  1. Just blow off the East and create a new 9-10 team Texas, LA, AR*, MS league and be done with it. NT, UTEP, Rice, LaTech, SA, S. Miss, and take your pick of the other 3 or 4. Maybe we would get lucky and one or two of the recent defectors would decide to return. I get tired of realignments, since conference membership seems to go downhill shortly after our arrival. Coincidence?
  2. It's generally been rough being a Mean Green fan, but things seem to be getting particularly Hellish these days. It's sad to say that giving up isn't a likely option. Maybe it'll help if I ask my doctor for a Valium script at my next physical.
  3. I thought Marcus Smart was Forte's best friend. Did he take up with Nash as best buddies after Smart left?
  4. Combs is definitely looking like something positive for the next 3+ years. Wish I could say the same for Wesley.
  5. Brent Osborn originally verbaled to UAB before signing with Georgia Southern, so maybe he would want to help....oh that's right, forget it.
  6. EXTREMELY bold, unless there's some kind of a family relationship that I'm not aware of. He may get a bit smarter, but I just don't see McNulty's arm strength improving enough to open up this offense down field at all next season. He probably would of had 4 picks last Saturday if S.A. defenders could have caught the ball. Please bring in a proven transfer ASAP, and give him a reasonable chance at the job..
  7. There are also a few often very beatable MWC teams that I would like to see in Denton on occasion. New Mexico would likely draw a pretty decent crowd, and we've only played them twice (1-1) in our history. We've never even played Wyoming.
  8. As well as being the alma mater of the infamous Neil Lomax.
  9. Add UH, Arky State, and San Marcos to that mix, and we would finally be in a conference that makes geographical sense.
  10. The sad thing is that I really don't think that they give a damn.
  11. We don't like flashy quarterbacks here, and that's not up for negotiation. Period.
  12. Maybe the next time we see him will be his running roughshod over us while playing for the Cardinals of Incarnate Word.
  13. Anyone know the breakdown on that $945K max. bonus? National championship?
  14. A baseball team. As many home football games as everyone else in the country seems to manage wouldn't hurt either.
  15. Hope you're right, but weren't we the only school in the country to offer him located outside of Montana?
  16. Yeah, Mac seems to be a grudge holder. Not always a great attribute for a coach.
  17. I'll look for 20, but will be shocked if we get there. I almost was going to make this game tonight due to visiting relatives in that direction. Hope we at least make it a game.
  18. Since we missed our chance last Saturday, let's all go to San Antone this weekend and hold an only 4 home game protest for the cameras. We can kick it off tonight in front of The Pit. Enough of this stuff.
  19. Vizza was pretty good at it, but he preferred civilian life and couldn't tackle worth a darn.
  20. We need to hire a SERIOUS QB coach and give him free reign. The Mac and Chico show in QB evaluations is simply not working. Oh, and no relatives or semi-relatives need apply. As coaches or QB's.
  21. I'm not going to agree that it's definitely all downhill from here with him since I hope that he can somehow adjust, but I do agree that he's trying to play Big 10 football in a situation where consistently attracting "Big 10 type" athletes just isn't likely to happen anytime soon. I also do wonder if his personality is a bit of a negative in recruiting, since we pretty much only recruit kids from Texas, and some kids just respond better to people from their own region. Have we ever had a "Northern" coach here at North Texas? I don't recall one, but I guess it doesn't hurt to grasp at straws.
  22. Yep. You kind of need to outscore the other team, and usually it's up to the offense to accomplish that. 21-17 wins are just fine, but I prefer a QB led offense that has the capability to score 4 or 5 TD's a game all on their lonesome. We seem to have trouble with that, but maybe that's just me.
  23. Dodge started with a high school everything, and most didn't even bitch about the on the job training until the losses came rolling in. This situation is totally different.
  24. McNulty/Greer yes, DW no. DW is a talented yet raw freshman kid, and he should be getting the developmental reps now that this season is coming to a close. He won't, and will probably disappear because of that. This staff's ability to gauge QB talent is pathetic at best, and that is evidenced by the fact that they stuck with Greer early, and then simply threw him into the garbage heap with zero chance of recovery. The QB position means so much in this game these days, and I put the blame for the offensive ineptitude squarely on the shoulders of the coaching staff. Thanks Mac.
