You'll be begging for it when you're 84.

Nice offensive line by the two senior guards. Unfortunately that's about all we had. Nice effort against a good team. Too many fouls and T/O's to go with our usual overall shooting night. El Paso here we come. For what it's worth.
-
We're definitely outshooting them from the line so far. That has to continue.

Yes, it's no longer a happy place. I just try to imagine that it's 2010 and we're playing TT.

First UNT Practice of 2014 Observations

Maybe we should limit that attempt to after victories only, since I can picture us looking like absolute imbeciles making a bunch of freaky noises after a big loss. -
Wouldn't that be 6 years of futility before Mac's arrival? '05, '06, '07, '08, '09, '10. It certainly did seem like a decade though.

As in our first game. I love speed, but we REALLY need Wallace to pull an Abbe and upgrade himself in short order. At least we have the probability of having some hefty LB's to back up what will likely be a generally light DL.

I've normally tried to make around half of the games over the past few years, but this year I've only managed to drive the 80 mile round trip for three. Last season plus this year's start just took all the wind out of my sails. I too may try and make the last one just to say goodbye. That is if I can find someone not easily depressed who's interested enough in the game to accompany me.

On a good day when I'm in a semi-zone, even I can do 16 for 66. Of course I'm talking about FROM MID-COURT!! My apologies for the caps, but Benford just does that to me sometimes.

SMU on A&M LB Jordan Richmond transferring to UNT

I reluctantly have to agree. A couple of decades ago the aforementioned comment had some validity, but probably more than half the student population these days is fairly mainstream. Certainly not defending them, because when I lived in University Park around the late 80's to early 90's I certainly ran into more than a few scumbags. -
And here I was dreaming of 17-13* and 8-8. I'm heartbroken.

Well, we made the decision to hire a coach who has to go through on the job training, so I guess we've got what we've got for the time being. How we perform over the next couple of weeks will be very telling.
-
So we won? Wow. I had to dig through the thread to try and figure that out. Last night I was driving all around the DFW area during game time, but didn't even think to click on the game. Far cry from a couple of years ago when I honestly climbed 50 feet up an East Texas tree to pick up a game against LA-Monroe. My how things change.

I think we need a city dump fire, since a dumpster fire will no longer suffice. -
Your SA-CC education is shining through, so maybe you should just go away while you're ahead. Sort of ahead I guess. At least for your standards.

Pick 5 guys and roll the ball on the court. I honestly think we would do better.

I can no longer pick up the broadcast the old fashioned way where I live, and that may not be a bad thing.

Yeah, but recruiting class rankings aren't much different than pre-season rankings, and we saw just how accurate those were for us in CUSA this year. Several of these guys were very close to 3 Stars, and at least a couple probably weren't rated higher due to not having ideal size or for playing in a smaller program. I'm like you in that I think this class is really promising, and I guess it'll be a couple of years before we even begin to know for sure how good it really is.
-
Maybe so, but 49th in rebounding sure looks a lot better than 332nd in assists and 250th in FG %. Not that any of that really matters, since we are obviously doing very few positive things consistently on a team basis, while the individual performances deserving of accolades are pretty few and far between themselves. I guess I'll just have to grab hold of any ray of sunshine I can dig up this season.

Rebounds are the only major area where we're ranked Top 50 nationally, but yeah, a Benford OOC schedule is likely going to get you some rebounds.

2014 C-USA football schedule released today

Looks to be the first time in history that we've played 5 "1A" Texas schools, and we're playing the games in the 5 biggest metro areas. Wish more were at home, but you've gotta love the exposure. -
Breaking news — Looks like Jeffery Wilson is a go
foutsrouts replied to Harry's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
It has been more than a couple of decades, but I had the kind of unusual experience of playing at both the 5A and 2A levels. The difference is HUGE, and even more so these days. Even so, I think this guy has a chance to be special once he adjusts to the scene. Running the ball against Alto or Crockett is a little different than running against Texas or Tennessee.- 36 replies
