Troy is improved, but I really don't think we're in the mood to lose another game anytime soon, so I think you'll see the same ball control you saw at KState. I also think our defense is pumped to go, so I don't see us losing this game unless special teams or our turnover game completely blows. Looking forward to it.

He ran a 4.5 at the combine two years ago, so I'm guessing maybe the extra 15-20 pounds may have slowed him down a little as far as breakaway is concerned. From what I've seen, he still has a great burst, and maybe a little more of that breakaway speed will return in time. Just to jump on Vito because it's popular at the moment, I'll say that I'm not so sure that I would refer to K-State as a "national power" multiple times, but I do agree that they did have a very good year last season and a nice start thus far in 2012. Guess we'll just have to wait and see on that national power thing. As far as DT is concerned, he definitely performed up to expectations on Saturday, and I sure hope that continues.

It definitely means something, Just like Middle beating Vandy (or certainly Tennessee) would mean something. The SEC is football God country these days, and anyone outside the Big 6 who beats any of them has done something big.

I have to agree. Attention and overall energy in the program went way up with TD, but wins were obviously practically non-existent. Just a failed experiment, but I'm happy to where it led us. Mac is doing it right, and our OL is the core of it all.

Certainly a thought, but I'm glad we're going anyway. Wish CUSA would have gone a little easier on the startups though. I think most of that was to please East Carolina, and they could be going away before too long.

Yeah, it's kind of all about the culture change that Mac is pushing which is referenced to in another thread. No more of this little guy talk other than the Little Guys Movers ad. We're big guys, and we need to start acting that way in every respect. The quicker we do, the quicker the outsiders will become believers.

Am I the only one who gets pissed off by that kind of a segue on the front page of the DMN? It sounds as if we are a lower division team going against a higher division team. Personally. the only conservatism that I'm complaining about is not going for the jugular on 4th down, when you're deep in the home teams territory, and that home team is a ranked team and we a still very much in the game Ya just got to go for it when you are an on the road underdog. I haven't really thought about the long snapper factor, but it's certainly worth a film look.

Uh, that was the first game of the year after our annual BB game, so he just needs a little time to adjust. I think he showed that he's adjusting with his performance tonight.

I agree completely. DT is pretty much a pro-style QB, and it's not JUST up to him to consistently make the big down the field plays against top 25 competition. There are other players involved. We'll find out soon enough how things go against Belt competition.

I agree. I think we should have been on the attack much more than we were. Sometimes, the media BS about who is better than whom can psych you out at the highest levels. That being said, I'm pleased with our progress.

Maybe I'm still enamored with that long ago AK State game, but I'm gonna stick with special. He's still basically only half way through his NT career, and he has a lot of skills; both tangible and intangible. I'm betting that his consistency continues from here on out now that we've gotten past the rough patch of our schedule. We shall see.
