  1. Other than two plays in the span of a minute, there's nothing to blame for that loss other than the running game, and that blame has to go on the coaches. I can't believe that a couple of OL injuries are to blame for a lack of running against that defense. Our current RB rotation may not be full of speedsters, but they can't be that slow. I wish we had an old style FB set to bash open some holes.
  2. Same here. Special teams have been special this year for the most part. This lack of a running game is perplexing, and I'm not sure that we can't blame all three areas (OL, RB's, and coaching) for our problems there. I certainly was expecting more from Jimmerson and am seeing nothing.
  3. Some truth there, but we should had played (called) that game more aggressively since I truly believe we were the better team.
  4. Absolutely. Stick with the attacking defense that had been working pretty well for 55 minutes.
  5. No reason whatsoever for that, especially when BB and McNulty have already burned their RS's. It would be ideal to have those two as Juniors next year, with DW as a RS Freshman. I've never really gotten Macs handling of the QB position. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see BB at Northern Colorado or somewhere for his final two years, and that doesn't make me happy at all.
  6. "I had an interesting long talk with the father of UNT's backup QB last night at Pat O'Brien's (great place for meaningful conversation after a big win). Aside from dissecting the game, he made a surprising statement to me--he said our defensive line was better than Georgia's. Now I have no idea if that is true, but it sure nice to be on this side of the conversation for once. He also had strong opinions about our QB, but not sure if that was a bit of jealousy or frustration or both. Apparently his son was ranked highly in his national QB recruiting class in a group with a lot of well known QBs and Dad thinks he is not getting a fair shake (insert stage parent analogies here)" Interesting, but not surprising if true.
  7. I blame it all on Karen. If she had just blown harder we would still be 2-2 with a November date in New Orleans.
  8. Let me know if you decide to give away a couple of those unused. My apologies for being in the wrong forum.
  9. So start him for two games and have him sprain his ankle if things don't work out.
  10. If anyone who has given up has a couple of ticket spares to give away I could use them. I have relatives coming through town.
  11. Offensively, we should had been able to physically whip the much smaller team at the line of scrimmage, but we found a way to make it look like we were playing Georgia once again. If we're not going to get a better play calling mix, we need a damn fullback, and a kickass fullback at that.
  12. My butt hurts, even though I'm not gay and have never been to prison. Extremely painful watching them cross the 50 yard line with that FG kicker waiting on the sideline.
  13. I've always felt like they pay off the refs, and last night was no different. That 163 million athletic budget is well spent, and I'm not referring to the coaching staff.
  14. Yeah, with the Times Picayune meltdown, you would think that they would be better at this newfangled internet thing.
  15. Yes, you would think they would have to announce a cancellation tonight, but that is really a tough call. If it weren't for the memory of Katrina a cancellation would be pretty shocking. Even though it looks to be mainly just a heavy rain storm at the moment, I guess you never really know for sure about those levees.
  16. Looks like we both have byes on Nov. 16th, so that could increase the odds of a reschedule.
  17. if we start winning enough to become the next Boise and win a national championship, then I somehow think they would have a tough time keeping us out. No doubt they'll find room for Notre Dame and BYU regardless. And yes, the green margaritas are flowing like a river at my house tonight.
  18. Great to hear. I remember a sociology professor who probably wanted to kick me out of class for wearing NT gear. Couldn't stand that guy.
  19. Amazing that we've never played them before. Someone correct me, but I think Tulane and GA. Tech are the last top level long-time football playing Southern/Southwestern schools (other than the Carolina's and Virginia) that we have never played before in our "hundred year" history. I guess California and Utah are loosely considered "Southwestern," but I'm not including them in the equation.
  20. They also have male hoes from Alabama at that Krystal's, who are legendary for rubbing their stuff on your face if you happen to fall asleep. Don't forget your caffeine.
  21. If the Appalachian State's and Georgia State's (among others) of the world weren't continually making the move up, this separation movement might not be happening. Because of the never ending move-ups, separation is inevitable. We better win big ASAP if we even want a snowball's chance to hang with the big boys.
  22. I tend to agree with that thought, unless the next school is in Iowa, or at least in that general area. K State will probably open up soon, and cash is king for most. If he does go elsewhere, I would guess that would mean that he did VERY well here, so I wouldn't cry too much about it.
  23. They still won't give up on Tulsa. I pick Rice in that one. I agree with the other picks, but I think we win going away by 20.
  24. Sounds like they will go into the game with some confidence, and it would serve us well if we can set them straight by the 2nd quarter.
