  1. OK, he's 33rd in the country in completion percentage and 42nd in passing yards. Top third in the nation in both categories.
  2. Strangely enough, it looks like the weather is actually going to be better in WV on Saturday than it will be in Houston. Mid-30's and raining in Rice stadium will attract practically no one. They better hope it turns out to be dry.
  3. I somehow missed that one. I always thought that not getting that bid was stated as one of the primary reasons for his departure.
  4. Both under the radar guys, but both big-time talent. Guess we have to give TD credit for something. Here's to hoping they both finish their college careers with a major bang.
  5. Oops! They don't have that on jhowell.net which is usually pretty reliable, but I'll take your word for it. All they have listed for alternative sites in '81 are against both Okie State and UTA in Irving. Still would be nice to go back there for the first time in a long time.
  6. Although I would much prefer playing in the Cotton Bowl for the first time since BYU in 1971 (yes, I looked it up), Amon Carter beats the heck out of playing in the Beef O'Stew game, or even the expense and hassle of Christmas Eve in Hawaii. Please let it be one or the other in the DFW area.
  7. But why can't we be well coached and well disciplined?
  8. I think the era is still current if living in Colorado.
  9. Not that it means everything, but Baylor's starter is not a senior. I would had really liked to see more of the other guys, but it's really a moot point now. Well, as long as DT stays healthy between now and the end of the bowl game of course.
  10. This makes me happy. Maryland isn't exactly my ideal vacation spot. Especially since I've recently been there.
  11. Great job guys and gals. I was there two years ago, and heard a few arrogant remarks during the game. Glad we got some payback before sending them on their way to the eastern time zone.
  12. Can't believe that we couldn't had at least worked out a 2 for 1 with Iowa. Looks like a 5 at home is pretty much etched in stone for 2015 unless Iowa has flexibility and the desire to play in North Texas at some point.
  13. Yes. We've had plenty of blowouts that would had allowed for plenty of backup opportunities, but leaving the backup QB's on the bench seems to be Mac's MO. Oh well. Too late to complain much now.
  14. I'm optimistic as well against Texas, but I suspect a lot of that will depend on our unknown QB play. I think we'll need to score a few more points on the offensive side against good teams next season to be successful.
  15. Truly nuts. Rubbing their things on passed out LSU fan's faces in burger joints is bad enough, but killing is a whole new ball game. Get some perspective people.
  16. And I suspect that lighting Reunion Tower in green with "UNT", rather than the ineffective blue and red "SMU" that we've been seeing lately, would turn out to be a whole lot more effective for us than it has been for them.
  17. My thoughts exactly. I was really quite amazed and impressed with our N.O. turnout. I suspect that DFW NT fans will come out of the woodwork in droves for a big name opponent in Dallas. Provided the weather is decent of course.
  18. Rice would probably take almost as many (few) to Hawaii as they would to Dallas. If no Liberty, Hawaii is where they should logically be placed, but since when does logic matter with these things.
  19. Simply put, beating Michigan would be HUGE for our program, while a closely played loss wouldn't be devastating. Bring 'em on!
  20. I've always liked the not so tall yet mobile college QB. Sometimes you can get some very special under the radar talent with those guys.
  21. Yes, that has pretty much been the status quo all season. Sometimes the conservatism works and sometimes it doesn't. It definitely didn't work against Tulane or SA. DT may make some mistakes, but I hope he (and the offense) gets unshackled a bit in the final two games. How many games has it been since we've even attempted any trickery? Sometimes I could swear that I'm seeing DD and his soft drink sidekick standing over on our sideline.
  22. I'll be there! In nearly 10 months.
  23. I was considering making a long turnaround trip to Tulsa after Thanksgiving, but not now. I'm saving my bullets for the bowl game. Please don't be on the East Coast. I might even do Hawaii, but I don't want an East Coast. Did the East Coast last Summer.
  24. Yes, I was definitely in the go for it crowd on that one. If we didn't make it, we would had still had them pinned back with less room for Soza to work. Too conservative there.
  25. We clearly don't do well after them, so I guess you have to throw a stone at the coaches on that one..
