mac obviously hates the vertically challenged. Looked like he has a touch of a poor man's Drew Brees in him. I feel a little better about our backup situation now. At least for this season.
  24. If we count all the protesters outside waving the banners, I would say around 2,500.
  25. I think I'll play the ROLE of spectator, since I don't think my NCAA eligibility appeal has a snowball's chance of success.
