    I have very little doubt that DT will be the starter, but how quickly he will be pulled when/if things go bad is the question. I am surprised about no RS for Williams though, so I guess there is a small window for a shocker.

    It's not easy to prognosticate on what it's gonna take to win until we know who will be starting under center. I sure hope we find that out by next week.

    Alpine isn't much higher up or different climatically than El Paso. I guess they're going for isolation.

    I expected a lot of Bellazin coming out of Everman, but he has been pretty quiet so far. Sure hope this is his big breakout year, because he certainly has the potential. Hard to believe the guy is already a Senior.

    Actually there were only two teams in MLB post-season until '69. I guess '69 doesn't quite seem like the olden days to me since I was alive at the time. As far as we're concerned, I won't be happy with anything under 7 wins. 6 wins with no bowl game would be frustrating as Hell.

    I agree. He may not win any hundred meter championships, but he has a great burst. I wasn't aware that he played at close to a legit 220 last year, so that kinda eases any weight concerns.

    Yes, Jimmerson at around 5'8" 225 does sound a bit big for the running style we have seen from him in the past. Sure hope he has retained his speed and quickness.

    Yes, and I would guess that a pretty hefty majority of regular posters on this board are over 35 also. On the other hand, I'm a late 80's grad., and not surprisingly, it does seem as if our 1AA dive coincided with an increase in apathy. Coincidence? Not really, but the 1AA period also saw heavy enrollment growth driven by commuters and transfers, and those two segments are often the most disconnected of all. Hopefully winning will bring back those 40-55 year old types in droves.

    It's not really a wild guess to say that he's a bit of a spoiled brat, and that he has some mental issues to boot, but I'm not going to argue about what I've seen on the football field. It's going to be interesting to see how he responds this season.

    Football was meant to be played with leather helmets, but things change. 24 hour A/C is spoiling us all.

    I grew up around a guy who ended up playing big-time college/professional tennis, and those guys tend to be very hittable. I'd give him a good look over if he shows interest.

    Dutton Watson as a 6'3" 261 DB sounds like an intriguing prospect as well. Sounds like we can look forward to some major collisions in the secondary.

    If TT didn't already have their Baylor thing in Arlington going on, I would probably be interested in pushing for them in the CB, but for now I kind of think that we should just concentrate on getting better at Apogee.

    I'm going to throw out a definitive maybe. I would probably be doubtful about it had he not looked better in many ways prior to last season. His red zone performance has got to take a major leap forward, because moving the ball and controlling the clock just isn't going to cut it w/o the points to go along with it.

    I'm certainly not supporting the commercial, but wouldn't it be equally offensive if the participants were all white and decked out like the Beverly Hillbillies, or is it somehow "OK" these days to negatively stereotype whites and whites only? Just wondering where the boundaries are.

    Sexist too. Ironic that the commercial was created by a black rapper. Bet he's laughing his way to the bank on that one.
