I love baseball, but have never liked either one of those teams. I watch it with total ambivalence, but go Sox to get this thing over on Wednesday.

In a way I agree with the general consensus that the best DD team was more talented, but on the other hand I think this team would have a better chance to win some of those games that DD's teams lost. The SBC was a pretty bad conference back then, and we generally only beat teams that we were supposed to beat other than Cincinnati and maybe the Baylor rout, and I think this team would match up better and win more of those OOC games. I guess I would attribute that thought to better depth along with more top to bottom size and speed on this team. Of course I think this team is better coached, and probably a little more explosive at the QB position as well. We'll know more by January.

Not that we don't live in an attendance glass house ourselves, but the championship at either one of those two places would be an attendance nightmare.

To tell ya the truth, I think our conference schedule this year is easier than it was in that "Suckbelt" last year. There are no guarantees of anything, but I would be shocked at this point if we don't end up bowl eligible. It all starts tomorrow.

Wow. Had no idea Odus was from Marshall HS too. I think Dennis was a good guy, but it almost makes me wonder if the Marshall connection was an influence on his hiring. Naw! At least I hope not.
